Chapter 2

It' s been 3 days since the party and I haven' t by any chance run into Noah. I hear the doorbell ring and I find Maddy at the other end with a bucket of ice cream.

" What' s going on, are we celebrating something? I ask clearly confused.

" You' ll see" , she says and pushes past me into the house.

I get bowls and dish ice cream while Maddy is scrolling through movies we should watch. We settle on watching 'Never Have I Ever' and for some reason Maddy can't stop smiling mischeviously at me.

" What is it, have I got something on my face?" I ask, rubbing my cheeks and chin.

My phone rings and I see a strange number, my first instinct was to ignore it but my subconscious gave me this crazy idea that it could be Noah.

Stupid, right?.

" Hello" , the person says immediately I answer.

"Uhmmm, hello, who' s this please?" I ask

" It' s Noah, I hope you don' t mind, Maddy gave me your number" . I linternally squeal and look at Maddy who' s now wriggling her brows and grinning at me.

" Uhhh, no, of course not"

" Great, well I' ll be leaving for Louisiana in a few days and I wanted to know if you wanted to hang out with me. We didn' t really get to talk much at the party."

" Yeah, of course, text me where and when" I say, trying to hide my excitement.

" Totally, nice talking to you, see ya."

" Bye"

I sighed dramatically and looked at Maddy who' s smirking at me.

" I have nothing to wear" , I say and she grins a knowing grin.

" I can' t wear this, c' mon" , I dismiss what feels like the 100th clothing. After a long back and forth with Maddy, I finally settle for a black crop top, jeans and a Vans sneaker. Noah wanted us to meet at Cakes' n' Cream in about 10 minutes and I was freaking out.

As I walk into the eatery, I see Noah and like everywhere freezes up. He looked so edible in a button down shirt and denim jeans. I walk over to him and as soon as he sees me his face lights up.

" Hey Noah, you look nice" , I say looking at his chest and realizing he has a tattoo. Yum.

" Hey Steph", he replies, " You look great too, loving the sneakers" . I blush at his last statement as we walk over to one of the tables.

The waiter comes over and I order a chocolate chip ice

cream and a strawberry cupcake and Noah orders a butterscotch ice cream with a chocolate chip

muffin.

We talked and talked and I got to find out that he was a sophomore in the same university I was applying for.

" So...Steph, what have you been up to, you left the party without a goodbye. I had to ask Maddy for your contact."

" Sorry, I' m not that into staying till a party ends, plus I thought you left when I didn' t see you."

" Oh, so you were looking for me? He asks and I blush. We ended up talking about nothing and

everything until it was 10 pm and the eatery had to close.

" I really had a nice time" , I say when he dropped me off.

" Same here, when do I get to see you again?"

" You want to see me again?" I ask, sounding more surprised than I intended.

" Yeah, problem?" he asks raising his brow.

" Nope, I' ll let you know when I' m free" , I say, trying hard not to come off as desperate.

" Alright then, I' ll be expecting it but remember I leave in a week and I wish to see you before I leave. Have a goodnight Steph" , he says, and with that he drives off.

I spend every other day with Noah, getting to know each other and whatnot. My plan not to come off as desperate has obviously failed but he doesn' t seem to mind, I think I like him but he' s leaving for LSU today. Even if I had gotten in, I wouldn' t be leaving until 2 months time but still, the idea of us being in the same school sounds nice. If only LSU would see that, I think to myself and sigh. I plan to call Noah and wish him safe trip as it would be awkward if I go to the airport to meet him. He picks on the second ring.

" Hey Steph" he says and my stomach flips. Why does he have such a nice voice?

" Hey you, just wanted to wish you safe trip" I say.

" Really, thanks, means a lot"

" Really?" I ask

"Yeah" , he chuckles. "Sorry I got to go, the plane's about to leave" , he says and hangs up.

It' s 10 pm and Noah hasn' t called or anything. He' s supposed to be in Louisiana by now, it' s

not that far. Not that he promised to call or anything but I' m kinda getting worried. As if he read my thoughts, my phone rings and I see his name flash across the screen. My stomach does a little flip as I pick up.

" Hey you, was expecting your call since, have you gotten there?" I blurt out and mentally face

palm. Get a grip Stephanie.

"Ohh, someone' s worried about me huh?"

" Kinda" , I say and giggle.

" I would' ve called but I got there early and decided to rest before finding out my new classes and everything"

" Ohh, okay" , I say, not sure of what to say again.

" I miss you" , I say and suddenly realized what I said.

" I mean I uhmmm….well…I Uhhh-"

" Don' t worry Steph, he interrupts my blabbing, I miss you too."
