Ashley went straight to Heirs Hotels to meet with Christian.
Of course, she didn't have any prior appointment, but as the heiress to the entire empire, no protocols put in place had to be adhered to by her.
When she arrived, she was told that Christian was in a meeting and directly helped herself into his office to sit and wait in the sitting area.
A fresh cup of coffee was brought to her in a white saucer so she picked the cup and paced around the office, looking out for the simplest changes the office had undergone.
She had already walked over to Christian's desk when he arrived. And even after she heard the sound of the door opening and shutting which was followed by his pronounced footsteps, she couldn't take her eyes off the framed photograph she just saw on his work desk. It was a smiling photo of him and Diane on their wedding day.
