You're Really a Pain in the Ass

It was a long while before Gu Yuzhen let her go. He pulled her back into his car without saying a word.

Ming Qu was still in a daze.

"Why did you go on a blind date? You're that eager to get married?"

Gu Yuzhen's voice was piercingly cold in the cramped car, without a trace of familiarity.

Ming Qu snapped out of her daze and turned to look at him.

The corners of her mouth twitched, but she did not know what to say.

At that moment, Gu Yuzhen commanded the driver, "Drive!"

The car started and they drove down the wide road.

Ming Qu's gaze shifted to the ongoings outside the window as she slowly fell into a trance.

Her hand that was resting on her leg was suddenly held.

Ming Qu was pulled back to her senses. Her eyebrows lowered as her eyes widened. She was still in disbelief.

Gu Yuzhen had declared himself her boyfriend. Just now, he'd kissed her in front of her blind date. Now, he'd taken the initiative to hold her hand.

This... This... How did this happen?

She could teach herself any field without even needing a mentor. Yet when it came to relationships, she simply needed a master's guide!

"Mr. Gu, why did you come to Tong City?"

After a long pause, Ming Qu asked calmly.

By then, the car had already turned into a residential area of villas.

The man did not reply. He was composed and simply sat upright, keeping his eyes forward.

"Sir, we're here."

The driver got out of the car, opening their doors for them. Ming Qu followed suit.

She stared at the house before her, still dazed. Gu Yuzhen pinched her on the wrist.

He guided her into the villa. They had just passed the entrance when she was once again pressed against the wall. "You've been away for so long, why didn't you ever call me back? You're so heartless."

Ming Qu raised her eyes as her mouth widened in surprise.

She had indeed overlooked this. It wasn't that she was heartless. She had just wanted to wait until she felt safe with the Ming family before reporting back to him.

She had figured that with his status, he wouldn't have cared that much anyway.

"Mr. Gu, thank you for saving my life back then. It's just that..."

"We're not strangers. Call me Ah Zhen."

He interrupted her before she could complete her sentence.

Ming Qu stared into his eyes, as her own darted from left to right for a full minute.

"Do you like me?"

She had always wanted to be straightforward. Of course, she was also afraid of being hurt.

She had never managed to gather the confidence to ask this question.

Seeing that he was still staring at her, she lifted a hand, resting it behind his neck. She did not know where she had gotten the courage to do so. She moved her cheek closer, so that it almost touched Gu Yuzhen's lips.

"You've ruined my blind date."

"You haven't answered my question. Instead, now you're accusing me."

Gu Yuzhen spoke with a flirtatious tone.

Ming Qu's lips curled into a smile. Her two dimples gradually deepened.

The man's cheeks flared as he kissed her lips again.

Ming Qu had always thought that it would take a long time for the two of them to realize each other's feelings. However, she had never expected that he would make a move. Their feelings had been welling up for a long time.

Some time passed before Gu Yuzhen could finally suppress the desire in his heart, and reluctantly let go of her…

"Is this your house?"

Ming Qu looked around, asking curiously.

Gu Yuzhen hummed softly as he sat down on the sofa.

The house was enormous, with two floors. Its decor was simple, but managed to carry traces of the villa in France.

"But your business is not here."

"You are here."

His words left her speechless.

Ming Qu pretended not to have heard it, but the corner of her lip curved upwards, betraying her.

"You want to get married?"

Gu Yuzhen repeated his question from before.

Ming Qu's wandering gaze came to a halt, and she turned her eyes back to him. He was smiling gently. 

"I'm still young, there's no rush."

"But I'm not young anymore, I can't wait."

"Mr. Gu..."

"Ah Zhen."

Ming Qu was helpless as he corrected her firmly.

Realizing that she had nothing left to say, she turned around, preparing to leave.

"I have to go home."

Seeing this, Gu Yuzhen hurriedly got up and chased after her.

Finally catching up to her at the entrance, he pulled her into his arms again, sighing deeply. "You really are a pain in the ass."
