Chapter 30

Rome, Italy.

Carlos's pov:

I smiled slightly as Alliana sat down. For a while, we were silent until I decided to speak. "How are you doing?" I asked as I sat up straight.

Alliana didn't respond; instead, she kept looking down at the ground, causing my brows to furrow.

"Hello? Is it a wall I'm talking to, or a supposedly good lawyer?" I asked, becoming irritated.

"What do you want me to say?" Alliana asked, catching me off guard. "A response to my question," I said.

Alliana exhaled loudly and crossed her arms in front of her chest. "Why did you do that?" Alliana asked. "What did I do?" I asked. "You know what you did the last time I was here," Alliana said.

"Be more specific," I said with a smirk on my lips. "Why are you being so stupid? I assumed a mafia like you didn't play dumb," Alliana stated. I knew what she was talking about, but hearing it from her would have been preferable.
