The time of the Auction was nearing. On the meantime, Noah had been frequenting and even taking some books from the library to read and learn more of the different aspects and concepts this world holds.
In that short time he learned many things about the world of Elenoise and truly, even with all those books, it seemed as though the worlds recorded knowledge was only the tip of the ice berg.
However, as Noah was immersing himself in obtaining the knowledge about this world via reading, he couldn't help but feel an ominous trepidation.
Just the day after his first ever comfortable sleep in this world, Nulla had woken up first day in the morning and told him something he could have never expected even in his wildest imaginations.
----------
A few days back...
Noah faced Nulla as the latter said she had something very important to say.
They faced each other on the table of her room as she pulled out a sort of artifact, with a tap, a barrier of sorts spread out to encase both of them.
Noah furrowed his brows behind the mask, what's with the sudden precaution?
"This is an artifact that will help us keep the conversation we're gonna have just between the two of us." Nulla spoke as her voice held a solemn heaviness to it.
This made Noah much more interested in what she was about to say.
Nulla breathed out a sigh, "It's gonna take a bit of time but you have to listen — to at least make it a little bit more believable."
"From birth, I was blind. I couldn't see the faces of my parents, my friends and even the whole world. All I saw was eternal darkness, it wasn't really a sad thing for me since I was born blind. However, as I grew, I couldn't help but want to see the world around me, see how my parents look like and my friends, but that is just impossible — or so I thought..."
Nulla held her breath as Noah listened attentively, the latter did not have the slightest idea where she was going with this but this made Noah much more intrigued.
From the short time they had met, Noah deduced Nulla as someone who was very serious. At the very least from his eyes, she wasn't the type to just joke around and utter meaningless things.
"However...just yesterday, I saw you. Wavy dark hair with a mix of red, black and sharp eyes. It was you, I was certain. A young man with a charming face."
What!
She saw him?
That's impossible, even right now, Noah was certain she was blind. But he couldn't detect any hint of lie in her voice, all he felt was sincerity.
Her eyelids were tight closed but her eyelashes trembled, it was as if she was burying her emotions down.
Still, Noah couldn't quite believe what she was saying. Right now, Nulla looked blind as a bat.
"Believe me, what I'm saying is true. But first I have to say something that you probably won't believe but know this, I have no reason to lie to my savior."
"What I'm about to tell you is something that even only me and my father knows about. When I turned 8, I gained my class. It was a very rare and legendary class called, 'Seer'.
According to my father, those who gain the class of Seer gain the ability to divine the future. Even though such a class is something that is unheard of in the kingdom, there had been records of someone gaining the class of Seer however it was long, long ago in the past, only a few ancient books spoke about it and even then, it was vague and barely had any relevenat info."
A Seer? A class that could divine the future? Such a class could exist?
Noah had read many books and it was only after that he knew the implications a Class could offer.
From what he read, a class is gained at an early age but could vary from different people. There are numerous Classes to even count but there are common ones such as knights, farmer, mages and etc. but there are also rare ones such as an appraiser and apparently, a Seer.
Someone's skill set is heavily influenced by their class, for example, if you have the class Knight, then of course you can't have skills that solely manipulate elements or different forces as it is for mages. Even if you try to absorb it from a skill cube, it would only end up in vain and would even cause a big backlash.
For someone to have the class of Seer then of course her skills would lean more on her class field — the future. If what she was saying was true then she practically had the world in the palm of her hands. The ability to see the future was a very overpowered ability and such a thing should not be in the hands of a human.
The things you could do with the ability was many.
Noah definitely had a lot of questions but he didn't voice out just yet, he was still of course, a little bit skeptical.
"When I heard about my class from my father, I immediately thought of my eyes. Maybe this class also came with a price — which was obviously my eyes. Ever since the awakening of my class, I had been able to sense many things on a deeper level whether it be human emotions or the subtle flow of mana in the air. I had also developed some very amazing instincts and gut-feeling, it was also because of this that I managed to be so proficient when it comes to business."
"To be honest, I had thought many times about my eyes, maybe it was indeed because of the class I had. However, just yesterday, I found out."
Nulla breathed out as she tried to relax her nerves, "My eyes aren't made for seeing the present world, but the future it holds."
