Chapter 46

"Hello?" Alex said. The number was unknown to him, not recorded in the phone's address book.

'Mr Strauss?' Alex recognized the voice immediately.

"Yes, Moses, what happened?" Alex asked. Camilla noticed that her boyfriend was on high alert, and so was she.

'I questioned the waiter and found out that he not only paid off his college tuition, but he paid off the mortgage on the house and secured the medicine and surgery for his grandmother.'

Alex knew what that meant. Never had a waiter had so much money at once. Someone gave him that money. And, another thing Alex knew: no one gives money just for good herated act, to strangers. At least not in general situations. Not that kindd of money.

"Do you already know the origin of the money?"

'A fat check in the name of Gordon Donavan.'
