Standing before the floor to ceiling mirror, he stared at his reflection as he notched his tie. Nothing's changed in his appearance from before, except of course the little eye bag beneath his eyes.
It's been long since he left this mansion, and decided to just stay away from this place that once used to be a home. "Everything's ready sir!" Gaius walked into the closet as he bowed a little, waiting for his boss's orders.
Even if the best interior designers, have designed this place twice now, Alex still felt the same. The emptiness was still in his heart. He has lived here before without her, so why is it a problem now?
Letting out a sigh, "Tell them to start moving out, I don't want the maids around anymore. You and two others can stay behind till I get back!" He sounded cold and distant. He no longer smiled or talk to anyone like few months back, he was always alone, always cold and quite.
On Alex's words Gaius bowed and left the room entirely. He didn't know why his boss has decided to change everything and send everyone away, but he was fine with it. As long as the man is comfortable in his Mansion.
Most of these people depended on this job to survive, who was he meant to pick and who is to be left out? This was a hard task for the butler. Being the oldest here, Gaius was used to his maids, especially those who grew up here, under his eyes.
With heavy heart, he assembled the maids in the court Yard to pass down his master's order. He picked the once he wanted and sent the rest out of the mansion. Gaius hoped they would understand he is not at fault here and that their master had decided it.
Humans were filled with envy and anger, that could make them not to think straight. They might try to push the blame on him, being their most accessible target for backlash.
Alex stepped out of the mansion and got into his car already parked at the entrance of the mansion, he had a flight to catch but had to visit his family first for the important stuff Oliver called him for.
He wondered what meeting Hazel again will feel like, right at that moment, he felt wierd inside. Alex wanted to see his wife so badly but at the same time, he was anxious about seeing her again. Now he knew where she was, he wanted to give her sometime before meeting his her again. For a long time he was scared, scared that she might not forgive him.
He knew he was at fault, but it wasn't actually his fault entirely. If he was not drugged, he wouldn't have touched Berverly, but will Hazel understand his reasons? Does she still love him like before, or is she now happy with another? These questions tormented him, that had him almost going insane
Arriving at the Wilson's mansion he stepped into the mansion. "Welcome back master Alex!" Leonard and his maids greeted. They've actually awaited his presence for a long time now, and finally he was here.
"Alex!" Oliver got down from the grand stairs with a familiar figure beside him. Alex frowned gritting his teeth slightly. "Father, you wanted me, I'm here now". He spoke calmly ignoring whoever it was with his father, and Amelia smiled. "Good morning son in law!" She greeted for the cold man to only nod his head.
Berverly has lost the child but the Wilson's were yet to find out. Amelia told her daughter earlier not to inform the Wilson's about it as she would be doing so herself. But Amelia had other plans in mind.
This was her, fighting her last battle for her daughter to have a name in the society. No woman would want to see her daughter being an item of gossip, and mockery in the society. Though the problems of the rich and wealthy were not made public unless if they wanted it to, they still suffered insults within their class of people.
Insults that could make you insane, or make you commit suicide.
The trio sat in the lounge with loenard serving tea to Oliver, juice to Amelia and a liquid for Alex. "What you did last week actually worked son, we've made higher sales than ever!" Oliver started clearing the awkward silence between them. "I'm glad it worked!" Came Alex's short reply.
It was evident he didn't want to talk to anyone. Seeing him in this mood, Oliver didn't know how to bring the matter at hand before him. He has agreed to Amelia's terms of Alex and Berverly's marriage, which should happen soon bafore the baby bump surfaces.
"We need to talk about your marriage with your wife!" He started.
"What about that?"
"She left you Alex, how are you feeling?" Alex took a sip of the liquid in his hands slowly, taking his time to savoir it's hotness before answering his father's question. "I'm right before you".
"That is true...... Well, since Berverly Is pregnant with your child, it's only right you two get married since Hazel's gone!"
"I'm not doing that!" Came Alex's Curt reply.
"What do you mean you're not doing that? You know the damage your mistakes caused to our family and company......!" "That damage is fixed!" He dropped his glass on the table making it click loudly.
"I made sure I fixed that problem myself. I have a wife, don't force me to get married to another!"
"If you have a wife, then you shouldn't have slept with my daughter to the point to getting her pregnant!" Amelia spoke this time.
"Don't practice those mother duties with me, that daughter of yours is a fucking grown ass woman!" "You're lucky I didn't arrest or sue her for drugging me and seducing me into sleeping with her!" Amelia eyes wide in disbelief, so was Oliver's. Alex was still trying to gather his thoughts and arrange his life, that's one of the reasons he was not after Berverly yet.
Plus, he's decided to change, and he knew in this crazy world of his, to achieve this change completely, he has to shut himself off from annoying people and the Balowe's were one of them.
"Hahaha!" Amelia scoffed. "Is this one of your trricks of shoving my daughter out?" "Come on Alexander, I've always known and respected you as a real Man, don't make me doubt myself for the first time!" She said slightly irritated even if she was aware of the truth.
She had come here for one mission that has to be accomplished no matter what.
"Are you sure of what you're saying Alex? We cannot jeopardize our families name cause of your irresponsibility" Alex rose to his feet, popped out a cigarette from his pocket, lighting it up, he placed it on his lips, before stepping out of the mansion quietly.
It's not like he didn't care about his child, infact Berverly was carrying his first child, but he didn't know why he felt these emptiness inside. His heart was yearning for something else, for someone else.
The same person that has occupied his thoughts for some time now. He loves her so much and doesn't think he would be able to live on without her.
He has been restless since she left.
Alex was tired of this suffering. He would do anything to be with her again.
