Mabel Cee, Nothing much

Mabel got back home and went straight to freshening up. Her mom was still at work so she had the entire house to herself. She took off her cardigan and her glasses, she let her brown hair rest on her shoulders and she made her way back to the kitchen.

She served herself some pancakes and started eating, that was supposed to be her lunch, it was cold but manageable.

She brought out her phone and started typing Holden the review for chapter one. She had just finished the novel so it wasn't that hard to summarize chapter one, it was just like child's play for her.

After she was done she messaged it to him and went to plug in her phone, she would need it later for the night to watch the motivational show she downloaded earlier.

She went straight to her room cupboard after finishing up in the living room and brought out a box, the box was locked and the key to it was already in her hands so she unlocked it and brought out the diary. It was new when she kept it in the box and was still new till now.

This was her personal space, her personal life book where she reviewed all that happens to her on a daily basis.

Since she didn't have a best friend she shared all her darkest secrets in here. Even her deepest problems was in this diary.

After imputing all that happened to her today inside the book,she kept it back and locked it, taking it back to his original spot of being inside her cupboard.

" Mabel, are you up there?", she heard her mom ask from downstairs and she replied immediately. " Yes mom, I'll be down in a sec", afterwards she went to wear her round shaped glasses and headed down stairs.

" Sorry I'm home late, I really had something to take care of, what would you like to have for dinner?", Flore asked after apologizing but Mabel refused dinner saying she just had pancakes.

She told her mom goodnight, unplugged her phone and went straight for her room.

It was 9:30pm when she finally finished listening to her favorite motivational show. She took off her wireless bluetooth, turned off her phone and immediately went to wonderland.

On Monday at School she didn't face any problems. She didn't even see Jace or Holden which was not strange because she barely bumped into them at school before and that was what made last week Friday weird for her.

The day went smoothly till lunch period. As usual Mabel had taken her seat at the last table all alone with no one around her. It didn't affect her much as she was already used to eating alone. But sadly today was going to be different.

She was about to pick up a piece of her french fries and toss it inside her mouth when two very familiar boys sat next to her. One at her left and the other at her right. She didn't think they would want to still talk to her in front of people, wasn't that going to ruin their image.

She adjusted her round shaped glasses making sure she wasn't seeing double. " You wouldn't believe what happened today", Jace said happily and Holden scoffed. " Well your plan worked Mabel, Miss Willows bought the fact that I understood the story and even gave her a very good explanation of chapter one", Holden said and smiled.

" Whoa, you actually reviewed everything to Miss Willows, oh my god I'm shocked that you remembered", She said happily but Jace laughed and Holden glared at her. Did she say something wrong?

" Actually, Holden and I took the easy way out", he said and she stared at him confused, " Don't look at me, ask Holden, we had a long Saturday and Sunday", he said dreamily and she found herself staring at Holden for an explanation.

" I couldn't fucking study any of what you wrote and Jace was also a miserable helper so..... we used a wireless bluetooth, Jace read it to me from afar and I just repeated everything he said to Miss Willows", he said and she became shock.

" You guys played a teacher", she said accusingly and Jace laughed out, people were already looking at the trio and some where even glaring. " And she bought it, I swear miss Willows didn't suspect a thing", Jace said and calmed himself down. The look on Mabel's face was extremely funny.

" Don't act all innocent now Mabel, you were the one who gave us the review in the first place, we wouldn't have come up with such a cheap idea if you didn't give us the review, so if you even decide to snitch on us, you snitch on yourself too", Holden said calmly and she just stayed muted. Whoa! How did she end up getting entangled with such people.

" Relax, What Holden is saying that either way, both of you benefited, Holden got the teacher to think he was actually progressing with literature and you? How's your extra credit going?", Jace asked and at the mention of extra credit, Mabel got excited and totally forgot she was just confused.

For the first time in forever, Mabel had a good lunch. She actually did what she was terrible at, holding a conversation for long. That's right, Mabel Cee couldn't hold a conversation for so long, in such a big book of vocabulary this world had, Mabel Cee always ran out of words to tell people.

Due to that she preferred being alone, that way she wouldn't have to deal with just smiling and nodding to someone's conversation.

But today when she was with the guys at lunch. Something always came up that she talked to them about, she was glad, somehow she hoped they were getting to being friends.

Wait what is she thinking? They are only nice to her because she's been helping them. Once the book was over, they would totally ignore her. She wasn't sure Jace would but she was hundred percent sure Holden would.

After school, on her way to the parking lot. She didn't notice the drama ensuing between girls until she got closer and heard someone yell " Nerd wait up", a girl yelled and Mabel turned to the side to see Megan Pierce walking in her direction with some group of girls which she had seen in the school a couple of times.

" We all saw you today and what you were doing wasn't nice at all", Megan said and Mabel looked at her confused, what did Megan mean what she was doing wasn't nice. She had never hurt anybody once, she was sure these girls didn't even know her.

" What's your name, I'm Megan Pierce, the school's cheerleader captain and event organizer", Megan said stretching her hand for a warm handshake which Mabel kindly accepted. " I'm Mabel Cee, nothing much you need to know after that", Mabel said softly.

" Well I was wondering how is it that you got to sit with both the brothers at lunch and talk normally. I know Jace and Holden and they barely talk to anyone, how come you are different?", Megan finally voiced out and Mabel felt her heart go dumb. She had almost forgot she was not just sitting with two boys who she was helping out but the school's most popular figures. It was bound to make the headlines.

With everyone staring at her so intently, Mabel didn't know what to say. She slowly removed her glasses and did what she knew how to do best when she was under too much pressure, RUN.

She began to run and Megan looked at her puzzled and shocked at the same time. ' Why was the nerd running?'. " She's running away", one of the girls behind Megan said and they started to chase her. Megan wanted to stop them but it looked pointless so she had no choice but to run along.

But soon they all stopped. Someone was in front of her view, so she strained her neck to see and she saw the nerd hiding behind Jace and Holden. This was not good. Holden's gaze met hers and he glared at her.
