He Who was King of Tuatha Dé Danann

Gods. His kisses were addictive. Each time he changed the angle of the kiss, it would be rougher, deeper.

I could feel his hard length pressing against me. The jeans he was wearing offered little protection from what his body wanted. My core was starting to react to our closeness. I ground my hips on his hard shaft.

I heard him groan against our fused mouths. He let go of my lips just to graze his teeth on my chin, which was followed by the swiping of his tongue. I gasped. Gads. The things this man does to my body were something no one has done. Even my mind which was always rebelling was enjoying the sensation of each lick and nibble.

My hand never left its post around his neck. His hands were doing their best to lift the hem of the dress I was wearing. I could feel his every caress, the way his fingers traced the line of my underwear as he nibbled on my neck.

"Duncan," I whispered, "we should -" Whatever I wanted to say was cut off when he kissed me like there was no tomorrow. His tongue swept all over my mouth, skimming, and tasting every single surface it can touch. I gasped as Duncan sucked my tongue.

Damn, this man was determined to make me forget that we needed to talk. I don't mind though, but for my peace of mind, I have to understand why.

He must have felt that something in me had changed. The kisses slowly lost their intensity. The raging need in the first few minutes began to wane. The open-mouthed kiss turned onto a gentle caress. The possessive way he took me at the start switched to a wooing touch that slowly brought me back to my senses. And the kiss on the forehead finalized that he was sorry.

Duncan tucked my head underneath his chin and began to stroke my back. I felt his chest expand as he took a deep breath and slowly expelled it.

I waited. And damn I fucking hate waiting.

"When humans began to populate the world, gods like us decided to mingle with them," Duncan began. "They were the beings that called us for help. They pleaded, and they killed for us, all in the name of exchange for whatever help we can give them. We saw how your kind developed. These were intelligent beings that were capable of many feats, yet they chose to ignore the things that were in front of them to chase something that they could never have."

"Duncan," I whispered. There was a lot of anger and grief in his voice. I felt his hate and I began to inch down from his body. But he was having none of it. He hauled me back up and gave a quick kiss on my lips before he continued.

"It took me half a billion years to finally give up and just quietly help the humans that I have grown fond of." Duncan's hands were slowly rubbing my back like he was trying to console me. But I knew differently.

"I will not tell you who I am. I am guessing that my aunt has told you who and what I am." There was a trace of self-mocking in his voice that made me hit his chest.

He grunted before he caught my hand that was to deliver a second blow. The way he looked deep into my eyes was disorienting but my gaze did not falter. I was mad, and I wanted him to know how.

I thought that he was a normal human. I never could imagine that he was a god. Like how fucked my life had been this happen. I was going to bet my last shed of sanity that fate must be happy because I was getting whopping.

"Lass, from the way you are glaring at me, I am guessing that getting that life plan you humans insist on everyone buying was the right decision." The man had the audacity to joke, but he quickly sobered up and gave a deep sigh of defeat. He sat up and gently deposited me on the sofa. He kissed my forehead before he took a step back.

I was once again struck by how handsome this man was. And for him to be attracted to the likes of me, made me question his mind. Knowing that he was a god made me even more skeptical.

There was no visible change when he stepped back. His clothes remained the same, his body did not change shape, and he did not turn into something hideous. But there was a sudden spike in the air though. Like it was charged or something, normal people would not even notice it, but I could.

Silver. His aura was pulsing silver. I had to blink several times, it was impossible, auras were something humans could not be able to see. Some have claimed that they could see human auras, but those were rare, and were usually sent to the mental hospital. So how could I?

Duncan took pity on my plight. He took my hand and asked me to stand up. I can feel immense power from him. All I could do was look into his gray-green eyes and asked, "How?"

"Fall. I mean, Failinis," The dog's ears perked up when he heard his name. I was waiting for him to leave his spot, but all he did was open his eyes and wag his tail. "The moment he fused you with his godly essence I felt that something must have gone wrong. I wanted to join you, to protect you in whatever caused Fall to do such a dire act. But my duty as the King of Tuatha Dé Danann prevented me from leaving my current location."

I could hear the bleakness in his voice like his presence could prevent Angus from being a shithead. I shook my head and asked, "King of Tuatha Dé Danann?"

He nodded.

All I could do was close my eyes. Failinis. The lake. The castle. He was one of the most well-known gods in Celtic myth.

A man, whose skills would be compared to being a "Jack of all Trades." He was the man who died in the lake and would come back to look for the one who calls to his lonely soul.

"I am Lugh, King of Tuatha Dé Danann, and you, Julie, are my Queen."
