"Welcome! Mr. Avalon and his maid who seemed to the one sneaking around here for a while. I am the leader of Black Assassins - Code A-1."

The knowledge of Zest being around here surprised Ren for a bit, but then he realised that he is in front of the people who are more specialised than Zest in terms of info gathering.

It is indeed a surprise, but it's wasn't too much of a shock. Better to say, it makes him believe the credibility of this Black Assassins.

'So, he is the leader. For some reason he is quite different from my image. And his friendly attitude

... it makes me hard to read him.'

The fact of him being hard to read was already a sign for Ren to be on guard more than ever. What he was dealing now wasn't some noble knight, or some businessman, in front of him are just some known assassins.

"My name.... Well, let's stick to Mr. Avalon. And she is my maid. Does she also needs an introduction?"

Knowing that he is dealing with an info broker, Ren thought it would be better to remain anonymous.

For his future plans, he can't reveal his face and name in the hands of people he can't trust.

That's why he and Zest are fully cloaked and are in masks.

Without wasting much time, Ren just went straight to business.

"Oh! Straight to the point! I like it! But the price... it will depend upon the information you want to ask. I hope you have enough money for it."

Code A-1 smiled under his mask, fully mocking him. There is no way that Code A-1 being one of the leading information broker doesn't know the situation Avalon is in.

Because of that magicite mine snatch, the war between Boros and Avalon is imminent.

In a war, the most important thing is without a doubt - Information. The number of troops, the location of base, the situation of the weather.

The one who controls the information wins the war.

And to get an advantage against Boros, Ren needs the information about him. Currently, Avalon is a very secretive organisation.

It's leader is anonymous, and everyone who knows him is either an Avalon member or is either dead.

The rest of his high officials - Akeno, Albedo, Artoria and Ghislaine are also not known because of their secrecy during the missions.

From the start, Ren wanted Avalon as his secret organisation. To his road to become a king, he shouldn't expose that he is the leader of Avalon.

For an usurp, he needs to have a reason. And no matter what reason he has, as long the title of being leader of an underground organisation comes to surface he won't be able to carry it out.

That's why till now, he is quite cautious in terms of information leak.

And because of that, it's very likely that Boros doesn't know much about him. But Boros who is the ruler of 3rd District for the longest time, his information is not hard to find.

But in the end, despite Boros's information being in the market, it isn't in his hands.

For him, this information is very important. And Code A-1 knows it, and intends to use to squeeze as much money he can from Mr. Avalon's pockets.

Hearing the price, Ren just wished to punch this leader to death but he calmed down himself.

"Hmm... is the price affordable for you, Mr. Avalon?"

The currency of this world is metal coins. Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum.

100 Bronze = 1 Silver.

100 Silver = 1 Gold.

100 Gold = 1 Platinum.

Platinum coins are too rare since the rate of exchange for it is too high. Only rich merchants and nobles use platinum coins as a tender.

While the common people mostly use the rest of the coins specially the bronze and silver coins.

One million gold coins. This is the price for Boros's information. And this is too expensive!

10 Gold coins is enough for a commoner to live happily for a month.

And here, the cost of an information is that high?

'I was expecting it to be high, but isn't it too much.'

Knowing that he would be in disadvantage while dealing with assassins, Ren came prepared with lofty amount of gold coins.

But the price truly blew up his calculations. He underestimated the greed of these people.

"Don't tell me... Mr. Avalon, you can't pay this amount? If you can't then I am sorry for not helping you for this request."

Every single word that came from his mouth made Ren more and more pissed, but he knows that his outburst will causes more problems rather then solving the current ones.

He just looked at Zest and nodded. Zest opened her inventory, and took out pouches of gold coins on the table.

"Oh! To think there is an inventory user in Mr. Avalon's team. I wish to have one too."

With a sight of greed, Code A-1 looked at the Zest, since he realised that she is not some ordinary strong maid following her master.

'It seems I underestimated this Avalon.'

After witnessing a rare magic, Code A-1 realised that this Avalon group whom he labelled as a trivial like others maybe is much more than what he thought it to be.
