dark past that followed us (1) Vivi POV

I walk to my department locker room. I want to takes some books. when I want to open it, I realizes there's something stick in front of my locker. it's a sticky note. I takes it and read the word written there

"it's been a while, I miss you so much. we will meet soon"

I flip the note hope there will be a clue about the sender. but there's nothing, no name, no initial.

i open my locker and get some books. I squeezes the note and throw at the bin while I walking to my class.

I not thinking about the note at all. i just think maybe it's a prank.

my class is over, i walking out from my class and bump to someone. I dropped my books and my bag. my stuff is get out from my bag and fall on the floor. i try to get all the stuff. the person i bumped to is helping. he wears black hodie and black cap and wear a mask. i can't see his face clearly.

"I'm sorry" he said

"it's okay, thank you" I answer

but after a while I feels familiar with the voice but the boy already walk. i try to follow him but I got a call

"Oh, hello, Song"

"where are you?"

"my class just finished. I'm on the way to your place" I keep talking while try to find the boy. but he dissapeared, i can't look him anywhere.

I comes to restaurant where Hyo Joo work. we had a promise to eat dinner together here.

"here" Song wave to me

"I'm sorry everyone"

"it's okay, we're not starting yet" Bom said

"Where's Hyo Joo?" I ask

"she still serves another table. but now you here we can order the food" Nana answer

"but, Hyun Jae isn't here?" I ask again

"hm, I don't know. he's been busy lately. I tried to call him but he didn't answer. " Song answer

"hi, are you ready to order?" Hyo Joo comes to our table

"we will order this menu" Song point some menu, grilled meat, rice, perilla leaf, shrimp stew and some side dish.

"okay, please wait" Hyo Joo smile to us

sometimes I just feel Hyo Joo so calm in every situation. she never express her worry or looks angry. but that's behave also makes me question her in positive way , how she can become so calm. I just know her for several months but I really want to be friend with her.

Hyo Joo come and serves our table

"Hey, eat with us" Nana said

"I can't, I still working" she answer

Nana looks bit disappointed

we eat together. I look at how Hyo Joo works, she really patient and nit losing her temper while serves many grumpy people.

"Hyo Joo, we will back now" Nana said

"Ah, okay. be careful " Hyo joo answer

"still can't contact Hyun Jae?" Bom asks

Hyo Joo just move her head

"where that punk goes?" Song scratch his hair

"I gonna check on his appartment on my way back" Bom said

"thank you" Hyo Joo said

we walk out from the restaurant and walking at the street

"since when Hyun Jae can't contacted?" I asks

"since this morning" Song answer

"Hyo joo comes to his place this morning on the way to her work at convenience near Hyun Jae's appartment. but his not there"

"he also not coming to the class" Song said

"maybe he going home, to his parents?" Nana said

" we can't make sure. we can't call his mom, we afraid that his mom will be worrying. so we want to wait until this night. if he still nit show up or no news, we gonna call his mom" Bom explain

"but Hyo Joo so amazing" I said

"what do you mean?" Nana stop walking

"just, if I was Hyo Joo, I'll be worried sick cause my boyfriend is missing "

"hm, " Nana voice is getting normal after but high when I said Hyo Joo amazing

"did I said something wrong?" I feel hit guilty

"actually no but definitely not yes"

"Hyo Joo behave sometimes can makes people misunderstanding about her. she really good at manage her expression and behave. but she really worried about Hyun Jae. I know it. she come to his place at morning, working while worrying and keep call Hyun Jae. after work she come to college and ask everyone about Hyun Jae"

"that's why we know Hyun Jae missing" Bom pat Nana shoulder

"I'm sorry" I said

"it's okay, cause Hyo Joo is give a reflection like that"

"Hyo joo said she's been 4th times goes to Hyun Jae's place. but still no one there. so she goes working hope Hyun jae will show up for dinner at the restaurant "

"song you better send Vivi home. let me and Nana checks Hyun Jae appartment "

I walk home with Song, we just talk about casual think. I open my house gate

"you want to come by?" I aks

"no, it's okay. your parents at home right?"

"yes" I answer

"go in, I want to look you enter the house"

I hug Song and kiss his cheek

"bye"

"bye" he waves to me

"I'm home" I open the door

a maid comes to me

"miss, your parents have urgent schedules tonight so they won't be back until midnight "

"Oh okay"

"have you eat miss?"

"Yes I have"

our bell ringing, the maid go out and look at monitor.

"it's delivery courier " She said

she get some packages and bring it in.

"miss, this is for you"

"thank you" I sit at the couch in my living room

no sender name, I open it. there's a big brown envelope. I open it, I took out whatever is in. it's a thin book, I flip the book and I really surprised. the thin book is like a scrapbook, full of my photo. suddenly I feel scared. who send this to me.

there's a note

"surprises, I hope you like it. I can't wait to see you"

I close my mouth.

Bom Knocking Hyun Jae appartment but no response. Bom try call him and still not active.

"is he at home?" song call

"no" Bom answer

"call his mom now" Song suggest

"okay, where are you know?"

