“Think of it this way,” she said. “We can’t just run around willy-nilly spending it anymore. You won’t have to spend all your time scolding us.”

“I don’t scold. Much.”

“You do.” She tilted up and brushed a kiss across his cheek. “And we love you for it.”

“You mentioned scholarships? What’s that about?” Shane asked.

“Oh, well, you know, after we graduated and I finally got my trust fund, I set up a few things.”

“What things?” Shane pressed.

“Well…there’s an annual full scholarship to be awarded to the student in the school of business who shows the most potential and demonstrates the most need. I took the same amount of money and set up several smaller scholarships in the art department. You know, for students who can’t afford supplies.”

“You weren’t in the school of business or the art department,” Shane pointed out.
