Savanna narrowed her tearful eyes and looked at Brandon who came in. He did not look at Savanna, but walked to the terrace while talking on the phone.
With the sound of the glass door closing, Brandon's voice was isolated outside the door.
It was destined to be a sleepless night.
The soft rain fell on Brandon's shoulder. He did not seem to care. His eyes were focused and firm as he stared in the direction of Ireland.
Tears rolled down from the corners of Savanna's eyes and fell on her soft hair. She looked at Brandon in a daze.
Savanna's heart was beating wildly. She wanted to give him a coat, but she was afraid of being rejected by him. She knew that he hated her and even wished he could kill her.
At this point, Brandon could not accompany his beloved woman through this crisis.
And he blamed it on Savanna.
After a long time...
Savanna saw Brandon had finished speaking on the phone and turned around. His eyes were dim and he seemed to be absent-minded. The cold air around him seemed to freeze.
Suddenly, Brandon quickly picked up the phone again. Savanna didn't know what the person at the other end of the line had said, but the displeasure on Brandon's face disappeared.
When Brandon pulled open the glass door and entered, he had already hung up the call. He raised his head and met Savanna's eyes.
"Still not asleep?"
"I just woke up. Is Winnie's surgery over?"
"Yes," Brandon answered.
He did not seem to want to say more. He took off his jacket and pants and lay down beside Savanna.
"Go to sleep."
He turned off the lamp.
The room suddenly quieted down. However, Savanna could not calm down for a long time. Brandon did not seem to be able to sleep well. He tossed and turned several times. Savanna moved her body towards him. Brandon habitually reached out and held her in his arms.
The phone flashed with blue light, indicating that she had received messages. Savanna clicked the phone.
"Savanna, shame on you! Brandon's in love with other women! If I die, he will hate you to death!"
Looking at the text message that was full of threatening words from Winnie, Savanna had mixed feelings in her heart. But the message could not become any evidence at all as it was automatically deleted by the application.
She clenched her fist, her nails pressing against her palm. She ignored the pain. Her eyes moved from the phone to Brandon. The moonlight outside the window fell on Brandon's handsome face. Even though he was asleep, he still frowned. He was worried about Winnie's surgery, but how could a person lying on the operating bed send a message?
Unable to fall asleep for a long time, Savanna took half a pill. Finally, she fell asleep.
Savanna woke up at dusk the next day.
Savanna stood in the living room, looking out the window at the setting sun.
She asked Leo, "Is Brandon in the company?"
Leo frowned and wondered if he should tell her the truth.
Savanna saw the change of expressions on Leo's face.
She said impatiently, "I want to hear the truth."
"Mrs. Cassel, Winnie didn't make it. Mr. Cassel rushed over early this morning."
Savanna thought in shock, Winnie died?
Savanna clenched her fists. Her face was pale, and a mocking smile appeared on her face.
At this point, Debbie came out of the kitchen with oatmeal. She filled a bowl of oatmeal and handed it to Savanna.
"Mrs. Cassel, don't worry. That kind of woman's death is not worthy of pity. After she dies, you and Mr. Cassel will be fine."
Savanna took the bowl of oatmeal that Debbie handed over and sat down. She ate the oatmeal, but she felt it was tasteless. Debbie was talking about something again, but she did not listen to it. Leo also did not say anything. Debbie felt bored and stopped talking.
Savanna returned to her bedroom after breakfast. Several times, she wanted to call Brandon and tell him that Winnie had faked her death. But she hung up before it got through.
For two whole days, she had not contacted Brandon, and Brandon had not called back.
When Savanna received the news that Brandon was coming back, it was on the morning of the third day. Savanna had just gotten up when Debbie went upstairs to tell her that Brandon's private plane was coming back soon. Savanna did not even have time to put on her slippers before she ran downstairs.
As soon as she ran to the door, she saw the black Cayenne drive into the villa quickly. The car went out. Leo opened the trunk and took out an urn from it.
Brandon had just gotten out of the car when the sound of a horn came from afar and drew everyone's attention.
The red BMW sped over and stopped behind the Cayenne.
A woman got out of the car. She was wearing a black gown that wrapped around her curvaceous figure. She had a noble temperament and was graceful. She walked up to Leo and took the urn from his hand. She threw it away and the urn fell to the ground. The ashes were scattered all over the ground.
Brandon looked at the ashes that were flying in the air. His eyes were filled with anger. His two hands that were hanging by his side clenched into fists.
"Mom, what do you want?"
"As long as I am alive, this woman will not be allowed to enter the door of the Cassel family."
Giselle was so excited that she was on the verge of collapse. It was not that she could not accept Winnie, but what Winnie did was similar to Terri in the past. In order to marry into the Cassel family, Terri used countless shameless methods on Giselle. Even if Terri died in the end, Giselle and Harris didn't reconcile.
For Giselle, Winnie was a home wrecker just like Terri.
"Leo, put the ashes in the urn."
Brandon looked at Leo.
Leo took the broom when Giselle snatched the broom from Leo's hand and threw it far away.
Brandon's face was gloomy.
He said to Giselle, "It's fine if you don't allow her to enter the Cassel's house. I will bring her to my house. Did this also make you feel uncomfortable?"
"Have you thought about Savanna's feelings?"
Giselle was so angry with her son's behavior that her lips trembled, and she questioned her son angrily.
Brandon glanced at Savanna, who was like a statue, and let out a cold snort.
"How can she feel? Wasn't all this caused by her?"
After hearing Brandon's words, Savanna clenched her fists as hard as she could. Blood dripped from her palm. Her heart was wrapped in dense pain.
She said word by word, "Do you mean it's me who killed her?"
Seeing that Brandon pursed his lips and did not speak, Savanna was heartbroken. Her tone carried a slight tremor that was hard to sense.
"Today, in front of Mom, let's make things clear. Winnie had been weak before, hadn't she? You told me that you were going to Ireland for a business trip. In fact, you were going to accompany her to have an operation. I don't know how Mom found out that you were going to meet her, and I didn't ask Mom to force you back."
If her infatuation was exchanged for a joke, then she did not want to continue.
"Savanna didn't say anything to me. Debbie told me that."
Upon hearing that, Brandon glared at Debbie and then at Savanna. The meaning was obvious. Debbie and Savanna were together all day long. He thought what Debbie did was naturally directed by Savanna.
Savanna's body swayed, and she almost fell to the ground.
Brandon's suspicion broke Savanna's heart.
"Brandon."
Savanna's pale lips moved.
Then, she no longer looked at Brandon with infatuation.
She said softly, "You can put the urn at home, but there can't be two hostesses in this villa. I will sign the divorce agreement with you later."
