Theodore was inside his hidden room, looking at a painting of a guy with a moustache. He had been thinking for the past two hours about how to fix the painting that Luke had destroyed.
Normally, it wouldn't be so complicated, but the moustache had one half looking like a villain and the other like a dad one. He was genuinely impressed by the dichotomy of the moustache.
He looked at it for a little while, but seeing that he really didn't know how to fix it he went down.
As he was going down the stairs, and successfully dodged the broken step. He heard the door ring.
"Don't answer it!" Said Hayley, with a hurried voice.
"I'll get it!" He responded. He didn't want to get it at first, but hearing the voice of his sister, he decided to not lose a chance to annoy her.
He opened the door and in front of him was a kid with messy black hair and a leather jacket. The guy looked like one of those Disney actors. He looked at the guy without blinking for a long second more. And then he remembered who he was.
"Hi." Said Dylan with an awkward face.
He looked at him. For some reason, he wanted to make the boy in front of him more bothered than he already was.
"Hey, you must be Dylan." Before he could make him more uncomfortable his mom opened the door more. Making Dylan enter the house.
Dylan looked at her saviour and in a show of his linguistic powers said, "Hey."
"Mom, he is Dylan. Hayley boyfriends." He then sniffed at him, and looking at his mom said, "He smells of failure." After saying this he scapes to grab a glass of juice.
Both Claire and Dylan looked at Lucas back, and after an awkward silence, Claire finally presented herself.
"I'm Haley's mother. Claire."
"Hey." Responded with the eloquence of a hundred monkeys.
"Mm-hmm."
Before Claire could respond to such great greetings. Hayley appear and grabbed Dylan by the hand, "Come on. Let's go."
Claire, clear her throat making both daughter and hey-kid look at her for a second, only for Hayley to try to run from her mother.
"Okay. Um-Hang on one second." Said Claire to Dylan while grabbing him by the arm, "Dylan, you're still in high school?"
"Yeah, I'm a senior."
"A senior. Okay. Cool."Claire nodded her head. Not letting off of Dylan's arm. And while thinking about how to intimidate her daughter's boyfriend, she saw Phil putting on a jacket.
"Hey, Phil. Sweetie. Honey." Claire looked at Phil and presented him with a face that said, do something. "He is Dylan, and he is a senior."
Claire looked at Phil who was smiling the more she talked, and whispered, "You have to scare him."
Phil finally got it. And puffing his chest he went to 'intimidate' Dylan.
"Let me meet this 'playa.'" He went in front of him while looking up, as Both Dylan and Hayley were still on the stairs, and showed his fist for a bump while presenting himself, "Phil Dunphy, yo'."
Seeing all the show that was currently happening. Theodore almost spits his drink in amusement. His father was such a dork. He then looked at the stairs with a tilted head while thinking, 'Why do all discussions happen on the stairs?'
*Phil talking to the camera*
"It's like that. You just- You just stare down at 'em, let the eyes do the work." He then pointed at his eyes, "Your mouth might be saying, "Hey, we cool," but your eyes are like, "No, we not."
"Nice to meet you." He said with a smile.
"No, it's not." He said while pointing at his serious eyes.
"It's all good. " He said with another smile and then pointed at his eyes why muttering "No, it's not".
*camera ends*
Before Theodore could keep thinking about the mystery of the stair his dad went full cringe.
"Yo."
"Yo." Responded Dylan while looking down at Phil.
After another awkward silence Hayley finally interrupted while trying to drag her boyfriend again, "Okay, I see you two guys-"
"Wait, wait, wait." Phil stopped for a second; And seeing that Dylan was still looking down at him, he went up the stair just so that he could see him at the same eye level, and with his look, make it clear that everything was not okay. No matter how hip and cool he was about it.
"You two- You two keep it real, know what I mean, son?" Said Phil with a smile on his mouth and serious eyes.
"Not really." Responded Dylan, with the same face of not understanding that he had since entering the house.
"Please, stop" Said Hayley to her dad, who was embarrassing her just like she said that they would do.
Phil tries to be cool about it, putting his hand on the bannister while saying, "That's cool." Only for his hand to sleep and almost fall.
"Ow," Phil complained and trying to straighten his back he almost fall from the stairs. "Oh, God! That's my back."
"Oh, honey. Sweetheart." Claire went with worry to grab him, only to make Phil yell with more pain.
"Ow! Oh! I slipped in the baby oil."
Seeing Phil getting hurt, Dylan grabs Phil into a prince's carry, and helps him, towards the couch.
"Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow!"
"I don't know about this. Should I call a doctor?" Asked Claire with worry.
"No, no, no, no, no."
Seeing how Dylan carried him without any problem, Phil looked at him and said, "You're very strong homes."
Theodore cringes a little more hearing the new nickname of Dylan.
While Dylan being the monosyllabic man that he was responded, "Thanks." While laying down Phil on the couch.
"Okay. Nice- Nice soft landing." Said Phil while whizzing from the pain.
"There you go." Said Dylan while he scapes towards Hayley, who was still on the stairs.
Claire who saw how the 'intimidating' went wrong, was looking at the hurtful Phil on the couch thinking how only Phil would fail at intimidating a high school boy.
"I am on my side though." Hearing her husband she decided to ignore him.
Meanwhile, Theodore went to his mom, and said, "Don't worry I got this" Making Claire look at him with curiosity.
Before Dylan and Hayley could go up. Theodore said to Dylan, "Hey, wait a second."
Dylan stopped, while Hayley sends a treating look at him.
Seeing that Dylan stopped, he grabbed some bandages that he used for cleaning his brushes, and give a bundle of them to him.
Dylan looked at it and asked him, "Bandages?"
Hearing the answer, he smiled, with the same creepy smile that he used when making the bullies in the school pay for bothering someone from his family, and said. "Don't hurt my sister."
At first, Dylan put on a confused face. But looking at the creepy smile of the thirteen-year-old, he remembered that there was this rumour about a kid with a creepy smile, that hang three seniors from the school flag pole while in their underwear.
Even to this day no one really knew who it was, but the bullying in the school had dropped since then.
Dylan paled and nodded his head. While Hayley sends her brother a look between impressed and angry.
Seeing that he did a good job, he run towards the kitchen, while asking his mom, "Mom. Can I bake something?"
Claire who was still trying to understand what happened nodded her head.
"Yay!" Having permission to bake he went skipping away. There wasn't any greater than baking something after a good physical threat.
Claire blinked, and then asked no one, "Where did he learn that?"
Meanwhile, Phil was on the couch in a fetal position, trying to not fall to the side. He stay there for a second, hearing no one he said, "So just flip me right back, and we're good."
"…"
"We'll be good. I just need to get flipped right on my back, and we should be fine. So…"
*Phil speaking to the camera*
"Lucas is frightening me a little lately- a little too violent, and he had this mean strike that I don't know where he get it fro—"
"LUCAS! YOU WILL CLEAN THAT KITCHEN OR I WILL CUT YOUR HEAD WITH THE COOKIE CUTTER!" Before he could speak again he heard, "IS GOING TO BE SLOW AND BLOODY!"
Hearing the voice of his wife, he smiled fondly while shaking his head. She could be such a joker.
He then frowned a little and with a face of realization said, "Maybe is puberty?"
