Drugged

Zane drove back home for three hours in silence. Even when he got back to his pack, instead of heading straight home, he went back to his office instead.

It was around 8 pm and most people had already headed home, which was why Zane decided to stay there overnight.

His footsteps were quick, not even sending a glance at Maeve who was surprisingly diligent at her desk even though her work hours were over.

Fuming with unresolved anger, he slammed the door shut behind him as he strode inside his office, moving frantically forward with an enraged look on his face.

He had scarcely gotten to his table when, out of anger and with a loud groan, he swept everything on it straight to the ground. The sound of things shattering against the floor gave him some semblance of control.

He didn't even glance at them before throwing himself into the chair behind the table, swiveling around to stare out through the floor-length windows behind him at the moonless sky.
