Once inside his Trunk he entered his bedroom where his emotions broke through the suppressing power of his Occlumency and began to run rampant, his magic followed suit and began to cause Chaos all around him. The things inside his bedroom began to levitate and fly through his room causing havoc and destruction all around him. His emotional outbreak took a while until he was able to calm enough and get a grip over his emotions and magic. Slowly his possessions landed on the floor as his magic ebbed down.
"How could everything become just so fucked up?"
He didn't have many friends, his calculative personality and ambitions caused that. Even though he planned to use the golden Trio to use as pawns in his own plans, to reach his goals by manipulating them. But somehow they managed to worm a place into his heart. Instead of characters in Books and Movies that he viewed as pawns and tools to manipulate in order to gain an advantage at the start of his new life, they became people that were important to him. His friends. Especially Hermione, the smart and lively bushy-haired girl with an inquisitive spirit and desire for new knowledge, who he could hold long discussions about many topics and ideas with. Yes, they became important to him.
Her death hit him harder than he ever expected. This whole situation was a shock, a wake-up call for him. With Hermione's death, the whole Canon timeline was derailed and out of his calculations. In the Original timeline she would have been one of the most important characters to defeat Voldemort, she basically carried the whole Horcrux hunt and saved Harry's life countless times. Without her, Matthew had no idea how Harry would manage to complete the task that he was fated for. Obviously, Matthew could help him out but it would make things much more complex for him. For one he lost most of the advantage of his foreknowledge and secondly it would mean he would be a direct target of Voldemort. That didn't really scare him and Dumbledore would probably do everything in his power for their success but it still made it much harder to predict the events and to reap maximal advantage.
Much worse was that he lost one of his closest friends in this life. He enjoyed her company. And now she was dead. Lost for him forever. A person he enjoyed to spent his time with wasn't anymore.
"I won't accept it. This can't be how it ends for her. This is something I won't accept!" he said with newfound determination.
Wasn't this what he tried to change in his new life? Didn't he want to reach the peak of power in this World so he and the people close to himself, his friends, and family won't die anymore? If he just accepted her death wouldn't he have already failed in his aspiration for the peak of existence? He needed to bring her back.
'How should I do that? The Necromancy knowledge of the Rewarding world that he was able to gather was limited to animate Corpses, some odd rituals to communicate with the death under special conditions, Soul magic, and few odd spells here and there. Even Voldemort's memories didn't have any lead to bring someone truly death back.' He thought.
"Maybe I could get the Deathly Hollow in the ancestral home of the Gaunt family and summon her soul back. Bind her to an Object like a Horcrux and recreate her body with the Ritual that Voldemort would use." He muttered as he tried to think of possibilities, "No she would hate me and herself if I killed her father to use his Bones in the Ritual. Sarah do you have any Idea?" he asked hopefully.
[Scanning Database for possible solutions… Beep 3 methods found. Method 1: Using a summoning Ritual from the Scroll of Sins to bargain with a higher being. Although this method has high Risks. There is no guarantee the entity won't trick you or demand a high price. Method 2: Gather all three deathly Hollows and become the master of Death. The Legends about them suggest the Master of Death has some kind of control over Death itself. Since the existence of higher beings is confirmed, Death should also be out there. Worst case exchange the Hollows for one life brought back. Method 3: Use the Time-Turner to prevent Hermione from dying. Caution: This needs to happen now since the Host is approaching the limit of a time jump.]
"The Time-Turner of course! But should I risk it? I remember that Hermione herself said in the Movies, 'Bad things happen to Wizards or Witches that mess with time.'" He muttered as he took the time turner out of his moleskin Pouch that he created himself. It was expanded to carry a lot of things with him, he spelled that nobody could steal from it or even remove it from him. There was also a notice-me-not charm so nobody would even notice it was there in the first place.
He stared at the golden chain with the contraception containing the Hourglass full of time sand on it. The last few weeks since he found it in the Room of Requirements he made full use of it and studied extensively to understand it.
"But in the end, I have no idea what happens if change the past with it. I know that the 'Back to the Future' principle of time travel was bullshit. Every Wizard that attempted to change the past disappeared. I am not the first who attempted something like this. While in 'Back to the Future the future changed with the past, here their disappearance signified that they either died or something else happened to them." He mused as he recalled all he found out about the small but powerful device in his hands. "They either died somehow, maybe even stopped to exist or they created another timeline. This would mean that the Multi-verse theory is true. And every decision creates new parallel Timelines. That would also explain the disappearance of everyone that attempted to change the Past. They simply entered another timeline and never returned back to their original one. In theory at least."
This was probably the dumbest thing to do. But the first Method was even dumber and would cost him his life or freedom. And the second took too long to try it first since there was no way to confirm if it would actually work. Even if he rushed to the Shack to get the Stone and was able to persuade Dumbledore to hand over the Wand, although Harry would give him the Cloak without thinking about it if it meant to save Hermione, it still would take Hours. An amount of time he didn't have. There could be another Method somewhere out there but the chance was too low to be sure of it.
No, he needed to do it now. He already said it in the past
"No Risk no Gains. I am sure I won't just die from trying to change the past, so whatever happens, I can handle it once it happens. But I won't accept failing here." He determined as he began to wrap the chain of the Time-turner around himself, "I need to use the whole 5 spins that I can safely use. Five hours back and I will be back at breakfast time where I will be able to intercept her at the Library and protect her from the Basilisk."
