CHAPTER 20

When he got home, mel entered his room with a cold look on her face. "I heard you have a girlfriend now?" he stiffened at her words.

"that has nothing to do with you, it's my life and I'm gonna live it the way I like and with whom I want to, you can't make any decision for me, you did this the last time but i'm not going to let you have your way this time because i love her and I'm going to do anything to protect her from you." He said coldly.

Mel looked really angry. "Do you really think you'll be able to protect her from me. Even if you succeed in doing that what are you going to do about your mother?" She had a creepy smile.

"Even after your speech, I'm not going to back down. You will always be mine, my little puppet and that will never change." she said while turning around to leave.

When she left, joseph sighed in relief. He himself didn't know where he got the courage to speak up to her like that but he was really happy he did, he was able to figure out his feelings and that made him really happy.

He already made a promise and was going to keep it nothing would get in his way this time, he couldn't protect his relationship last time, he wouldn't make the same mistake. But first he had to make kelly fall in love with him, Just the thought of that made him really happy.

Meanwhile, kelly got home and was summoned to her father's office. "How was school today? I hope no one is causing you trouble? tell me and I'll help you handle it. he asked with smiles on his face.

she knew he had ulterior motives, but she was going to play with him a little. " The only person causing trouble for me is your daughter, are you going to handle or you will believe anything she tells you?" she asked

Mr simons turned pale at her words but he hid it. Even though he loved kelly, he loved maria more because she was the fruit of his love.

When he got married to kelly's mother, he just did it because he thought it was his duty to produce an heir. But then he met Maria's mother and he fell in love.

At a point he started regretting marrying Kelly's mother but he couldn't do anything because they already had a child, but when Kelly's mother fell sick he employed Maria's mother to be her caretaker to keep her closer to him but then his wife died and he took that as an advantage to marry his mistress.

And now Kelly was asking him to punish his precious child, he couldn't do that but he had to he wanted to use kelly to get close to Joseph's family so he had no choice.

kelly noticed her father's reaction and she was disgusted, she knew he was using her to get close to joseph. When he noticed the way she was looking at him he quickly pulled himself together and assured her. "Don't worry I'll caution her she won't make trouble for you again." he said.

Kelly scoffed at his words and left, in the past she always wished that her father would take her side just once, but that was just her wishful thinking, all the hope she has in him is gone.
