Political Marriage (Part 4)

" I have prepared a marriage contract. " Justine says that confidently.

"We will pretend to be married, till the relations between our countries improve, then we will get a divorce."

As soon as Justine finishes explaining that, Damon burst into laughter, his loud giggling sound echoed throughout the corners of the room.

A few minutes later, after he calmed down, he grabbed the paper she was holding and tore it into pieces then threw the paper's scraps on the ground in front of her as he was saying,

"Why did you make such a thing?"

"You work hard for many hours every day, I wonder how did u make time to watch dramas as well" he continues making fun of her.

"W-what are you doing?" Justine says that getting angry at him.

"This took me many hours to prepare" she explains.

"Hmph! I am not the kind of person who would do sneaky things like that" he replies.

"Sneaky? Then are you going to marry me for real?" she asks dumbfounded.

"That is right, I am a responsible person even if it's a loveless marriage, I will be responsible for you the rest of my life" Damon replies.

"So you have two choices;" he explains.

,

"Either you refuse this marriage to save yourself but sacrifice your family"

,

"Or you sacrifice yourself by sticking with me to save your family"

,

"You have till morning to think about it, by then the news about the marriage will be already out"

Justine was speechless with her mouth wide open the whole time she was listening to him.

Damon left on his own leaving Justine alone in the training room without giving her the chance to talk back.

That night they both stayed awake the whole night, Damon was waiting for Justine reply while Justine was thinking about the choice she is going to take,

About half an hour before dawn, Justine calls Damon on his phone and asks him to come here in her room to talk.

Damon gets ready and leaves his room, As he stood in front of her room's door he knocked as quietly as possible so that no one would hear him.

Justine opens the door for him, and let him inside, it was the first time he sees her in casual wear.

Her room was totally different from Damon's room; it was more spacious, sophisticated, bright, and had a warm feeling to it, unlike his tiny, simple, and dim room.

She had a lot of furniture with bright colors, Damon was looking all around the room like a child figuring out a new toy his father got him.

"Mr. Damon, will you please take a seat?" Justine asks him formally.

He takes a seat and says casually,

"W-what is with your sudden formal speech"

Justine takes a seat opposite him and says formally,

"Sir, since this decision will affect both our lives greatly I decided to do this the right way"

Justine's way of speech rubbed Damon up the wrong way, he jumped out of his seat and says,

"Can't you please stop talking this way?"

,

"You feel out of my reach right now, it's like you aren't the Justine who used to ask me questions the whole time," he says angrily

Justine calms him down saying,

"I am sorry if you felt that way, I won't talk formally again"

Damon takes his seat then says,

"Have you thought about your decision thoroughly?"

,

"This could be a turning point for your whole life." he explains.

Justine replies to him with a deep tone,

"Yeah I decided to sacrifice myself for my nation."

"Alright, but before we do this there are only two rules we have to follow regardless if we fall in love after marriage or not. " he says to her with a serious voice.

"The first rule, our bodies will be together for the rest of our lives even if our hearts aren't"

,

"The second rule, even if our hearts aren't together you can't give it to others"

Damon stood up and raised his hand for a handshake with his palm facing down.

Justine hesitates for a bit but she stood up and shake his hand in agreement saying,

" let's do this!" as if she was challenging him.

The first rays of the sunlight shone over their hands as they were shaking.

Justine would never have thought that such an epic romantic story is waiting for her in the future.
