Chapter 44- Desired she learn about a commoner's life
The next morning…
Ring!!! The alarm clock went off, Delilah turned on the bed to switch it off, she was about to reach out to the clock when someone switched it off before she could.
Still dazed from sleep, she rose from her bed, rubbed her eyes, stretched, caressed Rigby's fur and sat at the edge of the bed.
She was about to get up when she saw Anna, she jumped back into the bed shocked," Anna… you… you are already dressed, w-what time exactly do you wake up?"
Annabelle raised a brow and shook her head, little wonder Old madam Chen desired she learn about a commoner's life. Annabelle threw a towel onto Delilah's face, "I woke up while you were still snoring, go take your bathe", said Anna.
Delilah removed the towel from her face," Hey, I don't snore", she refuted.
Anna shrugged," But you do so…" she responded before sitting herself on a beanbag in the room.
" Humph, I do not snore", Delilah marched towards the bathroom.
When Delilah was ready for school, they headed out. They soon arrived in the dining room with Rigby behind them. The elders at the dining table were bewildered to see Delilah up so early, seems she's truly changing for the better.
Delilah: "Morning dad, morning grandma"
Annabelle: "Morning Mr. Chen, Morning madam Chen"
The girls bowed before they took their seats, the elders also responded with warm smiles.
They were about to eat when Anna's phone rang out, her face flushed. Chagrined at the type of phone she uses, she brought it out and excused herself to receive the call from her parents.
When Anna left, Chen Xiao turned to Delilah, "How do you feel now?"
Delilah smiled from ear to ear, "I'm so much better now, thanks dad", she replied cheerfully.
" Hm! That's more like it, but I'll still have a doctor check on you, alright?" he said and Delilah nodded. Chen Xiao now turned to Mr. Tang Yu, he reached out his hand and Mr. Tang Yu carefully placed a little wrapped box in his hand.
"Here, for your friend", Chen Xiao winked as he passed the little wrapped box to Delilah.
" What's in there?" the quite Old madam Chen asked.
" Nothing important, but I'm sure Anna will like it", Chen Xiao responded.
"Alright dad, I'll give it to her", Delilah smiled sweetly before she placed the box in her backpack.
"What happened last night?" Old madam Chen interrogated.
The pair of father and daughter looked at each other, "Well, it- it was just a bad dream grandma" said Delilah.
Old madam Chen's ear perked up," Bad dream? Tell me about it, I'll have us go to the temple to pray about it".
