Explore This New World

The young male who seemed to be sleeping peacefully in the middle of the destroyed machine didn't know this world or its past, or so it has been so far.

Now that his mind was relaxed and free of the shackles of consciousness, images and words reached him that he didn't understand and understood at the same time.

He was still like a newborn kitten left unprotected in the big world, but now he finally had a basic understanding of his surroundings.

He didn't know who he was yet, whether he was an ordinary human, or a Guide or a Sentinel, but he already knew how to tell them apart thanks to, that when the time came, he would know it.

At the same time, quietly in his heart, there was a desire to be just an ordinary person because, despite the fact, that the common man had no special abilities, such have as Sentinels or Guides, but the adolescent thought they had something more important, that this young man wanted most.

Namely freedom and liberty.

It was impossible to blame the young man for his thoughts and assumptions. After all, it wasn't his world, and he didn't know it.

The only thing he knew, that was it, what changes this universe has undergone in relation to the Sentinels and Guides. He knew little more.

He understood that technology is diametrically going to the front, and he, if it was about it, now he was backward, in matters and things that for other people were normal technology used in everyday life.

And he also understood that there was a threat in the world known as the Zerg, who were parasitic creatures, but he knew little else besides this.

He still didn't really know the world he was in now, and his assumptions about everything were uncertain and cautious.

The night slowly passing, and the night desert creatures and the Beasts returning to their lairs for their daily rest.

Some of them with full stomachs and the fresh blood of their victims adorning their bodies and fur, and others full of joy that they managed to survive another night.

Hide in their lairs, they gave way to their daily counterparts, as same diverse and dangerous as they were.

The morning, still delicate sunlight was breaking through the hole in the machine in which the young man took refuge.

Slowly, as if full of morning laziness, it replaced the moonlight, caressing the youth's face and condensing him a golden glow.

The delicate blue glow that surrounded his sleeping figure all night long-vanished like an illusion, leaving no trace behind.

Mivio frowned his slender eyebrows and raised one of his hands, subconsciously trying, like a small kitten, to naively hide from the awakening him light.

After a moment, with a slight purr escaping his throat, he opened his watery eyes, still hazy with the rest of his sleep.

Delicate like tiny diamonds, the physiological tears that had formed during his sleep tried to run down his cheeks, as if to caress his face with high cheekbones and full lips in color powder-red slightly moistened by a small pink tongue which, like a skittish creature, emerged for a moment between white teeth, then disappear quickly.

With his slender hand with long elegant fingers and slightly protruding knuckles, sheathed in jade leather through which blue veins pierced, he wiped the moisture off his face and carefully rubbed his sleepy eyes.

He looked like a fluffy little newly born pet. Helplessly cute and clumsy, arousing in others the desire to protect and seize him. Hiding him in your arms so that no one else could see him, much less touch him.

The youth surrounded by the desert, sitting in his quiet, cool lair, was like a young Serval or a desert Fennec fox, one of the most characteristic animals inhabiting the Earth's desert.

The lazy, even soft appearance of youth could charm many, but now no one had the chance to see him.

From a state of light-headedness caused by a recent dream and the information about the world which he saw in them, the youth was roused by a strange bird scream resembling the sound made by Earth Vultures.

On Earth, these creatures are unlikely to be found in the desert and rather in the African savannas, but after all, it was not Earth, and the creatures known there didn't live here.

This bird scream that completely awakened the young man still bathed in remnants of sleep belonged to one of the local here desert inhabitants.

A large bird of prey whose wingspan in the smallest representatives of this desert species was almost four meters, and in the largest up to seven meters.

They were dangerous creatures, about large sharp beaks, and most often light brown plumage with an admixture of dark brown and ash black, as well, and also about sharp long talons and slender necks.

Their eyes were keen and alert, watching their surroundings closely when their soaring high above the desert, like self-proclaimed rulers.

Fortunately for Mivio, who was still too unfamiliar with this new environment, these creatures were scavengers and very rarely attacked others, although such cases did happen.

After a moment of listening to this sound that interrupted the omnipresent silence, the youth stood up and looked around at his surroundings.

Now, as the sun's rays gently illuminated them, it was more visible.

The metal walls were coated with cables in some places, and strange screens were sticking out of them elsewhere.

The whole thing was distorted by the damage, but you could still see what the inside of the machine looked like when it was in perfect condition.

Mivio slowly wandered through the corridors of this machine, looking for some rooms, hoping that there would be something in them.

That what he most wanted to find, it was not the food or drinking water, which what his survival in the desert really depended on, but a functioning bathroom.

He not only felt the need to take care of his morning needs but also wanted a bath.

Taking frequent baths was something this young man felt addicted to, which was why some described him as a man who could not bear dirt, especially on his own body.

When he was still in his world, his norm was to shower or bath at least twice a day.

Now, deprived of this possibility, he felt extremely uncomfortable.

That what he finally managed to find, it was not what he wanted, but it was interesting enough to interest him.

Namely, it was a dilapidated, open door that looked as if someone had taken it straight out of a sci-fi movie.

They were leading to a living room with scattered things and traces of blood.

The young man, whose ethereal appearance didn't match this dirty and full of dried blood room, narrowed his beautiful watery eyes in the shape of narrowed almonds, and he began to slowly explore these new surroundings.

His face, with high cheekbones and slender eyebrows, seemed indifferent and covered with a gentle cold, as if nothing could move him.

After a slow, closer look at the surroundings, he concluded that there must have been some fight here.

But in that case, where are those who fought and what they fought with? Or with whom...

Although the room was stained with blood, there was not any body in it, not even a single piece of it.

Avoiding touching dried blood, the youth carefully checked the items left in the room, looking for something that might be of use to him.

In the end, he managed to find a knife with a strange smooth, and at first glance, a delicate long blade that seemed to emit a slight glow.

Mivio didn't know that what he found, it was one of the most popular interstellar knife models, made of the most commonly used steel-like material today, but much more durable, and with proper processing, becomes an ever-sharp and rust-free material. A maintaining its original, perfect condition regardless of the circumstances.

The knife the youth found was well balanced.

It had a blade of medium length, which was about twenty-one centimeters, and a slender black handle, which fits comfortably in the hand, allowing the entire knife to be maneuvered quickly.

Complete to the knife, also managed the youth to find a case for the knife, which appeared to be leather.

After a moment's thought, Mivio created for it a makeshift harness on the thigh, which was to serve as a place to attach a cover with a found knife.

He wanted it not to restrict his movements and at the same time to be easily available in an emergency.
