Chapter 107- Cooling off

Amy crossed her arms and blew on her nails, "Your performance earlier…" her gaze met Delilah's as she began, "You are such a snake Delilah "she scoffed.

" Hey, watch your speech!" Anna yelled as she stood beside Delilah.

" I said I have no business with you, T.W.E.R.P!" Amy spelled out, her tone was filled with disdain and sarcasm.

" You…" Anna was stopped by Delilah, she glared at Amy.

Amy snickered at both of them, "Delilah, I never thought you'd be this smart to act so pitiful, pathetic is what I call it" she spat.

" Are you regretting not having the brains to think so smartly, or you simply don't have the looks to look pitiful?" Delilah retorted calmly.

Sure enough, Amy's face reddened with anger. A deep breath and she restored her calm, now is not the best time to fight.

" I am only leaving you with a warning Delilah, back off, or I will make you" Amy responded, her voice dripping with venom, as her eyes flashed a sinister glow.

It was midnight at the camp, Delilah couldn't sleep, she kept going through her memories. She really was the one who forgot him, how? What exactly happened to her to make her lose her memory?

She felt she knows the answer to this question but in a way has she forgotten, she didn't even understand what was going on any more.

" Ugh!" she turned on the bed again, this has been going on for hours now and her body was beginning to ache. She rose from the bed and left the room.

She'd just closed the door when she saw someone walking down the hallway, towards her direction.

" Who…" she questioned softly.

The figure was tall and had a commanding aura, "Cadet Chen should be in bed now, if I am not wrong?" she heard that voice and somehow, in some weird way, her troubled heart calmed.

Delilah lowered her eyes, "Yes sir, I just… I just couldn't sleep" she responded softly, accompanied by an inaudible sigh.

" Hm, if that is the case, I'll have the doctor run a test" Zhang Han suggested, he turned around to find a nurse.

Delilah panicked, "No, I… I mean… no, it's just that I need to cool off, have some fresh air, you know?" she stuttered.

" Cool… off?" Zhang Han was confused, was she feeling unwell?

Delilah almost burst out laughing, like seriously, how old is this man "Yes sir, it is like the calm after a storm, or in the case of humans, it's like a state of calm after an agitation"

Zhang Han eventually understood, "Oh, were you agitated, who upset you?" he asked seriously.

Delilah didn't know why, but she enjoys talking to this stoic man, "Ah, it's not that I was upset, I was only… never mind sir, it's just teenager stuffs, you know" she shrugged, her lips pressed in a straight line.

Zhang Han nodded, "Can I join you in cooling-off then?" he suddenly asked.

Delilah turned dumb from shock, she stood frozen as she stared back at Zhang Han, "Oh… Okay" she nodded, it wouldn't be too bad to have a company.

Zhang Han and Delilah, after strolling the field for a while, sat on a bench beside Zhang Han's cabin.

" The stars are so beautiful tonight, don't you think sir?" Delilah stretched, her arms between her legs as she gazed at the night sky.
