Chapter 95- Anna Cried With Relief.

Anna flew to her side, "Delilah, Delilah, are you awake?" she questioned, holding her hand.

Delilah's eyes slowly creaked open, "A… Anna?" She said, her voice hoarse, her throat burning as she spoke.

" Delilah" Anna cried with relief.

Liu Yi stood beside Delilah's bed, his eyes scanning her chart before handling over to the young physician beside him.

"Her fever has finally broken. The broad-spectrum antibiotics seem to be effective against the bacterial infections, and her white blood cell count is trending downward. The combination of hypothermia, dehydration, and potential sepsis was for a challenging diagnosis, but she seemed to be pulling through." He said, his eyes deep and full of theories.

The young physician, who Anna suddenly noticed shared an uncanny resemblance with Liu Yi, nodded, scribbling notes on Delilah's chart. "Yes, sir. I reviewed her records this morning. Her body's response to fever and infections is somehow complex."

Liu Yi nodded thoughtfully. " Hm, keep a close eye on her. I want hourly updates. We cannot afford to miss any potential complications.

As he spoke, he gently lifted Delilah's wrist, feeling for her pulse.

Her skin was pale, almost translucent, and her beautiful eyes, though open, seemed to stare right through him. The faintest gleam of recognition danced in their depths, but it vanished before he could grasp it.

Anna, standing on the side, trembled with relief, her eyes fixed on Delilah's somewhat confused pale face. Liu Yi's words were a balm to her frazzled nerves and with that, she fell into thoughts.

Liu Yi continued, "Let's maintain the current treatment regimen, including the vasopressors to manage her blood pressure and the anticonvulsants as a precaution against seizures."

The young physician nodded, "Yes sir. I'll keep a close eye on her and ensure that the care team is informed of any changes in her condition."

As Liu Yi turned back to Delilah, his expression softened.

The young physician looked up from his notes. " Do you think…do you think she'll make a full recovery?" He asked softly.

Liu Yi's expression turned guarded, his eyes clouded for a moment. " We must do everything in our power to ensure that. The extent of her injuries and immunity…it's a complex situation."

After he spoke, Delilah's gaze drifted back from the young physician to him, her eyes remained on his face. A flicker of confusion and unclarity clouded her features, followed by a glimmer of recognition.

Liu Yi's heart skipped a beat, it was a small spark, but it was there, if he wasn't looking closely, he would have missed it.

"Delilah?" he called gently, his voice encouraging. "Can you hear me?"

She blinked, her lips parted, and a barely audible whisper escaped. "W-where…?"

The young physician's voice sounds thoughtful. "She…she seems confused."

Liu Yi nodded. "That's to be expected. The head trauma and unconsciousness…it's a lot for her to process."

"Delilah?" he said again, his voice encouraging. "Do you know where you are ?"

Her eyes darted, her voice barely audible, responded with a question. "Wh-what… What happened?"

Liu Yi's face creased into a warm smile. "You're safe, Delilah. You're in the clinic, at the national defence camp, do you remember? Something led you here, but we're here to help you."
