Appointment in the garden

In the Lancaster mansion everywhere is quiet as everyone is lost in their own thoughts.

Mr Lancaster is in his room making further plans and strategy about the war that is to come. He didn't give all his plans to Mr Huffington and Shaw. He believes in keeping some parts of his plans to himself in case of an emergency.

Dane decides he will go see Shaw to get some more details about what he must have discussed with their dad and what happened to the apprehended man. He had gone to the back room to also be met by the sight of an empty room.

He goes to Shaw's room but was surprise to see the door ajar. He peeped inside to see Shaw in the room sitting on his bed blending perfectly with the darkness in his room.

"Why did you leave your door open? "Dane asked curiously, he believes his brother has been acting strange these days.

"Please shut the door behind you I have been expecting you to come"Shaw calmly replied.

"I know you are always curious about situations like this but trust me the less you know the better for you." Shaw said.

"Stop that! Don't treat me like a kid. I have the right to know everything." Dane said almost getting angry closing the door with a bang.

"I know you do but dad decides what we should know and the roles we are to play. He believes it is for our safety and I cannot agree less."

"Fine!!" Dane said giving up already. He knows it is useless trying to argue with Shaw as he will support his dad.

"What about the man in the back room. I checked and he wasn't there. What happened to him?" Dane asked again curiously.

"He was released by dad' Shaw said trying to sound convincing.

"Just like that? "Dane asked very surprised.

"A person attacks our home and dad just allow him go? That is not possible. You are not telling me the truth" Dane half yelled.

"I am, trust me Shaw said walking up to him. Dad questioned him for two hours and he wasn't giving us any useful information. Dad was not willing to kill anyone in our home so he allowed him go." Shaw said reducing his voice to whispers.

"I think dad has changed, I was even surprised when he asked me to release him" Shaw added. He was trying to make sure Dane believe him.

Just as they were talking they both heard a knock on the door. Shaw motioned to Dane to be silent as he walks discreetly to the door. He was becoming very cautious these days. Just like his dad only one person comes to his room and that is Dane so he wasn't expecting anyone else.

"Who is that?' He asked pressing his ears on the door.

"It is me Sharon " he heard a familiar voice say. Sharon had come to ask Shaw also about the where about of the man in the back room.

'Sharon? " He asked with surprise on his face. He looked at Dane and also saw surprise on his face. Dane wasn't comfortable with the thought of Sharon coming to Shaw's room at that time of the night. He quickly remembered he was suppose to meet her at the garden later that night.

Shaw opens the door and motioned her to come inside. She comes in and is surprised to see Dane in the room also.

"Why have you come?"Shaw asked turning to Sharon trying not to sound unfriendly. Sharon didn't know if she should ask Shaw her questions in the presence of Dane.

"You can say anything" Shaw said asif reading her mind.

"Oh its nothing I just came to check up on you and also to thank you for today." She said smiling all this while avoiding looking at Dane who wasn't saying a word.

"Its nothing just make sure not to poke nose too much around the house.' Shaw said totally unconvinced about her attitude.

"Alright I will go now, I will leave you guys to continue your discussion. I also want to see the garden before I sleep this night." Sharon said hoping Dane gets the clue to meet her there. Kissing Dane was her first time with any boy and she was willing to try it again. With that she left the room.

"What was that?" Dane asked immediately.

"What do you mean? "Shaw asked trying to sound innocent.

"What was she thanking you for?"

"Oh that." Shaw narrated what occured between Sharon and himself.

"Alright I understand now" Dane said hoping all Shaw said was the truth. He was already thinking Shaw had made a move on her.

"I will be going to my room now." Dane said standing up. He didn't care about what Shaw has to say again. He just wanted to go meet sharon in the garden.
