Kingdom of Solovok!

I blinked as I tried to make sense of what I was seeing as an unsurprisingly fantastical scene appeared before me. Even though quite a lot of the structures were hidden behind the fog, the large tree that towered over everything else easily caught my attention.

Hidden in its trunk was a large castle that looked massive from a distance, bringing attention back to how large that tree was. My surprised expression lessened as I started connecting the dots.

'Right, according to the memories, the Kingdom that I am in is ruled by Elves. In most of the fantasy fiction in my previous life, Elves were synonymous with nature.' The thought stayed at the forefront of my mind as I stared at the city that was now visible behind the dissipating fog.

My whole view was dominated by the only primary color synonymous with nature, the wagon was on the edge of a mountaintop, and there was a very deep valley between our position and the city in front of me. I looked down and saw massive structures as they dotted the valley.

'So the city is down there, at least for normal people. I'm willing to bet that only royalty and nobles lived in those trees that stand so far above the ground.' I thought.

"You see that, Em? The building that has a structure similar to a clock tower on the side. That's the Mage Academy." Alex spoke suddenly, and my eyes shifted to the building situated on the left side of the giant tree.

A towering castle with a circular eye-like structure was the only thing that was visible to me. Considering that we were seeing things from a distance, I'm not sure if that was a clock or not, but one thing was for sure. 

'It's huge...' 

Magic Academy, a cliche troupe of storyline about an old guard of power in a neutral kingdom. I wasn't sure if this had anything to do with plenty of anime that I had watched of big-boobed girls waving their staffs around, but if sudden attacks started happening during the night. I am always going to suspect the fire mage, or the dude who is engaged to the most beautiful girl in the academy.

"How long do you think it will take us to get there?" I asked Alex, who looked at me with a peculiar look again.

"Quite some time, we first have to enter the capitol city and get tested in the Academy's branch office on the ground. Only then will we be allowed to teleport up there if we have the relevant affinities taught in the Academy? It should take a few more hours for us to get to the city. After that, I don't know..." Alex shrugged. His face was screaming at me that he was also doing this for the first time.

"Right..." I mumbled as I looked at the magnificent sight once again.

'...At least green is a soothing color.' I thought before I looked down at my hands again. Pale skin and unfamiliar unblemished skin stared at me. I thought about my new life, and the surrealness of the situation was slowly settling in me.

'Status,' I thought as a blue screen appeared in front of me. It was the same as it had been for the rest of my life, except it started glitching. Unfamiliar symbols started appearing after a lot of the properties as the screen shifted and glitched over and over again. Before the paranoia and fear that my one lifeline to step away from mediocrity could somehow be affected settled down, the glitching settled down.

However, before leaving, my status screen completely changed from what I can remember.

The status window was expanded. While most of the physical stats and other stuff remained the same, the mental stats changed. The last two options had never been in my memories.

'Did I get screwed over in the process of transmigration. There was some chatter by those blocks of text about applying some protocol. Maybe this change is the result of that protocol.' I had questions but no answers. The system didn't read my mind and provide any hints, so I could only reply to myself for some answers.

'The physical stats remaining the same made sense. After all, Emilios Charis's body remained the same. The mental stats are likely mine because they are clearly a lot higher than what I remember from the memory influx.'

'Plus, the last two blocks of text are pink, just like the text of the block hovering over the girls.' My eyes looked at the two blocks of texts that were always in my vision and looked through them again. 

'Their name and class, along with a number that has no correlation whatsoever, maybe level?' I guessed how someone could be already level 3 and 5, which made no sense to me because, from what I remember, leveling up is pretty, especially without having plenty of resources. Emilios, the original, had been working on improving his Earth manipulation skill for the past month, but without guidance, he had been able to just increase his skill experience by 23. He wasn't even halfway there.

'Even if I take into account that both of them are 1 year older than me, reaching levels 3 and 5 is simply absurd.' I thought as I clicked on the Lust Points option for some more information.

Surprisingly, it worked as the first thing that had gone in my favor, a block of pink text appeared in front of me, giving me some info on what had changed.

It was a lot to take in. I stared in disbelief at the cheat code for power leveling in front of me. My eyes hovered above the numbers 3 and 5 again, seeing them in a new light.

'Does that represent the amount of points I can get from them? If I can only get 3 or 5 points, then it won't be as powerful as I thought it would be,' I concluded. While 3 or 5 experience points are nothing to scoff at, the effort it would take just to get one of these ladies into bed would make everything void, no?

'I might as well just focus on improving my skills,' I thought as I clicked on the second new option in front of me. Unlike an information tab like before, a list of stuff appeared in front of me. While the first few things might be a little bit interesting, it was the last option that made me smile.

'This system might be useful after all...' I concluded as my eyes dissected the usefulness of all the options available in front of me.

'I kind of want them all, but if the amount of LP I could gain depends on those numbers that are shown on the window hovering above the girls. Then I want to focus on getting that last perk as soon as possible... If this is a world like the one shown in the anime and stories, then stronger witches would have quite a few admirers.' I looked at the list.

"...What are you doing, grinning like an idiot?" Alex spoke, breaking my daydreams. I looked at him for a moment, then closed the shop.

"Just looking at my stats, I can't believe we are so close," I said as I looked at the city beneath us. We are currently descending from the mountain, and although the gates were nowhere near in sight, with the mountain's alignment, I was pretty sure it wouldn't take us long.

As my attention returned to the surroundings, I noticed another anomaly. While the mountain range looked like any other before, I noticed the difference only when we went down. Normally, roads are created around a mountain, with bends and U-turns allowing us to travel up and over. The roads here clearly were made by the influence of magic. The terrain of the whole mountain was changed, allowing us to go on a slow and continuous decline.

'Is something like this done by using Earth magic, change the terrain by literally shifting the mountain to the creator's desire.'

There were still some twists and turns here and there, but the difference was clear. It didn't take us long to descend the mountain. We arrived at a small valley, which then extended onto a large plain area. I was pretty sure some form of the crop was being grown on either side of the road, but surprisingly, there was no one for miles tending to anything. 

The cart picked up speed, which didn't seem possible, but as the road switched from a beaten path to a road made out of what looked like cement bricks, the clutter of the wooden cart stopped, and our journey became smoother. The high walls and the main gate were visible, along with the long line of carts that were waiting for their chance to enter the city. 

'There must be around 20-30 carts that are waiting for entry. This is going to take a while-' I stopped that line of thinking as our cart cut through the line and pulled up beside everyone. The roads were now large enough that 4 carts could travel beside each other, so it wasn't going to cause a traffic jam, but while I was expecting people to be annoyed, no one said anything as they stared at us with envy in their eyes.

'The privilege of being part of the magic academy, I guess... at least we won't waste time,' I thought as we slowly pulled closer to the gates. The cart finally slowed down and stopped before the gates. The wizard, who was sitting on the superhorse, finally moved to deal with the guards. My eyes were glued to the small glimpse of the city that was visible.

The streets were as wide as the road outside, and while I was expecting the world to correspond to medieval times because of my memories, the capital clearly was a step above as large buildings dotted the roads. Several carts and horses trotted the streets as everyone solely walked or rode to and fro around the city.

While all of this couldn't change how I felt, the one thing that did surprise me was a rectangular handheld device that a man was tapping on. A feeling of Déjà vu hit me as I stared at the scene with surprise.

'Is that a fucking tablet?'
