CHAPTER 13: Truebloods

After Jemma had left for the palace, I insisted on Onyx following me around the shop to get the perfect jewelry. After minutes of fruitless search, onyx's eyes caught a black simple diamond shaped necklace. When we picked it up, we realized it had a beautiful red spot in the middle and edges giving it a beautiful design. Onyx loved it so much that he took a ring with the same design.

When we got to the counter with the jewelry, the cashier hesitated to give it back to us, she asked with a haughty tone

"Sir, ma, are you sure you want to purchase jewelry it's pretty expensive for people like you"

" Excuse me but what's that meant to mean" I asked starting to get pissed. Since Onyx and I didn't want to get spotted,we wore normal clothes apart from our royal attire with face masks so that we could avoid attention.

" Nothing it's just that this is the most expensive jewelry in this shop and not anyone can purchase it" The cashier said. As I was about to start an argument with her Onyx stopped me and said to the cashier

" We demand to see the owner of this store right now". And she was like

" Fine, come with me". She took us to the owner's office.

When we got there, Onyx whipped off the face mask from his face and sat down, the cashier didn't see his face so she didn't react.

Immediately the owner of the store saw his face,he started freaking out

" Your highness, what do I owe this august visit I hope there's no problem" he continued rambling. The rude cashier quickly cut in and said " Sir you must be mistaken these people refused listen to simple instructions and caused a scene in the store....." before she could continue talking a hard slap landed on her face.

" Sir,did you really hit me because of these paupers" the rude girl said while rubbing her swollen cheek. The owner at his wits end dragged the girl towards our seats and she got a good view of our faces.

Immediately the realization dawned on her, she started pleading for mercy.

I looked towards Onyx and he was the least bothered about it, instead he paid for the jewelry and we left the store.

"You were oddly calm in the store,why?" I asked Onyx as we were walking through the crowd. He smiled at me then said

"Today is specially set aside for my baby sister so nothing can get me angry today" .

We continued walking and got some ice cream,as we continued our stroll I saw a small crowd gathered around a woman telling a story. This immediately piqued my interest so I decided to join the little gathering.

I dragged Onyx there and we got there just in time to listen to the beginning of the story.

The woman started

"Long ago, this continent was one of the strongest and most formidable continents in the world and this was because of the royal family. At that time, the royal family only consisted of people with one blood running in their veins, they were called the Truebloods.

They all had the same features , they had the smoothest skin, the darkest eyes and long red hair. These special features made them stand out. Apart from these features,they also possessed magical abilities,this helped them to defend the continent. Each person was entitled to one ability. For years,things went smoothly until the first royal twins were given birth to. The male had the power to control water while the female possessed the ability to control all the elements. This brought about deception from the brother and he sought to be more powerful than he already was. He went about for years gathering ways to get ultimate power and after long years he got it.

But he was too late, time was not on his side anymore and his sister had acquired the throne, knowing this he formed an alliance with the neighbouring continents which had always thirsted for power and promised them to give them all the power they want but in return they had to destroy our very own continent. The greedy leaders agreed to this terms and a fierce war broke out. It was so bloody that the major countries of those continents were destroyed and the whole royal bloodline was wiped out except for the twins. The twins clashed against each other for days until the woman had the upper hand and took the man's power.

Knowing fully well that her twin was not subdued yet, she hid the power in a place that wasn't discovered. Her twin found her and they killed each other, this caused the Truebloods royal bloodline to die and the continent was divided into smaller countries till date. This story has been long forgotten and considered a myth but legend has it that there are still Truebloods alive even right now" The woman concluded
