The temple was uneventful now, not a single soul in sight but one; a female servant packing up the trays from the alter. She looks so fatigued and worn-out to the extreme, but still struggled to put up with the depletion, her skin was a white cloud-like figure and her eyes and mouth were as black as the night skies.
She misstepped on the stairs, almost stumbling to the floor as she watched the trays she had obviously put in a great amount of efforts to arrange. It all fell to the floor but she didn't, someone held her; a small fragile arm.
"Are you okay?" She watched the beauty before her; as her mouth moved in conformity with her words, her looks alone could heal a broken and wearied heart.
Chan Juan helped the female servant up, and bent down to pick up the trays; the servant hesitated, but Chan Juan seemed way less reluctant to help, doing it with so much willingness.
Chan Juan was helping the servants share food to the needy who came to pray at the temple earlier, after that she had gone to do a special prayer for her late mother, prompting her to have spent more time at the temple, another reason was; she would prefer not to meet with Eu Meh and would rather wait until they've left, and it's passed mid-afternoon, already approaching evening.
"Done, here you go." Chan Juan gave her the trays, for the first time she could observe the servants facial.
So unusual, she looked extremely pale, her cheekbones were very prominent, to the point of her bone being apparent like she had been sucked on by a demon.
Her lips were black and dry like she hadn't any food in days, she was definitely not smiling now, her eyeballs large and oyster white, Chan Juan scrutinized her for long. Suddenly, she felt a cold chill around her, she saw inside the black mist that abruptly engulfed everywhere; a rickety pallid finger aiming for her face. Soft murmurs of words she couldn't understand tumbling into her ears.
Chan Juan felt like she was about to be decomposed by her own roaring fear, her heart hitting against her rib cage consequently. She could see nothing but black and the creepy finger, right from nowhere, a face appeared.
"Finally..." A voice whispered.
It was like a ferocious animal bumping into its prey unexpectedly, Chan Juan let out a loud scream;
And just like that, like nothing ever happened, the servant was waving her hand over Chan Juan's face to perhaps distract her from her thoughts.
"Young Mistress?" She tested by calling, this time. It worked, Chan Juan raised her head up,
"Oh, here." Chan Juan gave her the trays, the servant bowed and collected them, and left.
Chan Juan was about to go take Old Hee when her eyes caught a glimpse of a wooden russet-brown bracelet, it looks like a relic object. It must be for the servant, Chan Juan picked it up immediately,
"Hey, you dropped your brace...let" Chan Juan meandered, and tightened her brow while assessing her environment.
"Where did she go? She left so fast?"
Chan Juan raced out of the temple and found no one like the servant.
"Huh? Where would she have gone to? It will take at least six to ten minutes to get to the mansion from here." Chan Juan contemplated, holding the bracelet high to a view of elevation.
"I'll keep it then, when I come across her, I will give her."
She concluded and went back inside the temple to get Old Hee. While walking towards the pillars, she saw the Sage approaching, she bowed as per respect and greeting to him; then, he stopped on his track.
"Young woman..." He called, Chan Juan raised her head up, her heart was pondering again.
As he perhaps found out about her identity, they are said to be blessed with a heavenly gift of seeing beyond, if he did then she's done for, Chan Juan thoughts were spiralling.
"What is your name?" He asked
Earlier during the prayer, she had inscribed Guo Daiyu's name on the Holy Stone, he sure did see it, then why is he asking now? That only means one thing,
Chan Juan was bitting on her tongue for a reply, a reply convincing enough.
Oh, somebody should come to save me! Her heart screamed.
While staring at the woman before him, the Old Sage caught the glimpse of something familiar,
The bracelet...
