"Spirit Bomb," Lite Version

"What is he doing? What is that huge ball of light that he is holding above his head? How did he summon it?"

These questions no doubt filled the hearts of everyone that were watching Li Yue! The scene in front of their eyes was simply too strange for them.

Nobody knew what that massive ball of light was, nor did they knew what Li Yue intended to do with it.

The blue sphere of light flashed with violent electric arcs across its surface. Despite viewing through soundless video screens, all of Li Yue's audience could feel the oppressive thunder that it would generate.

Fear of lightning was ingrained within the psyche of every humans. Lightning contains so much raw power that humanity had never been able to control and utilize.

Yet this one person had tamed the lightning. The method was unknown, but it inspired awe nonetheless.

"He can control lightning? Could he be related to that God of Thunder, Thor from Asgard?"

Nick Fury's expression was grave. Although he made an effort to hide his emotions from his dark face, his face right now clearly showed his turbulent heart below the calm facade.

The dark clouds that surged on the satellite image surrounded the figure—fortunately, there was a circular gap above his head, giving direct view to all his movement as well as the expanding sphere of light!

Nick Fury felt that this person had wanted to be seen. Otherwise he wouldn't have written that sentences and opened a gap in the clouds. Perhaps he wanted to catch the attention of someone like Nick Fury, who was watching him!

"Heh, I don't think he was actually hostile at all. Perhaps he could join the Avengers as a reserve member! But we need to investigate him first! We need to find out his identity!"

This kind of extraordinary power was exactly what Nick Fury was looking for. After all, it would be better for the Avengers to have more powerful people! And this person was right up Nick Fury's alley!

Naturally, Li Yue had no idea what Nick Fury was up to. Nor was he particularly interested in knowing: he had never once thought to join Nick Fury's Avengers.

That would just be too troublesome. It would be tiring, and he would also have to suffer the criticism of others. Even if you saved the world a thousand times, just one mistake was all it takes for people to turn against you!

Li Yue didn't have the patience of a real superhero. He was afraid that the criticism would turn him cold and cruel like Homelander.

Either way, Li Yue had no time to think about it this time. He was busy copying Goku's Spirit Bomb from Dragon Balls.

He was obviously unable to gather spirit from living things around him and create energy bomb a kilometer across, so he was using his own energy and the power of thunder to condense a sphere of energy. He was able to create energy bomb more than ten meters in diameter.

Of course, it wasn't some sort of secret martial arts moves. He was simply copying the form with his powers, artificially inflating the size by making the center hollow.

Nobody would've guessed that there wasn't anything inside that sphere! Its size was just an appearance!

But while its size was manipulated, its power was still be considerable. It wouldn't quite reach the level of a nuclear bomb, but it was beyond the level of an ordinary missile!

And the primary effect was of course the violent and intimidating aura that such mass of energy emanates.

To shock his satellite audiences out of their minds, that was Li Yue's goal!

To put it bluntly, Li Yue was just trying his best to act tough!

Li Yue felt that the energy sphere began to be unstable the more he gathered energy in it. It was unsurprising that such a massive energy ball was hard to control.

Fortunately, Li Yue had a relatively strong mental fortitude, and he was able to control the energy circulating within the ball! The violent lightning energy was the most unstable variable! But it was still within Li Yue's ability!

If he was careless, the ball might just explode right above his head, and obliterating himself!

Li Yue carefully manipulated the sphere and threw it to the ground with both hands!

Fortunately, the energy within the sphere was stable enough to not explode right after leaving Li Yue's hands. It was able to fly a hundred meters, reaching the ground!

The power level of this Spirit Bomb was relatively high, but it wasn't really as practical as Kamehameha.

Probably due to its size and its hollow interior, it was quite a bit slower than Kamehameha. In a real fight, nobody would've stood still just waiting for the attack to reach them!

Of course, it wasn't impossible that there exist some overconfident fool who would just stand in place waiting for the move that took half a day to charge! But this special kind of fool was pretty rare!

While the massive ball of light was relatively slow, it was important to know what it was slow compared to. The ball had taken only a few seconds to cover the hundred meters distance between Li Yue and the ground, which was still much faster than the running speed of a normal person!

* CHI CHI *

A strange sound reminiscent to a red-hot metal touching cold water could be heard when the ball of light touched the ground.

BOOM!!!

However, that sound only lasted less than a second before a huge explosion drowned everything.

In the moments that followed, the world seemed to have lost all color. A mushroom cloud reminiscent of a nuclear explosion rose into the sky! But instead of the yellow and orange of burning flames, it was the blue and white of Li Yue's energies!

It almost looked more like a painting of a firework rather than a nuclear explosion. The brilliant light gave a sense of awe and beauty, instead of the dreadful destruction of a nuclear bomb.

Its beautiful appearance aside, the explosion was immensely powerful!

The magnificent colors in the mushroom cloud represented its violent and incomprehensible energies.

To release such amount of energy all at once, one could only imagine its effect. Shockwaves swept through the world in all directions, agitating and gathering dust and gravels in its path!

Li Yue, who was standing directly above it, was almost swept by the shockwave himself. Fortunately, his body was very strong. Shockwaves at this level was barely a threat to him.
