Her Decisions

Sitting on the couch, Myla has been wondering about that girl.

"I've been thinking—"

"Of what, Mom?" Mira arched her left brow as she flipped the magazine page she was reading.

"That girl… I know I've seen her somewhere, but I can't recall when or where," she uttered, making Mira frown and close the magazine.

"I told you. She's not good. She's… she's ugly, and she reminds me of…" she paused when she came to realize with some thoughts. "Shit!" she said and stood up, eyes pierced toward her mother.

Myla's forehead knitted. "What's wrong?" she asked.

"Mom!" Rage started to build inside Mira when she pictured that woman's face. "She's Cassie! I can't be mistaken!"

Myla shushed her. "They will hear you…"

"Mom, she's a doctor…" she didn't finish talking when her mother stood up and ran toward the second floor.

Their hearts beat too fast because they know their scheme will be drop out.

"We need to hurry…"

"What's with the rush?" Theo's voice shot toward them, making them stop walking.

They look at him in terror. And worst, Cassie appeared next to Theo.

"C-Cassie…" Mira got back to her senses after a few seconds of horror.

"You seem terrified. What's wrong?"

Cassie's appearance scared the hell out of Mira. How could a fat and ugly woman turn into a charming and beautiful princess?

This isn't a fairy tale, but they knew they were fascinated and doomed.

"W-we can explain…"

"Explain what?" Cassie crossed her arms in front of her chest while Theo stayed beside her, unbothered.

Cassie expected that Mira and Myla's evilness would reach the extent where they planned to kill her father.

She has never trusted them ever since. But because her father loves Myla, she has no choice but to respect it. She never rebelled about it. She lives in the shadows, staying silent.

However, she won't let them fulfill what they want to do after all those years. It's time for her to end all their schemes.

"You will explain why you want to kill my father? The very person who dressed and gave you shelter? For what? For money?" She tried to stay as calm as possible, but her voice tended not to.

Mira, who doesn't want to lose with this argument, raised her head, acting high and mighty. "You know nothing! You're not there when he suffered—"

"How thick was your face, throwing those words at me when you're trying to kill him!"

"What?" Myla stepped forward. "Kill him? Why would…"

Cassie raised the record book and waved it. "In case you might forget, I am a doctor. All the medicines that were listed here are not for fast recovery!"

Mira's legs started to tremble as she met her mother's gaze. At this moment, they might lose everything.

"You can do whatever you want, but I will not let my father suffer again in your hands. You can stay here in my fathers's mansion," she emphasizes those words as she pierced her gaze on them, "I will transfer him to Theo's house. And for the company. I will manage it. As the firstborn, I have the right…"

"No. How could you! You're the reason why Dad is suffering. If you hadn't ditched your wedding two years ago, Dad wouldn't be in that state!"

Cassie laughed. "Now, you're blaming me? Don't divert the topic and my decision if you don't want me to sue you!"

Mira balled her fists and was about to talk again when Myla held her left arm and dragged her closer to her side.

"W-we will respect your decision," Myla finally finished it, making Mira glare at her.

Myla's jaw clenched and darted a warning to Mira. "Take it while Cassie is being considerate."

"But…"

*Slap*

Cassie was surprised when Myla slapped Mira in front of them.

"You will listen to me, Mira!" Myla glared at her daughter before diverting her gaze toward Cassie. "My apology for your sister's behavior."

Cassie just arched her brow and threw one last glance at the two before she walked away.

Theo put his hands inside his pockets and met Myla's eyes. "Cassie is kind enough to set those conditions, but I'm different. One wrong move and I will not think twice about putting bullets in your heads," he warned before leaving.

Mira gritted her teeth and was about to take a step when Myla stopped her. "Don't even think about it."

"I hate you, Mom. You let that bitch win over me. Now, how can…"

"Shut up, and let's set a good plan. We need a concrete plan. Do you think I will let them win over us?"

Mira frowned. "What do you mean?"

Myla smirked. "We have the Carters, and I also have connections. I am not afraid of that, Smith. We need to dig for information about that devil."

Mira smiled. Whatever her mother's plans are, she will trust and stick to them.

"Drake should know about this. Besides, the Carters also hated Theodore Smith. He's so full of himself!" Mira uttered.

WHILE on their way home, Cassie breaks the silence.

"You know those two won't just sit back and relax, right?"

Theo nodded. Still, his eyes were fixed on the road.

"What do you think will happen if I let them just like that?"

Theo chuckled. "Didn't you say to me earlier that you believe in karma?"

When Cassie found out about what the two were doing to her father, she told Theo about her plans and also the thing about karma. She grew up believing that every action has consequences. She's not a person who is devoted to the word: revenge.

That's why she came up with the decision, and that was to let go of Mira and Myla even though she has the right to sue them.

"Law sometimes was like a zigzag road. Revenge isn't my thing. It gives me stress just by thinking of it…"

"And letting them go makes you at ease?" Theo interrupted.

Cassie heaved a deep sigh. "I don't know."

Theo glanced at her and shook his head as they entered to his territory.

"That decision makes you weak. But don't worry. You have me. I won't let them win," he said.

Cassie smiled. "Yeah. Mr. Boastful."

Theo frowned. "Stating facts."

Cassie was about to utter her words when Theo's phone rang.

"Who's this deepshit…"

"Theo!"

Theo laughed softly before he parked his car in front of the mansion.

"You may go. I'll answer this call," he said and grabbed his phone.

Cassie arched her brow. 'Seriously? He didn't even bother to open the door for me! What a jerk!'

She hopped off and shut the car door, leaving a loud bang.

She turned her back away from his car and walked inside the house, pissed.

'One day, you'll see Theodore Smith. I will make you suffer!' she chanted inside her head.

On the other hand, Theo shook his head as he watched Cassie enter the house.

"Hey, man…"

"What is it, Hunt?" He unbuckled his seat belt as he opened the door on his left.

"The boss wants to see you. Tell Kurt to book a flight."

"I'm busy. I have to nail that project. Can't he postpone it to next month? The internet went into a frenzy, too. My daughter needs me."

"You know the boss. You may be ruthless, but you're incomparable to his temperament, Smith. You better…"

"Hire skilled men for me then," he said and ended the call, making Hunter curse out loud on the other side.
