Happy Birthday

"princess Ondina!! princess Ondina!" I heard followed by a loud banging on my door. I sauntered to the door and opened it to find my personal maid Eva there.

"What are you doing here so early in the morning Eva" I asked with obvious anger in my voice.

"Today is your big day" she said

"uhhh" I answered not getting her point

"It's your birthday..... you're turning twenty two years today" she said with enthusiasm

"ohh yeah" I said with no interest.

Over the years my birthday wasn't celebrated because unlike my other siblings I wasn't known so I didn't really keep a track of it.

Eva entered and prepared my bath which I took and dressed up. Today I decided to wear a light blue oversized shirt with a black jean adorned with my new blue sneakers.

"Should I style your hair" I heard Eva ask

"no need to just braid it" I replied. The truth is that I really had long hair , it was under my butt almost reaching my knee and it was bright red in colour just like my brother.

Eva loved to braid my hair, she always told me to let my hair loose and flaunt it but I didn't agree. She was the only one apart from my brother that has seen my hair.

When she was done I wore a black beanie and wore a sunshade

By the time I got to the dinning everyone had started eating so I quietly sat down and ate.

Since my brother wasn't here I didn't get a decent good morning or even a happy birthday from anyone. My father suddenly spoke up

"Today is Ondina's birthday so there's going to be a ball later tonight celebrating her and also to reveal herself to the kingdom"

Everyone nodded their heads in approval and I couldn't help but burst out laughing.

"why are you laughing Ondina" I heard my dad ask. I looked up from my plate and looked into his eyes and said

"so you know it's my birthday because the last time you actually wished me a happy birthday was seventeen years ago when I was five..... so forget about the ball because I'm not going to be a part of this hypocrisy" I said standing up to leave.

"Ondina!" I heard my father exclaim in a loud voice behind me

"I don't care about your personal grudges... just be there by six in the evening"

I smirked and started walking away at he said in a louder voice

"UNDERSTAND!". I rolled my eyes and walked away. Normally I always miss breakfast because of the drama and eat in my room with Eva but today I came down in hope like every other year but at the end of the day it's all futile.

I walked over to my brother who was sparring with one of his guards.

"Hello sis happy birthday" I heard, I looked over to him and he was still training, I rolled my eyes then said

"training on my birthday... that's not right"

I said pretending to be in shock. He delivered a perfect uppercut and knocked his opponent out. He came over to me and hugged me

" Happy birthday sis you're one year dumber"

he said. I smacked his head and we laughed.

"so why are you in a bad mood on this beautiful day"he asked. I smirked and relayed the events of this morning to him and he burst out laughing.

" Ohh how I wish I was there"he said still laughing

" why"I answered confusedly

" To see dad's face"he said still laughing

I gave him the dirty look and he shook his head in disbelief.

" So what are you going to do" he asked all serious

" I'm going for a fight today" I answered. Not everyone knows this but I am a wrestler when I'm not in the palace.

"what? no way" my brother said frantically

"why" I asked in confusion, he is always in support of my wrestling career

"Dad has put posters with your face on them inviting people to the ball. So you'll be making a big mistake by doing that" my brother responded .I stroked my chin slowly then it came to me.

" I will just wear a mask that way I won't be spotted"I said

" fine if you say so" he answered

" But first you need to leave the palace without being spotted" he said

" I might as well have a plan and you're gonna help me
