She looked at the man sitting next to her like eyes were digging through his skull at that very moment. He checked a little bit and turned his head to look at her but the moment their eyes connected. She remembered the time she met Luke. In that moment nothing mattered more than the two of them. The room felt like a vacuum and no air could come in or go out, suffocating her lungs and goodness she couldn't breath.
Her throat suddenly turned dry. Even though the alcohol she had had begin kicking on she refused to fall for his looks. She refused to feel some type of way about a man.
He was charming and all but all that existed in her mind was all the pain she was put through.
"I said not all of them." He turned the top part of his body to look at her completely.
"What makes you think that someone can believe that?"
"Because I'm telling you that jit all men are the same."
"So far all If the ones I've met and..." She felt her throat run dry.Why was this man making her feel another way? She shared how differently her heart began beating and it was getting.
"Are you okay?" he asked as she blinked a couple if times before taking a sip of her drink.
"Of course I'm fine what do you think. " She pulled herself together and raised her head high.
"Is that your ex!" He looked back at the guy who she had attacked when she came in here and turns to look back at her. She looked at where he had been looking and sruchned her nose up.
"Wait. Who? him and me? " she leot It a light chuckle. " He's not my type."
"Oh really." he let out a light laugh. "What's your type like?"
"Nothing like him." he had a skirk on his face and her mind literally knew what he was thinking of. "Or anything like you." and he immediately broke out laughing.
"I didn't say anything about my self." but your face did.
"Yeah and yours did say something a little bit different from what you're saying when you sat next to me."
"What did it say?"
"I don't know." She took a large gulp of her drink and asked for a refill.
A blond came behind them and asked for a beer. She looked next to her and looked at Leonard and bit her bottom lip.
"Oh my!" they both shifted their attention to her. "I think there's something on my back."
Sorry can you check what it is
Leonard was forced to look at her back since he thought it was really something and sounded urgent. He couldn't find anything and looked at her in confusion. "What is it exactly that I'm looking for?'
"A bug or something." she flipped her hair to the side.
"Oh come on." Claire knew girls pretty well and Leonard had fallen for her trick.
"There's nothing." He said to her.
"Oh okay thanks. itust have been my hair."
"Of course, it was your hair." she let out a fake chuckle.
"I wasn't asking uojnin the first place."
"If you didn't notice we were actually having a conversation hereso you disturbed us so I do actually have a problem with that."
"But he didn't. " her facial expression changed when he looked at him. "I'd actually would like to thank you with a drink."
"Hmmm...I actually.." he couldn't finish what he was about to say but was cut off by Claire.
"He can't."
"And why is that."
"Cause he's with me."
"I doesn't look like that to me."
"Listen, if you came in the bar with that skimpy dress to try snatch other peoples man then you came to the wrong one. Why don't you just try on another one?"
"You must be kidding me. I.. " Claire cut her off.
"Do I look like I'm kidding." her facial expression didn't look good at all and all that girl could do was do the next right thing which was to leave.
"Uhh whatever." she took her drink and went off.
Leonard was seated there in shock and he looked at Claire defend him. He didn't want to interrupt cause he didn't to piss her off even more.
" Oh my. what was all that?"
"I just hate how these girls come in this cloud luring men. to get I bet we their legs not realsiing that they are actually ruining other peoples lives and relationships cause their partners will actually find out."
"Is it relatable."
"Maybe."
"Oh. I'm sorry to hear that."
"My ex actually chose some girl he met in a club over me." The was a two second silence before she continued. "They been doing things behind my back for a while now and I found out in the worst way ever."
"You found them in bed."
"Yeah." she let out a heavy sigh. "She didn't realise how hurt she was until now. That's when a tear rolled down her cheek cause her heart was aching so bad and she didn't want to admit that. She believed that we meet people that we need to at different times and maybe that's how long she was supposed to be with him but the only problem was that he let her broken.
" You know I'm actually a doctor and I might have a prescription for your heart."
"Oh I doubt you have anything that might help me." she let out a light laugh and they sat in silence. But, this time she was comfortable with seating next to this stranger and it felt good.
"I'm Leonard by the way."
"How did I just tell you my heart break story without knowing your name?"
"I don't know," he laughed.
"Chloe."
"I think I'll have to keep you around. I like feisty, I'll have to come with you when I want to drink. You'll protect me from such." She looked at the girl who had been her earlier who was now clinging on an old looking man.
"Your sure do." They both broke up into laughter before her phone rang and her entire expression changed.
"Claire.. are you okay...Hello...Claire....hello!!!!"
