Ravan and Janaki

Sita was kept in a remote part of the citadel.She had been guarded by a large troop of soldiers.They secretly admired the beauty of the lady who was imprisoned by their king.They had cooks expertise in different cultures of food.

Early morning Sita was given a greenary porridge with fully cooked yam pudding cooked in coconut milk.She had given the freedom to walk around the building in evenings under the supervision of female soldiers .They were kind to her and showed her the paths filled with flowers and birds.

The prison was more like a remote holiday bungalow.It was a two storey building made out of teak wood and red bricks.The wooden upper floor was decorated with carvings of pine apple flowers.The porch had giant rock towers holding the eight part roof.It had layers of thatcher to save temperature.During nights the wind blowed making a noise of wolf howling.The waterfall behind the house was white and splashy.

Some nights were extremely cold.There were fire stoves fuelled by wood.They were lit to keep a comfortable temperature throughout the night.Sita had a more comfortable life than her life in hermitage.Ravan or Mando didnt visit the place.Sita was looking forward to see Mando.She was not an expert of local tongue.She had a difficult time in conveying messages .However she was given the care of the royality.

Sita had no .way to send messages to her husband or family.After all she was a political hostage rather than a friend.Ravan sent his displeasure to Ram for what Luxshman had done to Suparni .However much Lakshman apologised Suparni would not get her ears back.Her life was gloomed with agony.

Ravan had no intention to send Sita back to Ram.He demanded her to marry him as the revenge.One evening Ravan visited Sita. He was not the Ravan she knew.He was determined to take his revenge.But he treated Sita in respect.

Mando secretly arranged a visit to Janaki Sita.

They hugged each other and cried.Mando promised Sita a safe return to Ram.She did not want a sister wife,definitely not this beauty. But Ravan was consistent.He wanted to destroy the dignity Ram and Sita had.In his revenge Ravan was not the good king.He was a demon, a devil as their name Rakshas.

Ravan daily sent a message to Sita asking her hand in marraige .Sita daily refused.It had become a routine to both of them.In rage Ravan forgot that he had a wife.He did not visit Mandos Chambers .

His life balance had collapsed in venegance.He lost his interest in his new developments.He was not a good king anymore.It made all three womens lives miserable ,Sita,Mando and Suparni.

One day Mando decided to break the ice.She went to his study.She was speechless to see Ravan was looking at a life like sculpture of Sita , which was exactly they had seen in the university .Mando stood numb for a minute.Her tears ran down in dismay.She had been cheated for a life time.All she had done for years the sacrifices she made were invain.Ravan didnt took Sita for a revenge ,it was them together cheated on both Ram and herself.
