LOVE IN HATE IN LOVE

“I only want you, Maximus. I already told my parents that I love you and I'm going to marry you. No one else.” Aurora indignantly exclaimed. Max was shaking his head from what he heard. “No. No. You’re not being fair, Aurora.” He felt himself losing his strength as well as any chance to change her mind. Max leaned his body at the back of the single chair, almost sitting on it. He tugged on his necktie, needing some more air. His gaze fell on the ground. He’s powerless against his father. He won’t be able to protect his girlfriend from his family. He didn’t notice that Aurora was already in front of him. He just felt her palm on his cheeks, caressing it gently. He looked up to her. “You’re not fair.” He mumbled weakly. Like a defeated child. She’s rubbing her thumb against his cheeks. “The world’s not fair, Max.” Shaking her head. “It’s never fair.” She commented breathlessly. “You get everything you want.” He ignored her actions. He’d gone numb all over. This girl was too much of everything. Too selfish to even understand how he felt. “No. I don’t have your heart.” Max swatted her hand away and stood up straight. He chuckled at her response and halted. He shook his head as he looked at her straight in the eyes. “You won’t. You don’t even have one.” ************** Aurora Fontalva got everything except the heart of a certain man. She only wants Max. But how can she make him fall for her when he already had someone? He loves his girlfriend. Maximus D’Arco can’t escape his family’s wish for him to marry the only Fontalva heiress. Worse, Aurora even blackmailed him, or his girlfriend would suffer. Why would he fall for someone who doesn’t even care about his feelings? Only his girlfriend does. Is there really a thin line between love and hate? What if the thread breaks? **************** AN: Be warned!!! This is not your typical romance. CHAPTER 6

CHAPTER 6

That made her eyebrows lift. It's a good thing that he did not notice her. She hoped none of her friends would look her way.

"NO. Un amica. 1st anno." 'No. A friend. 1st year.' Max stopped at what he was doing and faced his friend.

Aurora decided to take a seat at the bench near her. She ran her hand through her hair as she opened her phone to check some messages from her dad. She was listening to the surroundings, though.

Ade turned to her friend who was now sitting on a bench. She wanted to walk up to her to say that she could go upstairs first to take her rest.

"E lei?" 'How about her?' Aurora lifted her gaze, and she was right. Max's friend was now talking about her because he was looking in her direction.

Max glanced at her for a second before he answered. "È un'amica di famiglia." 'She's a family friend.'

"Posso chiedere I loro nomi?" 'Can I ask their names?'

Ade was the one who answered behind Max. "Ciao, mi chiamo Adelina, Ade in breve." 'Hello, my name is Adelina, Ade for short.' Ade introduced herself and offered a handshake. The guy accepted it.

"Matteo, Ade. Nice to meet you." He smiled at her.

He attempted to move aside to get to Aurora, but Ade came forward, blocking his way to her. "Quella è la signorina Aurora. Mi dispiace. La mia signora non è dell'umore giusto in questo momento. È stanca per il viaggio." 'That is Miss Aurora. I'm sorry. My lady is not in the mood right now. She's tired from traveling.' This was one of the moments that she's thankful for having Ade as a friend. She simply knew her.

Disappointment was visible on his face that he couldn't get to her. She gave him a small smile, though. Acknowledging his kind understanding not to make a step.

"Sono Matteo, signorina Aurora." 'I'm Matteo, miss Aurora.' He still introduced himself despite the distance. She nodded. He somehow retreated and turned to Ade. "Vai all'UNIBO? Posso farti fare un giro domani se vuoi." 'You go in UNIBO? I can give you a tour tomorrow if you would like.'

"Scusa. Mi hanno già dato l'onore di farlo." 'Sorry, man. They already gave me the honor of doing that.' Max stepped in. He wanted the conversation to end already so that he could resume what he was doing and so the girls could finally get some rest.

That made Ade's forehead knot. She recalled if he said something like it earlier or maybe he and Aurora already had the agreement when she left them. But he gave Matteo a smile, and he was obviously disappointed. "Grazie per l'offerta comunque, Matt." 'Thanks for the offer by the way, Matt.'

"Va bene. Il campus di Rimini comunque non è poi così grande. Ci vedremo in giro." 'It's okay. Campus Rimini is not that big anyway. We'll be seeing each other around.' He said, not giving up.

"Ovviamente." 'Of course.' Ade agreed.

Matteo glanced at the car, and whistled. He looked at Aurora's direction. "Ottima macchina. Ci vediamo al campus, ragazze." 'Great car. See you at campus, ladies.'

"Grazie." Thank you. Aurora's mere reply and gave him a small smile.

Matteo nodded to Ade and glanced at Max. "Allora andrò, amico." 'I'll be going then, man.'

"Sicuro. Ci vediamo in giro." 'Sure. See you around.'

Matteo resumed on his jogging but before he turned around, she gave a last glance towards Aurora, which she didn't notice because her eyes were on her phone already. But her two other friends noticed it.

"I'm sorry for turning down his offer for you girls. I did that to finish this quickly so that you two could take a rest then." Max explained, looking at Aurora. He wanted to see her eyes directly to somehow had a clue what's on her mind. He had the urge to take the sunglasses off her face since earlier.

"Would you take responsibility, then?" The side of her sweet lips curved into a smirk. It was distracting when he remembered how soft those were.

He took a step in her direction. There's that arrogant air around her. She folded her long legs and crossed her arms. It made her chest more profound. This woman was too gifted. Luscious curves in all the right places. She got a fit body, not too skinny that when he held her she would easily break. It's obvious that she takes care of her body consciously.

He stopped in front of her. She raised her head to look at him. His hands were itching to remove the sunglasses off her face, so he closed his fists to stop himself. "Sarebbe un onore farvi un giro, signorina Fontalva." 'It would be an honor to give you a tour, signorina Fontalva.' He said formally. Her face turned serious as well.

Max was hiding the sun to Aurora's direction by his figure. The sun behind him was giving him that predatory shadow. She stood up. She didn't think that they would be standing too close against each other. She noticed that he got surprised as well but he didn't budge on his spot. A smile gradually tugged on her lips as she took off her sunglasses. She stared up at him. She doesn't know if it were just her imagination but she noticed that his breath hitched when they finally gazed at each other's eyes directly.

"L'onore è mio, signorino D'Arco." 'The honor is mine, signorino D'Arco.' Her formal respond to him before she walked away and went to her car. She turned around to the passenger side. She opened the compartment to keep her sunglasses there and she closed it again.

A few seconds before Max moved from the spot. He shook his head to sober up his mind. He focused his entire attention to the remaining boxes and transferred them into the trolley. Some of them were indeed a bit heavy for the girls to lift.

But his thoughts went back again to his childhood friend. He hoped that she shouldn't have taken off the sunglasses. He was in a daze when he saw her eyes directly and closely. Her hazel eyes with gold flecks around the ring, like the rays of the sun. How mesmerizing to look at. The way she stared was kind of seductive. Her eyes could easily make anyone feel drunk just by looking at it. He groaned inwardly. He wanted to kick himself for thinking such things.

Ade was watching the two at the side. She couldn't say anything because she felt like she was in a set of a romantic scene. The two was oozing with chemistry. No matter how they try to hide it, they smelled of loveteam. She's trying hard not to shriek in delight or otherwise her signorina would pinch her for sure.
