Chapter 12

"I know I was wrong to break up with you, but things were really hard with me which is why I have to let you go "said Mr. Marcus with a sigh as he buried his head to the ground.

"That's in the past now" replied Aunty Mira as she don't want to talk about their past relationship.

"Yes, so were you able to find someone who could treat you better than I did"? Asked Mr. Marcus with a smile on his face.

"Yeah, I find Mikael three weeks after being in Paris" replied Aunty Mira with a smile the moment they started talking about her new relationship.

"What does he do for a living"? Asked Mr. Marcus once more, as he found the conversation interesting.

"He worked at an automobile company, and he's into art" replied Aunty Mira with a smile as he begins to recount things about her lover Mikael.

"So are you happy being with him?" asked Mr. Marcus.

"Yeah, Mikael is fun to be with. Enough about my life, come on, tell me about your family" replied Aunty Mira with a chuckle as she knocked Mr. Marcus lightly on his shoulder.

"Well, my wife is a French teacher and her name is Donna, and she is very caring. Then there is Jennifer and Daniel," said Mr. Marcus.

"I believe Daniel must have his father's charm"? Asked Aunty Mira with a smile as she stares at Mr. Marcus.

"What can I say, even my mom said he looks exactly like me when he was born" replied Mr. Marcus while laughing.

"What about Jennifer, did she also take after her mother's beauty"? Asked Aunty Mira, who seem to be enjoying the conversation.

 "Yes she is gorgeous and also the eldest" replied Mr. Marcus.

They discussed their lives and other things before Mr. Marcus had to excuse himself and left for work, and Aunty Mira took Jason out for lunch after talking to her brother for a long time before leaving him to rest.

They went to a fast-food called chips shakers where they both ordered for hot dogs and soft drinks before heading to their sit to wait for their order to be delivered to them. While they were waiting, a man in a red jacket and black jeans with an average look and a pointed nose walk to Aunty Mira before saying.

 "Do you mind if I sit with you people"?

"Not at all, feel free" replied Aunty Mira who seems to know the reason the man wants to sit with them.

Hearing Aunty Mira did not refuse his request, the young man gave her a smile before sitting down and started introducing himself. "Hi, I'm Jerry by name, and you are"? Asked Jerry with his hand stretched out. 

"I'm Mira and nice meeting you Jerry" replied Aunty Mira as she casually shook hands with him.

"Mira, that is a beautiful name for an angel like you" said Jerry as he begins to compliment her.

"Thanks for the compliment, and you are not bad yourself" replied Aunty Mira with a smile.

"Hahaha, anyway is this your first time coming here because I have been coming here every day after work and this is the first time that I am seeing a beauty like you here"? Asked Jerry.

"Yes Jerry, it's my first time, and am only here because my nephew here needs to eat something, and we are far from home, so I have to take him here" replied Aunty Mira.

"Oh I see, so what are you doing around here because I find it odd that a beauty would just come to a place like this for lunch when there are other better places for you to try"? Asked Jerry.

"We came to see my brother who was admitted to the hospital" replied Aunty Mira.

"Sorry about that, so how is he doing now?" asked Jerry.

When Jerry was asking her about the condition of her brother, the waiter who they have been waiting for to bring their food suddenly came with a tray containing what they ordered and Jerry also took the time to request for a bottle of milk and noodles mixed with fried eggs.

"He's getting better now" replied Aunty Mira after the waiter has left. 

Meanwhile, by Aunty Mira's side was Jason, who seemed not to care about what Aunty Mira and the young man sitting with them were saying as he begins to busy himself with devouring his hot dog. Seeing the way Jason was eating his hot dog, Aunty Mira couldn't help but let out a chuckle before quickly telling him to eat it slowly if not, he was going to get choked.

After telling Jason to eat his hot dog carefully, Aunty Mira turns back to Jerry, and they continue with their conversation before Jerry receives his order, and he also starts eating his noodles. And when Jason and Aunty Mira were done with their hot dog, they drank their soft drinks before going to the waiter to order for some takeaway that they will take back to the hospital. 

After waiting for the waiter to package their order, by then. Jerry was done with his meal and also went to the counter to pay his bills, and that was when the waiter came out with their package and handed it over to Aunty Mira before attending to Jerry's bill. After taking their package, Aunty Mira and Jason were about to take their leave, but before they could, Jerry suddenly spoke up as he asked them to wait for him and that he want to drop them off to which Aunty Mira agreed to since she didn't want him to feel bad. After agreeing to his offer, they begin to wait for Jerry to pay his bills before leaving the fast food together.

They went into Jerry's car, and he drove them to the hospital where he drops them off, and before leaving he and Aunty Mira exchanged numbers before he drove off.

After Jerry dropped them off, Aunty Mira and Jason made their way straight to Mr. Donald's room where Aunty Mira gave Mrs. Donald the package they brought from the fast food before sitting down while Jason went to sit at his father's bed and started telling his father to tell him a story to which his mother told him to stop disturbing his father and that she will tell him a story to which he agreed to, but before she could say a word the doctor came in to check on his patient. When he got in and saw that the patient had visitors, he greeted them before heading to check on Mr. Donald before turning to tell them that he will be taking Mr. Donald out for a check-up before calling the nurses to take him to the theater where they will have to conduct the check-up. 

After waiting for a while, the doctor came back to tell them the condition of Mr. Donald and that he will have to go through an operation in a week's time and that they should begin to make preparation for his operation bill before then.

After the doctor left the room, it took some time before Mr. Donald was brought in by the nurses, and they left him to discuss with his guests since they are done with his check-up. Mrs. Donald went to his husband and told him what the doctor said about him being operated on in a week's time, to which he just smiled and told them not to worry too much about him and that he will be alright.

They talked for some time before it was getting late and Aunty Mira had to take Jason home and bid them goodbye.
