From the corner of her eyes, she saw Lu Chenjun enter and walk towards her.
She stayed unmoved when Lu Chenjun sat down next to her on the bed, her eyes staring a hole through the wall.
It was getting late, and the sun was setting.
Lu Chenjun looked at the girl sitting next to him, her beauty hasn't decreased the slightest from the rain.
The remaining drops of water hanging onto her hair dripped down onto the bedsheets.
Lu Chenjun opened his mouth, "Why did you go to my office?"
Elena didn't respond and continued to stare at the wall. Lu Chenjun looked at her and asked again, "Why did you go to my office?"
Elena was persistent in keeping silent as she tried her best to ignore Lu Chenjun's existence.
Lu Chenjun took a deep breath and stood up.
If she doesn't want to talk, he can wait until she wants to.
"You should go take a shower. It's getting late and your car is still at the company. You can stay here tonight."
Lu Chenjun kneeled down so he was looking up at Elena.
"You don't have to leave if you don't want to. You can keep living here."
Lu Chenjun didn't say this out loud, but he thought, 'I want you to keep living here.'
Elena's eyes flickered down towards Lu Chenjun and she saw that he was also still wet. Lu Chenjun sighed and stood up, closing the door behind him gently as he walked out the room.
Elena stood up seeing that Lu Chenjun had left. She walked into the bathroom and turned the lights on.
She looked at her distressed image in the mirror and moved all of her hair to one side. She grabbed it and twisted it like a towel, getting rid of the excess water.
The door to her room opened again and Auntie Qin walked in. Seeing that the bathroom light was open, she walked over, carrying a towel and a pair of clean clothes.
"Yinghui, Mr. Lu told me to bring this over. The clothes belong to him, but it is new and hasn't been worn yet."
Elena smiled and took the clothes and towel over.
"Thank you, Auntie Qin."
Auntie Qin gently patted Elena's head, "Go take a shower quickly. You don't want to catch a cold."
Elena nodded and watched as Auntie Qin left the room. She took off her wet clothes and stepped into the shower place.
She closed her eyes and let the warm water engulf her. She should keep a distance away from him. She really should.
Elena let the water hit her body and slide down. She didn't have the energy to actually wash thoroughly, so she stepped out of the shower after a long five minutes of just standing under the shower hose.
She stared at the clean clothes that were carefully folded and placed onto the table. There was a pair of grey sweatpants and a black t-shirt that was way too big for her.
The t-shirt almost reached her knees and Elena had to tighten the strings of the sweatpants all the way for it to stay at her tiny waist.
She lightly tapped her hair with a towel, taking out a bit of the moisture. She didn't like blow-drying her hair as it damages the roots and causes her hair to become frizzy.
Elena walked around the room with small steps, afraid that the huge pants will fall at any moment.
Keep a distance? Elena stood up suddenly from the bed and the huge pants slipped a little. She frustratingly took the pants off. The shirt was so long that it looked like a dress, so she didn't really need pants.
Elena narrowed her eyes and walked out of her room, marching loudly across the second floor. She stopped in front of Lu Chenjun's bedroom door and knocked once.
If Lu Chenjun wanted to break up so badly, why didn't he say so? If he wasn't going to talk, Elena will make him. How hard can it be? Just get the words, 'Let's break up' out of his mouth.
---
Lu Chenjun flipped through the drawer of his bed stand, looking for a cigarette pack. After the meeting in his company with Elena when she agreed to be his girlfriend, he had quit smoking.
He lit one cigarette up and took a drag from it. As he was blowing the air out, he heard a knock on his door.
The strong tobacco smell reached Lu Chenjun's nose and he grimaced. He threw the cigarette and the cigarette pack away. Smoking was really a bad habit.
Lu Chenjun looked towards the door and saw Elena walk in angrily. His eyes widened at the sight of Elena wearing his shirt.
His lips curled up into a slight smile as he watched Elena walk towards him in the oversized fit.
Elena looked up at Lu Chenjun with a challenging glare and raised one eyebrow.
"What did you tell Grandpa Li today in your office?" Elena asked confidently.
Suddenly, Lu Chenjun remembered that Elena doesn't like the smell of cigarette smoke or the idea of him smoking. He unconsciously stepped back, keeping a distance from Elena. He didn't want her to smell the smoke and become even more unhappy.
Elena saw this and her expression worsened. She took a step forward, closing in the distance between them.
Lu Chenjun was very happy about the fact that Elena was talking to him now. However, this was really bad timing. Why did he have to smoke right then?
He stepped back again and said gently, "It's getting late. You should go to sleep."
Elena frowned, frustration and disgust written all over her face. Without replying, she disappeared from the room just as quickly as she had appeared.
She rolled her eyes and slammed the door shut with extra force, creating an extremely loud sound that made Chu Hua jump in the guest room.
Elena locked her door and closed the lights, crawling into the bed. So now he was keeping a distance from her before she could even do so.
The next morning, Elena woke up at 7 and called Mila.
On the other side of the phone, Mila angrily picked up, "Hello. Who is this?"
"Mila, I need you to come and pick me up at the Jinlu Complex right now."
"Jin Yinghui! Did you call me up so early just for this? What are you doing there anyway?"
Elena rolled her eyes and said sarcastically, "I got kidnapped. Now come and pick me up. I will meet you at the front gate."
Without waiting for a reply, Elena hung up. She changed back into her original clothes, which have dried but were now crinkly.
Quietly, she walked down the stairs and left the house. The sun wasn't all the way up yet, and the temperature wasn't too high.
Elena was able to quickly walk to the front gate, and she found Mila's car parked outside. She tried opening the car door and found that it was locked.
Elena knocked on the car window but no one replied. She peered inside and saw that Mila was sleeping!
Elena knocked louder with the palm of her hand in a failed attempt to wake Mila up. Elena took out her phone and dialed Mila's number.
She pressed her face up to the car window and put her phone up to her ear. Mila's eyes immediately opened at the sound of her phone.
She looked around while yawning and her eyes landed on Elena's huge face that was pressed onto the window.
She jumped in surprise and quickly unlocked the door.
Seeing that the door was unlocked, Elena opened it and climbed into the car.
"Let's go to the set. I'll just do my makeup there today."
Mila gaped, "What? We are going right now? I haven't even eaten breakfast yet!"
Elena suddenly thought of the cafe she went to and she searched it up on her phone.
"Let's go here. Their coffee is really good. I'll treat you."
Hearing that she could get coffee for free, Mila happily started the engine.
When they arrived, Elena immediately saw the girl that was working here the other day. The girl excitedly waved at Elena when she noticed her.
Mila raised one eyebrow at this sight and quickly grabbed onto Elena's arm as if she was claiming her territory.
Elena walked over and looked at the menu with a smile on her face.
"Can I get a caramel macchiato? Mila, what do you want?"
Mila lifted her chin up and said, "I'll get what you get."
The girl working there nodded, not realizing the jealousy and hostility coming from Mila.
Elena and Mila sat down at the table near the window, waiting for their drinks. Mila laid her head down onto the table and quickly fell asleep again.
Not long after, the drinks arrived. They were going to be late if they didn't leave, so Mila and Elena took the drinks with them as they left for the warehouse.
The makeup artist carefully applied a light pink shade of lipstick onto Elena's lips and studied her end result.
"We are done."
Elena smiled and thanked the makeup artist, helping her pack the palettes and the brushes into the bag. The makeup artist left and Elena began scrolling through her phone.
The door to her changing room opened and Elena looked over, wondering if it was her turn to film.
She frowned slightly when she saw Zhang Bing standing at the door.
Were you surprised? Here is a second chapter for today :)
