Chapter 3

DYLAN

"Hey wait up!" He ran to me again, "Are we gonna pretend that didn't just happen?"

"What?"

"That stunning lady just gave you her card, also asking for a date."

"It's not a date dummy, she just wants to pay for the phone."

"It didn't sound that way to me."

I rolled my eyes and kept walking, not planning on replying him on that.

"So are you acknowledging her date?" He asked.

"What do you mean?"

"You'll call her sometime right?" he asked again.

"Why are you getting worked up? Are you jealous?" I turned to look at him, questioning his emotions.

"I'm not. I'm just curious." He replied blankly.

"Doesn't sound that way to me."

"I'm really not jealous."

"Then stop being bothered about what's not."

He huffed and shut his mouth, not saying anymore, gladly.

Getting to class, I find my mind lingering on that image of the lady earlier; her voice and face. I couldn't decipher why my memories of her were hazy. I took the card she gave me earlier out from my pocket.

Freda Moon - inscribed on the card.

"Thinking of her already?" I suddenly heard someone whisper into my right ear. I turned to see Finn giving me questioning eyes.

"Yes, I'm thinking of how stunning she would be on my bed, completely naked." I told him, trying to toy with his emotions again. He gasps loudly making half of the class turn to us. Immediately he cleared his throat and pretended nothing happened, obviously to make the others turn away from us.

I giggled silently and whispered to his ears again, "I was kidding, she doesn't fantasize me anyway."

He rolled his eyes dramatically and turned back to the lecturer. I was been serious when I said she doesn't fantasize me, I mean not in the kind of way I had jokingly put it.

'That energy, I don't perceive it anymore.' Oz suddenly tells me, mentally.

Right, I couldn't perceive that strong energy again. I turned giving a quick glance at the entire class, she wasn't here.

FREDA.

I made it to the lounge once I was sure my classes for the day were officially over. He was sitting there waiting patiently for me, Lucian.

"Hey pretty" He called out, noticing me.

I swinged my fingers, waving at him and smiled widely, taking a seat opposite him.

"How is my princess?"

"I'm fine, Lucian. Well guess who I bumped into today?"

He dropped his MacBook, starting to focus on me, "Who?"

"The Lycanthrope Midnight Pack's Alpha." I tell him.

He made a snicker, seeming interested now, "No way. Dylan?"

"Yup. I gave him a reason to linger his mind around me for a while. And don't worry, he doesn't remember me just yet." I smirk.

"Good girl." He smiled.

I watched Lucian ponder on the little piece of information I gave him, he seemed really interested.

"Dylan Lycan, out blending with those humans. That's fascinating."

ELSA.

One more class to go, and I'll be in my room having my well deserved nap. If only my mom wouldn't disrupt that with her frequent obsessive calls.

I walk into statistics class, and almost immediately he walked in; the freak I was stealing glances at and who I was stupidly running away from.

His facial expression changed once his eyes caught mine, and his eyes turned green. What was that?

I look away immediately, worried that I might have been hallucinating that. The entrance of the teacher, made it easier to shrug off that thought.

"... analysis of variance is one of the statistical methods for making simultaneous comparisons between two or more means. Simply called ANOVA"

I tried my best keeping up with the class. Statistics has always been my thing, but this man's voice sounded like a lullaby. Half of the class were dozing off already, and he didn't seem to mind or worry about that. I was too groomed to sleep in an ongoing class.

My half sleepy eyes kept hovering from people to people till it dropped on him, that freak again. Once again, we were both starring at each other, it felt like a staring contest because for minutes neither of us looked away. Till the teacher's voice jolted me, and I looked away at once.

"... having said that you are to peer in groups of fours and fives. More like a welcome back to school project assignment. Study more on analysis as a group and give your feedbacks in your project assignment, not leaving out everything I explained today."

What? A group project assignment? Barely a week into resumption? This man is so mean.

I watch him pack his lecture notes in one hand, preparing to leave. Exactly ten minutes remained before his class ends, I wonder why he's leaving early. Well good for me, I get to take my nap much earlier.

DYLAN.

I got out of class with Finn, waiting at the entrance for her; the one with the over active energy.

"Who are you waiting for? Let's go, I'm exhausted please." Finn groaned.

"Wait. Uh Finn you remember the other time I asked you to leave earlier? There was a girl in class with us then, you know her?"

He paused trying to think, "Oh you mean Elsa?"

"That's her name?"

"Yes, Elsa Woods. We were both in the same project group twice last semester. Right, you wouldn't know anyone, you just got transferred."

I nodded subconsciously.

"What about her anyway?" Finn asked.

"Oh nothing. I was just curious"

Almost immediately, two girls who looked like their faces got buried in a make up kit appear out of nowhere, and suddenly held my arms.

"Excuse you?" I glanced to look at Finn, he looked just as confused.

"Hi handsome" the girls said simultaneously.

"Do I know you?" I shot at them. They got a hold of themselves and let go of my arm.

"I'm Miranda"

"I'm Chloe"

I glanced at Finn again and back at them, "And?"

"Well we both offer Statistics too and are in our second year, just like you."

I couldn't differentiate between neither of them, their makeups and hair made them look identical.

"I figured you haven't gotten a hang of the school yet since you're just a transfer student, and we'll love to help you settle down but first join our project group. We're two persons vacant, you and your friend can join us." One of them added, flashing the brightest smile I had ever seen.

"Tha--that is such a great idea, Dylan." Finn stuttered. Was he that wowed by these girls? I thought he was more interested in men.

"Oh Dylan, you have such a hot name." Chloe half whispered, making both of them giggle. I really don't get what's funny.

"Sure we'll join your group." I tell them.

"Great!" Both of them intertwined their arms with mine, as they half dragged me out of the hallway. I glanced at both of them and smiled, they weren't bad after all.