"I still around Vivi neighborhood"

"hm. I'll call his mom, but in case if his not there you better come here. we need to search for him"

"okay, I'll go there "

when Bom wants to call Hyun Jae mom. the lift in front of Hyun Jae's place is open. and Bom can see Hyun Jae being hold by the security.

"what happened? "Bom run to help the security

" I don't know. a taxi driver send him here. and I just help him go back to his appartment. looks like he's heavily drunk"

"Hey, Hyun Jae. what your passcode?" Bom asks

Hyun jae mumbling about several number, but since Bom friend with him fo so long time he can catch what he means.

the door open and they lied Hyun Jae in his bed.

"thank you sir" Bom said to the security

"what we gonna do with him? should I call Hyo Joo?" Nana ask

"no, just tell her Hyun Jae is home. don't tell her he's drunk. tell her that he's lost his phone or else. I think something happened, but we didn't sure what is that. cause Hyun Jae never drink alcohol before "

"okay, I'll back to dorm now"

I really scared. I call song immediately hope he still not far.

"Song, where are you? can you come back to my house?"

"Uh, I still around your neighborhood. why?"

"I'm scared "

"what happened?"

"just come here first "

I look at the pile of photos that send to me. even today photo when I went to eat with my friends is there too. it's give me goosebumps. and now just me and the maid at home.

five minutes later

ding dong, the bell ringing. I look at the monitor it's Song. I open the door and run to him. I hug him

"Song , I'm scared"

"what happened?"

so I tell Song about the note and the envelope that full of my photos.

"the maid will going home at 9 and my parents will comes at 11. I pretty worried even the maid here with me"

"hm, how about you sleep at dorm"

"ha?" I surprises

"no, no. not in my dorm. I'll call Hyo Joo, you can sleep at Hyo Joo and Nana room"

"Hyo Joo?"

"Yes. is it okay?"

"hm... actually is it feel awkward if I sleep at their dorm, since we not close"

"Why you say like that? Nana maybe bit rude and speak just what she likes but Hyo Joo is a good girl"

"okay, I'll pack my stuff"

I go to my room and grab some clothes, I not realizes that there's some eavesdropper in my bag.

Song phone ringing

"Bom... what okay okay"

"what happened?"

"Hyun Jae , he's back to his appartment. and he's heavily drunk"

"he said Nana already at the dorm. I'll send you to the dorm first. don't say anything to Hyo Joo."

"Why?"

Song open taxi door for me

"cause it's not Hyun jae that will get heavily drunk. we think something bad happened. but we don't know anything yet. Hyun jae still passed out"

"okay"

we arrived at girls dorm. Nana already wait outside the dorm.

"Where's Hyo Joo?" Song ask, he worried if hyo joo comes to Hyun Jae's

"don't worry, she's at the room. I asked her to clean our room. and I've said anything about Hyun Jae. she didn't even know Hyun Jae is back. she insisted to go at his place but I forbid her. she already exhausted from work. I said you two , Bom and you will search for him tonight "

"okay, also please take care of her"

"I know it, some nasty bastard might be stalking you. don't worry you save here. there's many girls and pretty crowd here. also there's security"

I nodded

"bye" I waves to Song

I walk to second floor with Nana. she open her room door. I can see Hyo Joo fold some blanket.

"Vivi. are you okay?" She pat my back

"yes"

"you can sleep at my bed. I'll sleep at the floor"

"what, but" I feel bad

"it's okay. we have extra bed. so I'm not really sleep at floor " she smiled

"you can changes your clothes or maybe you want to take a bath? "

"Ah, thanks"

"are you hungry? we have a snacks too. Nana hide many snacks at her drawer" Hyo Joo giggles

"If you know then it not secret anymore " Nana lies her body in her bed.

"if no one going to take a bath then I'll go" Hyo Joo said. Hyo Joo go to the bathroom.

I seat at Hyo Joo's bed

tring, tring...

Hyo Joo phones ring, looks like Hyo joo gets message. tring...tring...tring... looks like it's so many messages.

after 10 minutes Hyo Joo get out from the bathroom. I really torture this 10 minutes cause Nana not speak anything.

"Hyo Joo, your phone keep ringing. maybe you should check it"

"Ah, really okay"

she open it, I look at her expression. I really can't read her expression but

"everything okay?"

Nana caught her just in a second

"Yes, but"

shung... suddenly the light off. Hyo Joo turn on her phone flash light.

knock knock

someone knocking the door

"who is that? " Hyo Joo asks

"security " some man voice hear from back of the door

"Nana, Vivi, hide. I think they not security " Hyo Joo said.

I getting scared, but both me and Nana didn't know where we put our phones. and Hyo Joo holding her phone with flash light on. she tried to call someone but the man that said he was security smash the door.

Hyo Joo phone fall to the floor and we can't see anything except some fight sounds.

"who are you?" Hyo Joo shouts

but then we can't hear Hyo Joo voice or the man voice. Nana encourage herself to take Hyo Joo phone and Nana look around the dark room.

"Hyo joo not here. Hyo Joo" Nana shout

ting... the electricity turn on

" Nana" I said with tremble voice

"look"

I point to the floor. there's little blood on the floor and the door is broken.

"shit, what actually happened?" Nana said
