There was a thud on the door and I went back into the room to see who it was. I twisted the door knob and the figure of the person before the door came to view. "Madam!" Leonard bowed in greetings. "Good evening Leonard!" "Important guests awaits you in the lounge!" He bowed again before leaving.
Who could they be? I thought closing the door behind me as I paced back into the room. Staring at the bed, I just remembered Alex. We haven't talked since three days now, I just never thought I could stay that long without talking to him, maybe I can live without him when we get separated anyways.
I got into the bathroom for my bath. I stepped into the bathtub for a nice warm and relaxing bath. Sprinkling cornflower, rose and calendula flowers into the tub filled with warm water, I needed this bath, whoever the important persons were could wait. Unless.....
I got off the bathtub and got under the shower for a quick bath. What if the important persons are my mum and aunt? How could I forget Alex promised to let me see them. After my quick bath, I got into the closet to dry my hair and dress up.
Stepping out of the room anxiously, I headed to the grand stairs, my movement turned slow as anxiety filled my body at the same time I was curious to know who they were. I arrived in the lounge with a frown on my face, disappointed at the people I saw. "Oh, Hazel's here!" Mother announced and they met my gaze.
Belle and Diana had broad smiles on their faces with gift boxes in their hands. "Hello little sister!" Belle said with a sweet smile that only I can see the evil behind her fake mask. "You thought we'd miss your bridal shower didn't you? We're here now!" She gestured her hands for a hug. Who the hell invited them to the party in the first place?
"What are you doing here if you came for my shower, let's go in then!" I ignored the hug with a polite smile. Two can play that game. "Mother, grandma please excuse us we have lots of things to do!" I said to have mother smiling as she nodded at my words.
Grandma turned deaf ears to my words, I guess she's back to herself. I wondered where the other grandma went to before. Even if I cried most times cause of her hurtful words, I kinda like her rebellious self better. "Hazel!"
That voice sounded familiar, just to be sure I was not hearing things, I met her gaze and was astonished. At the same time dumbstruck, I never knew I would be this calm when I see her again. Without much thinking, I ran up to her to hug her tightly. "Sage!" I whispered her name. Alex never told me she would be attending the wedding ceremony. Since he said she was not my kind friends.
I held her wrist and took her to the room for the party, ignoring the two girls standing on the stairs.
"Wow this place looks gorgeous!" She exclaimed as she darted her gaze around admiring the structure of the room. We were both speechless when we met earlier, that's probably because she has alot to tell me and I have alot to tell her too.
We hugged each other again tightly this time and stayed like that for a while. Aside Carie, sage was my best friend, my cry buddy, my ride or die.
The door clicked open with my step sisters and Avery walking in. "These mansion is a master piece!" Belle said to have Avery nod in agreement. "Mum said it was Alex's idea!" Avery said proudly. "Uhhh, if only he married a woman that is up to his standard and not some dullard!" Diana said Innocently.
"Diana, you don't have to be so honest, at least lie for today please!" Belle mocked. "Who are they?" Sage asked. "They're my step siblings, the one's we talked about!" "Oh the nonetities!" Belle glared at sage and I smiled.
"I got you a gift!" Sage gave me the little red box in her hands. And I took it from her elated curious to know the content in it. I tore the box quickly and brought out two cute lingerie, one black and the other dark blue.
These were the best gift ever, it's been so long I got hold of simple clothes, which there was not much different between these and the expensive clothes I wear. "How did you get here?" I've been so curious to know how she got here.
"I received a late invitation about your wedding and a paid flight to New York yesterday!" "I thought you were never going to invite me cause it's all in the news!" She smiled and I smiled back.
There was no way, I would let my best friend know Alex didn't want her here. "How would I forget you!" I smiled.
"Avery where's Carie!" I asked when I couldn't find her anywhere "Oh, she went out to get some stuffs she should be back anytime soon!" I nodded at her words.
Since it was my bridal shower, I and Carie came up with ideas on how to make it fun, and not sit in the room bored all night. "Girls, please for tonight can we push aside our differences and have fun tonight hmm please!" I said to have a nod from everyone.
I was not going to do anything to provoke the girls and neither are they. Since we've come to a mutual agreement then I believed everything would be fine not until Avery said what she said.
"For the record Hazel, my friends are coming over too, don't worry it's just three of them!" Avery chimmed in and I nodded. Without a second thought of who her friends were.
Leonard brought in wines and vodka drinks, we planned on being dirty tonight. Come on it's my last day of being fake single. We all waited for Carie before making a toast. Even if majority of the people in here were not my friends and would not wish me well, I was still glad they came.
Berverly, Maya and another hot girl got inside with their gifts. "Hello Ladies!" They greeted with sweet smiles and I heard a "Woah!" Beside me. Wait, sage was admiring these witches? I hit her back to reality and she apologized. A true friend is never friends with your friends enemies.
I was astonished by their presence, but they were here for Avery even though I felt uncomfortable around them. I mean, Berverly is the woman Alex is inlove with, she ruined my engagement party and find every possible way to spite me. She hates me the same way I hate her so why was she here to celebrate with me?
"I tried to get along with them for tonight. I knew I could pretend to like them, but can Carie do that too??
"Hazel!" Berverly called as she walked up to me. I was so engrossed in knowing who the next person was, praying for Avery to at least introduce her to everyone. "Berverly!" I didn't bother to smile.
"Here's the gift I got for you, as Alex's ex I know he would love you in those on your first night together in your actual marriage!" She emphasized the marriage part like we are not already married.
"Thank you!" I opened the package and brought out a red lingerie, I smiled recalling the words Alex said about me in lingeries the time he locked me up in his island. "Oh I also got something for you!" Maya said as she walked towards me. This two sisters make me puke.
"You all are already in the rituals without me!" My baby walked in and I went ahead to hug her. I've missed her for the short time I couldn't find her. "I'm beginning to find your friendship wierd!" The red haired lady who came with the Balowe's sisters standing next to Avery spoke.
She hasn't left Avery's side since she arrived. "That shouldn't bother you, right Lucy? They're not doing anything different from you and your lover!" Berverly spoke this time. "Berv!" Avery warned. I knew something was about to go down and I'm here for it.
"What? you shouldn't be ashamed of who you love. I've watched you cover her for years now, if you're not gonna show her off then don't get into any relationship!" Berverly said nonchalantly not minding the glare from Avery.
"I'm warning you Berv!" Avery warned again with gritted teeth. "Wait, so you're saying Avery's gay? The first daughter of the Wilson's Empire's gay???? Belle asked in disbelief.
"You mean she's gay and I've been in my undies all these while? Did you see the way she was staring at me just now?" "Stop it Diana!" Carie spoke this time getting irritated.
"I would not have you insult my sister before me. I hate to burst your bubble but she's not attracted to you!" Carie said sternly and I smiled patting her back a little.
"Thanks alot Berverly!" Avery said walking out with Lucy. "Anytime sis!" Berverly showed no sign of remorse. Which left me wondering if she has a heart, maybe she does but I don't think she has any conscience left in her.
