"I keep your promise. Go and don't look back again." Ronnie said then turned his gaze to another direction so that he could let Justine go.
While wiping the tears that welled up in the corners of his eyes Justine got out of the car and took his suitcase.
As Ronnie said, Justine walked towards the airport door without looking back.
"Goodbye Uncle, I promise you I will seek justice for Momy and Daddy. I will clear their names and restore them as heroes not as traitors to the country." said Justine with bated breath walking quickly into the airport waiting room.
"BRUKKKK"
"BRAAKK"
"Oucchh!!" Justine screamed muffled as a grown woman bumped into his and one of her suitcases fell from the trolley hitting his leg.
"Sorry Sorry!! does it hurt?!" asked the adult woman with a straight body and the appearance of a military woman.
Justine could only shake his head while gesturing with his finger it was okay.
"Thank goodness you're okay." The woman said with a smile then took her suitcase and put it back on the trolley.
Justine stood where he was looking at the woman's agility in lifting her suitcase. Especially with the uniform that the woman was wearing, there were several stars on her shoulders.
"What's up young man? why are you looking at me like that? do you still not forgive me?" the woman asked, looking surprised to see Justine still standing where he was.
Justine didn't answer the woman's question but could only stare into her eyes.
The woman shook her head with a smile seeing Justine's fixation on her.
Still, with a smile, the woman left her place leaving Justine who was still standing rooted to his spot.
Justine straightened his back and snapped out of her thoughts when he heard the warning sound of an imminent departure.
With a little running, Justine immediately checked in. Without waiting at the departure point again Justine handed his ticket to the airport staff.
After doing the boarding pass, Justine got into the plane which was already full of passengers. A flight attendant shows her seat in the middle of the plane.
Without looking around again Justine sat down in his chair and placed his bag on his lap.
Closing his eyes Justine tried to stay calm because it was the first time he had been on a plane. It's not that you're afraid to get on a plane, it's just that you're nervous about not wanting to look stupid on the plane.
Not long after closing his eyes, Justine felt something warm touch the back of his hand.
Justine slowly opened his eyes and turned to someone who had dared to touch the back of his hand. Justine's eyes did not blink when he saw the face of the woman he saw a few minutes ago beside him.
"Hey, looks like you forgot to put your seat belt on." said the woman in a friendly manner even though it was very hard on her face.
Without replying to the woman's words, Justine quickly buckled his seatbelt and closed his eyes again.
"Why do I have to meet this woman again? The look in her eyes is like she's stripping me." Justine said to himself as he hugged his bag to reduce his nervousness.
"Hey." the woman called again, touching the back of Justine's hand. Justine had to open his eyes again and look at the woman who had disturbed his composure.
"My name is Renata, just call me Rey. What's your name?" Reynata asked with a friendly look.
Justine was silent not knowing what to say. His condition that it is difficult to speak makes him go awry. Moreover, Reynata had already introduced herself.
"Can't I know your name?" Reynata asked with a full look into Justine's eyes.
Getting such a stare from Reynata, Justine became more flustered then took out his little note and wrote something for Reynata and showed it.
"SORRY I CAN'T TALK"
Justine wrote with a heart that was ready that Reynata would back down and wouldn't know his name.
After reading Justine's writing, Reynata was silent for a moment then looked back at him.
"You can't talk? but you can do hand sign language right??" Reynata asked without any change on her face other than a stern but friendly demeanor.
Justine nodded his head confirming Reynata's statement that he could speak sign language.
"If you can speak sign language, we'll just talk in sign language," Reynata said with a smile.
Again Justine was silent in his place by surprised Reynata's figure who looked stern in military clothes and now Renata is showing her ability to master sign language.
"Do you want to talk to me now?" Reynata asked using sign language that made Justine sure that Reynata could be trusted with everything she said.
"Okay," Justine said with a heavy feeling using sign language.
"I'm glad to meet you. You already know my name right? Now tell me what's your name?" Reynata asked casually in sign language though she didn't need to because Justine could still hear.
With a look on Reynata's face, Justine wrote his name clearly and showed it to Reynata.
"JUSTINE"
"Good name. May I know where are you going? I know where this plane is going to New York. But I don't know which airport you get off at?" Reynata asked with a serious face.
"Stewart Airport," Justine said curtly.
"Oh yeah?? do you have any relatives there?" Reynata asked not believing that Justine would disembark at Stewart Airport, a military area that is more dominant than a military city.
Justine nodded his head feeling a little awkward talking to Reynata who looked older than him. Moreover, Reynata's questions made him uncomfortable.
"Hmm... I've asked you a lot. Don't you want to ask me something? you can ask how old I am. Or which city do I want to go to??" Reynata said in the sign language she had mastered while teaching children at a special school in a remote village.
