"Can you take off that hoody? It's making you smell like a bad perfume factory bathed in smoke." Jasper pinched his nose and made a face.
"Sure." I took off the hoody and stuffed it into my locker. The girl I borrowed it from might get mad that I didn't get it cleaned or returned it to her, but she had gotten compensated enough. Not like I'd ever come back here or have to see her or anyone else from the academy again. My stomach clenched at the thought. God, I'd miss Jasper, Reed, and Kento. I'd gotten used to having them around.
Jasper took my elbow and led me down to the gymnasium, which was eerily quiet and empty. Must be no classes here right now. No wonder Jasper picked this place for us to come to and avoid being seen by anyone.
