Mafia King's Possession

[MATURE] "You belong to only me, Forever Mine" It was a great mistake for Prudence to have agreed to attend a high-status party at her friend's place. Maybe the bigger mistake was agreeing to that dance, or maybe that wine she threw on one of His men. But he did not care about his gang member. His red eyes shone with desire. The desire to make this girl his. The possession of her very soul. When you lie

"It is important. I want to meet with His Grace," Prudence said, as she tried to open the door, which was being locked by Bertha. "You cannot keep me locked in here," it was a very compromising she was put in. Prudence looked at the head maid, who stood straight and had hung the keys by her waist.

Bertha shut her eyes and shook her head, "His Grace has strictly ordered for anyone not to meet him for some time. The Elder's son will be here in some time then you can meet with His Grace."

Prudence went stomped her feet approach Bertha and take the keys from her. She might not have vampire strength like Vincent, but Prudence sure was persistent. Vincent had issued strict orders to let any harm befall on Lady Prudence, so Bertha was at a loss at how to handle the girl that charged at her like a bull. "Give me the keys!" Prudence tried to grab the keys away from Bertha's hold, but Bertha kept swinging left and right, trying to deflect Prudence without harming her.

If this was a battle of strength Bertha would have won in a minute, as she was one of the vampires, but it was His Grace's orders that held her back.

"Lady Prudence, please try to understand," Bertha said as she went backwards, trying to gain some distance, but Prudence was adamant about grabbing the keys. "I will be in trouble if His Grace comes to know his orders were not being followed."

"Someone might die if you don't let me out," Prudence said as she lunged ahead, but rather hit against the wall by her side. To Bertha, death was not something that was rare. Living and working in the Mafia King's manor meant witnessing countless deaths and cleaning up after them. Unlike Prudence, from whom everything was being kept quiet and hidden.

Prudence stopped her attempts, understanding that she was nothing in comparison to Bertha.

Her mind started working in other ways and the next thing that Prudence did was screamed on top of her lungs, "AHHHHH! Don't do that Please!"

In front of the room which was allotted to Prudence, was a similar double door which led inside the lavish room of Vincent Dominick. Vincent had been utterly pissed of by the way Prudence had tried to build such kind of lies to get away from him. He was aware that Prudence had no feeling's for George. But there was something that Drakos had informed Vincent about when giving Prudence's personal information and that being George was interested in her. Vincent had witnessed it himself at the party.

When Prudence had left the party, George had still gone around asking for her to Abiona before starting to hit on her. He was a big flirt and nothing else, Vincent thought in his mind, and yet Prudence chose to lie about him out of all the people.

It only infuriated Vincent as stood at the window of his room. From here, the main entrance of the manor was visible, and he saw Drakos's carriage return to the manor.

Suddenly, Vincent heard a scream and his eyes snapped to look at the door of his room. The scream was from Prudence, and Vincent had been eavesdropping on the conversation between her and Bertha when the carriage had arrived and his focus was distracted. Did Bertha hurt her? Vincent question as he heard another scream.

"PLEASE NO!"

That very instance Vincent pulled open his door and the other door in front of him unlocked. He pushed opened the door for Prudence's room, where he found Prudence still standing in front of Bertha and Bertha, on hearing the door open, froze still.

It worked! Prudence thought in her mind. "His Grace, please I need a word with you," Prudence said as quickly as she could. Vincent dismissed the head maid, who bowed at him and took her leave. Prudence had almost panicked, thinking Vincent would never hear her out, "His Grace, I did not mean to say what I mentioned in the dining hall. I truly have nothing for Master George. Please don't do anything to him."

Vincent titled his head to the side as he took a better look at Prudence. He signalled for her to come forward. Prudence took slow steps as she approached Vincent.

On seeing her up close, Vincent brushed the back of his fingers over her soft cheek. "How can I rest well when my girl is trying so desperately to save another man's life," Vincent said in a gravelly voice. Prudence herself was surprised by why she was trying so hard for George, but if there was a life on the line, anyone would have tried to save the other person. Vincent leaned closer and for her own mistakes, Prudence could not take a step back. "It makes me jealous," Vincent whispered near her ear.

Prudence gulped when suddenly there was a knock on the door. Vincent stood back up to turn around and saw the butler, Orson. "His Grace, Mrs Edler and her son are here," Orson informed.

Vincent gave a look at Prudence and smiled. His crimson eyes were fixated on her as he answer his butler, "Let them wait in the main area. Also, let shadow out after some time. I am sure the guest will be delighted along with Prudence to meet him."

Prudence looked at Vincent confuse as to who this Shadow was but did not dare to talk when His Grace was giving out orders. With the way Vincent had said it, she doubted that Shadow was any good news.

The butler bowed and took his exit. Prudence was left there standing with her pleading eyes as she looked at Vincent and requested again, "His Grace, please don't do anything to Master George. I was simply lying to get away from here-"

"Prudence," Vincent cut her, and she sucked in a sharp breath, "what did I say to you during breakfast today?" Vincent waited for her to answer as he took a step closer to her and she took one back. His eyes moved to her feet and back at her, and it made her halt right there. She had to cooperate if she did not want someone suffering because of her today.

Vincent raised his eyebrows in question and for the life of her, Prudence could not remember what Vincent was demanding her to remember, "You said a lot of things, His Grace," Prudence spoke awkwardly.

Vincent's lips curled as he leaned down to whisper near her ear, "I know when you are lying, Prudence."

Author's note: This chapter was shorter than usual, the reason being there is a swelling under my thumb and my fingers hurt. In previous chapters, the word count -had been 2k-4k and writing that along with my other book gave my fingers a cramp. I will go back to the long chapters again, but for a few days, please understand. Also, do support my other book 'Alpha Princess's Possessive Mate' as it is in running for the competition, unlike this one. Thank you ^^ <3
