Magic Martial World (Moved to WSA)

With a wave of my hand, thousands of magicsteel swords rained down on my enemies as I enjoyed a chess game with my companions. With a swing of my sword, sword kings and emperors prostrated before me as I hanged the Sword Saint's head for the world to see.  With a flick of my finger, hundreds of thousands of wizards and sages exploded into bloody mist as I used their blood and bones to pave my path towards invincibility. I am Ivan Chaos, the first cultivator in a scientific world of wizards. ______________________________________________ Disclaimers: This is a slow paced novel where learning and improving are the norm. After getting dressed and eating breakfast with his caretaker, Calvin brought Ivan to the examination hall to obtain Ivan's certificate for passing his entrance exams.

On the way there, Ivan was feeling jittery as if he was on a sugar rush.

Even after confirming it with Calvin tens of times during breakfast, Ivan was still shocked to find out that he had managed to pass Jumper Academy's entrance exams that easily.

Calvin understood the child's sentiment.

As an accomplished sage that has hundreds of achievements under his robes, Calvin felt that the hardest challenge he had ever faced was when he first took the entrance exams.

Back then, only him and Lucas had managed to pass the entrance exams with a sliver of life left within them.

All the other examinees either died during the exams or they had forfeited after being asked to complete an impossible quest.

And most of the examinees were less than 10 years old back then.

So when Ivan had come out from the hole in the wall, Calvin knew that Ivan had successfully cleared all trials within Insanity Hell and completed the entrance exams.

Calvin even gave Ivan a nod of approval after he noticed that the boy was unscathed when he emerged.

When the two got to the examination halls, the cheery Ivan was greeted by a gloomy mood.

People of all ages revealed looks of despair and regret as far as his eyes could see.

Clueless to how cruel the entrance exams were, Ivan ignored the depressed lot, thinking that they had merely failed the exams.

Calvin had seen this scene too many times now.

The best thing he could do for the unfortunate was remain silent.

At the counter, Ivan noticed that the receptionists there all had indifferent looks. He guessed that this was a regular occurrence here.

Calvin gave the receptionist his id card before he gave Ivan's full name as well as his examiner's name.

When the receptionist cross checked Ivan's name with his examiner's name, the receptionist's eyes lit up.

"You said your name was Ivan Chaos, right?" The receptionist asked Ivan.

To which Ivan nodded his head.

"Congratulations for passing the trials! You're the 3rd person to clear the trials this year!" The receptionist said enthusiastically.

"Thanks!" Ivan smiled back.

Their friendly exchange was watched by countless pairs of resentful eyes within the examination halls.

"Alright, could you please get Lucas to come out here? I have a few words I want to pass along to him." Calvin folded his arms and said.

His eyes however, never left the back of the examination halls, staring down all resentment with his natural intimidation.

"Very well, Sir." The receptionist nodded.

5 minutes later, the receptionist brought Ivan and Calvin to a private room.

"Sir Lucas will be here shortly."

"Alright. You may leave now." Calvin replied.

The receptionist bowed towards Calvin before she closed the door behind her as she left.

"Uncle, why does that young miss respect you so much? She called you 'Sir'." Curious, Ivan couldn't help but ask his caretaker.

"It's because my rank is higher than the receptionists within Jumper Academy." To which, Calvin replied flatly.

He'd rather not waste words explaining the real reason to the child. Thus, a half assed reason was given.

"Oh, okay." Ivan nodded his head before shutting up. It was clear to him that his caretaker didn't want to talk about it.

Just then, the door to the private room burst open.

A tall man wearing a white lab coat and mountain boots entered the room.

Without hesitation, Ivan greeted the tall man with respect. "Uh…Good morning to you, Sir Lucas! My name's Ivan Chaos and I'm from–"

"Cut the chit chat, little boy. I know what you're here for. I'll hand the certificate over to you after I have a talk with your caretaker here." Lucas cut Ivan off sleazily.

He was not in the mood to listen nor did he care about his image.

He had just recovered from having his soul burned by an unknown power for a whole day yesterday so he was on edge right now.

Little did he know that the unknown power that tortured him mentally yesterday was a ball of light called Chaos.

Not only was Chaos powerful enough to completely suppress Lucas's soul within his own sea of consciousness, Chaos had even left a mark on Lucas's mental sea to punish him if he'd ever acted rude to Ivan.

So, the moment Lucas replied to Ivan's excitement with a deadbeat tone, the mark within Lucas' soul activated.

Firstly, Lucas was jolted awake by the splitting headache he was inflicted with.

He tightly clutched his head while revealing a look of agony, wanting to scream to ease the pain but realized his vocal chords have been sealed by an unknown force.

'What the? I can't speak? What is this? Aghhh! My head! Why did I get a headache now of all times?!'

Lucas tried his best to dispel the seal casted on his vocal chords by using a dispel type spell, but failed within a nanosecond of chanting due to the splitting headache that came with the seal.

"What's wrong with you now?" Noticing that Lucas had not said a word ever since he cut Ivan off, Calvin spoke up. In an even more deadbeat tone.

"I–" [Lucas]

"I?" [Calvin]

"I–Hngh!!!!" No word could form in his mouth, making Lucas feel extremely frustrated.

"I…need to go and poop? Sure, I'll give you 10 minutes to poop. Any more than that and you'll get butt ache." Calvin said.

'I will kill you, Calvin!' Lucas cursed in his heart.

"I–Agh!!!" [Lucas]

"I need to be accompanied by a young female, preferably that receptionist that brought me and the boy here? You perverted old man, I'm going to have to report you to the academy's administration office." Calvin added.

Ivan, who was watching the whole interaction go down, couldn't help but laugh out loud, forgetting why he was here in the first place.

Okay...2 chaps a week is the max for my small brain. Anymore than that and I'll just be burnt out for the rest of the week.
