Chapter 16 - Goblin Forest

"What about Goblin Forest?" Yumi said after thinking for a while.

"Why?" Maggie asked. Link also looked towards Yumi for the explanation. It's not that he doesn't trust her but he wanted to know her reasoning.

"Well, we are all apprentices so we can't go for higher level secret realms, but we can try to gain more experience by fighting with different types of monsters. While Goblins are considered low level monsters, they are very cunning."

"There are different types of class such as Goblin warriors, Goblin Assassins, Goblin Mages, Goblin Archers etc. So it's never easy to face them when they attack with different units."

"So we will gain a lot of combat experience while facing them. It might result in slow leveling but in the long run it will help us refine our combat."

Link and Maggie were both surprised after hearing a detailed explanation from Yumi. Maggie let out a sigh and said "Yumi, why are you so smart?"

Link also nodded, he was very surprised and enlightened at the same time, he never thought of refining his combat before this. His focus was on getting more equipment and experiences. But he forgot to consider the intelligence level of high grade monsters.

Monsters with high level intelligence will never wait for him to cast a spell from the distance so it's better to improve his combat. Link also found that his own vision was still lacking when it comes to surviving in this new world. But he was quite happy with his decision to form a party with Yumi and Maggie as both of them have a good background.

Link asked "Do you have information regarding the goblin forest realm?"

Yumi also smiled after hearing his question "I have basic information regarding all the classes of goblins and a Map of the secret realm. I will share it with both of you, so you can go through it." Yumi replied and handed a document to each of them.

Link and Maggie both accepted the document and started going through all the information. Link was astonished to find that this document had all information about strength and weakness of each type of goblins and ways to counter them. After going through it once, Link was quite confident in keeping himself safe in the secret realm.

Soon all three of them started walking towards the entrance of the goblin forest secret realm.

Just as three of them left the dimension hall, other professionals started talking about them,

"Eldest Miss from Flame and Sun family, both are so beautiful." One of the professionals said.

"What do you know, they are already more powerful than you." His friend snorted.

"Who is that guy beside them? Is that rumored prodigy Zero?"

"How can he be Zero?" one of Zero's fangirls said. "He is handsome but he looks weak".

"Well they were talking as if they knew each-other."

Soon Zander and Luke also got Link's photo standing beside Yumi and Maggie. As soon as they looked at the photo, they thought of Zero.

But they were not alone in thinking so, most Mid and High-level forces in summer city started using their own channels to find out information about Link.

Soon people started passing information about Link, But they were disappointed to find out that Link was a normal awakener from the same class as Yumi.

As for him being Zero?

This possibility was totally rejected by them. Because according to them, Zero is a rare profession inheritor and he belongs to a powerful family. Even if he didn't belong to a strong family, he should belong to a strong organization.

Because a newly awakened person will never be able to get his hands on powerful equipment. According to their information, Zero used a D-level amulet while saving both Yumi and Maggie from the sea of bones.

Even though they didn't relate Link with Zero, some smart people told their subordinates to continue monitoring Link. According to them, how can a normal guy get the attention of the flame dragon knight and the holy word priest.

Link was unaware of the fact that his plan to misdirect others was successful but it also brought some attention to him.

Link and the girls came to the forest realm. The Goblin forest realm was very different from the Undead realm. Environment here was very vibrant, the sky was blue and the green forest was stretched in all directions.

Link was very astonished by the natural beauty in this plane. Even trees in this realm were very tall compared to the normal trees. Link could hear sounds of different birds coming out of the woods. Even air in this realm was very pure.

Both Yumi and Maggie had the same intoxicated look on their faces as Link.

"Wow, I didn't know that monster realms could be so beautiful and refreshing." said Maggie.

"Well I have heard about it before, but I think I underestimated its appeal. Don't let your guards down, behind this beautiful appearance there are a lot of dangerous monsters." Yumi said.

Link and Maggie nodded after hearing Yumi's warning. Even though Link never dropped his guards, he still acted more cautious.

"Let's head to the outer area of the forest, we should familiarize ourselves with the new environment before going deep into the forest." Yumi said as she took the lead.

Soon three of them entered the outer layer of the forest. After walking for some time, Link felt that moisture in the air was increasing as they were walking inside the forest.

"Why is there so much moisture?" Asked Link

Yumi was surprised by Link's findings, if she had not heard about it before, she would never be able to notice this change so soon.

"In the center part of this forest, it is always raining." Yumi answered.

"Ohh. Like a rain forest." Link said

"Hmm.. you can say that." said Yumi

"Ahh.. Where are all the monsters?, we haven't faced a single goblin till now." Maggie said in annoyance

As soon as Maggie finished speaking she found that Link stopped walking at some point and was looking towards a direction.

Yumi also noticed this, so she also signaled Maggi to stop.

"Is there anything wrong?" Yumi asked in a hushed voice.

Yumi's question brought Link back to his senses. "I think someone is spying on us." Link said while looking in the same direction with solemn expression.

Yumi didn't want to take chances so she asked Maggie to get ready for a fight. Soon three of them assembled in a basic formation. Yumi took the lead as she was a knight and could act as a shield for Maggie and Link. Link took the rear while Maggie was positioned between two of them.

Yumi signaled Link to launch a basic attack in the same direction. As soon as Blast spell was conjured in the air, Link heard screams coming from the direction. Link didn't wait for long and launched the spell in the same direction from which sound was coming.

As soon as the blast spell was launched, Link could see ugly faces of green monsters. There were at least twenty to thirty low level goblins. Some of them were directly burned in the fire, while the rest started approaching them rapidly.

Yumi was also aware of the incoming attack so she was prepared, as soon as those goblins came into her range, she waved her spear and directly cut them in half. Link was also using Blast spell to kill goblins.

Soon dense damage points started appearing on the goblins.

Soon Link and Yumi killed all the goblins while Maggie just stood there without having to do anything.
