CHAPTER 4:A DATE II

 I was following the rose path because I noticed that the waiter had suddenly disappeared then I looked up and saw a candle lit dinner table for two [2] and I screeched "awwnn so beautiful " it was decorated like a wedding venue should be decorated and on the wall was written "for my beauty "just then Frederick walked in and pulled one chair for me to sit on like a gentleman and I sat down and he went over to sit and the waiter came in and gave us the menu to select our choice of food "I'll have the fried and jollof mix rice with bottled water " I said " and I'll have the same as her " Frederick said " and your dessert" the waiter asked "is there need for that I'll have only rice "I said " she'll have the vanilla ice cream "Frederick interjected, I tried to open my mouth to speak but Frederick said "shhh don't argue" and I shut my mouth " that's good" he said in a voice like he's talking to a child and the waiter arrived with our food and we started eating and Frederick said " why the silence I don't bite, loosen up " and I smiled and said " well what should we talk about " "tell me about yourself " he said " well what do you want to know about me "I asked "well tell me about your family " he said "okay, I'm the fourth born I have two older brothers and one sister who is older than me, so do you want to laugh while I was in secondary school back in Nigeria we were acting a play and by accident my hand mistakenly hit the teachers wig and it fell off and we saw a shiny layer of head it was so shiny like someone had applied lip gloss on it "I said while laughing " you look so beautiful when your smiling you know " and I replied "thanks you don't look to bad either " " so you admit that I'm handsome " he said and smirked "of course I never said that you weren't handsome I was angry at you " I said before realizing what I had said then I just put my head down and continued eating " so can we take a picture" he said " of course why not "I replied and we took a few photos together then I remembered something " when I was in school my computer teacher was having a video call with her husband and we all got behind her and started shouting things like good morning sir, hi sir and so on we were so playful and happy during our school days but now I am no longer a child so I have to put all those aside and focus perhaps, I'm not in my homeland where you can have fun I only came here to study, ever since I was little I always had this dream to study abroad, fall in love, get married and have children but now I can't even dream of falling in love in this country because all you guys ever think about us is that we are witches, bad people e.t,c, so no one will even spare me a glance so I am focusing on my studies I said with my head down "

But I like you "Frederick said and I looked up suddenly with shock written all over my face " it's true, I know it's too early but I really liked you from the first day I met you when I looked into your eyes which was so full of life I liked you I knew " he said with utmost sincerity in his eyes I was shocked out of my wits I tried to talk but only stammers came out and I grabbed my bag and tried to run out but he was faster and caught me by the arm and said " please don't try to run, I really like you I'll be expecting an answer " I went out and took a cab home.

When I reached home Lizzy and Nora asked me how it went and I told them everything that had happened and Nora was like" why didn't you say you like him many girls are dying to be in that position "she scolded and Lizzy supported in saying "of course it's Frederick majesty that we are talking about here, the schools handsome and rich and by rich I mean super rich" she sassed " and the most wonderful playboy "I added my words dripping with heavy sarcasm "oh come on Goldie he told you that he likes you stop behaving like a church girl" Nora snapped " thanks and by the way it's wonderful being a church girl " I replied " you know she didn't mean it like that " Lizzy supported Nora " he's a complete playboy who none of his girlfriends lasts three weeks and I don't want to be the new collection " I said while wiping off my makeup with wipes " you know if it were me I would have done anything to be his girlfriend and you got it on a platter of gold and you want to refuse him seriously Gold don't be like this " Lizzy said obviously she likes boys too much almost if not infatuated with them " you can have him if you want but I don't want to be used and dumped by some Frederick guy who I just met, like can you even hear yourself I get the fact that he's handsome rich and whatever but I don't want to be used and dumped by someone " I said " okay let's not force her, so tell us how was his car" Nora asked trying to ease the tension in the room " it was a red Lamborghini " I replied " oh my God Gold a Lamborghini I feel like fainting how rich is he " Nora said " seriously there's nothing special about it " I said " Gold can you hear yourself, that car costs millions of millions and you say there's nothing special about it " Lizzy butted in " speaking about cars I actually want to get one myself so which type should I get " I said trying to change the topic " wow you've saved enough money already " Nora asked " yeah I saved some and my Dad gave me the rest, so which type am I getting " I said " I think you should buy a big and high car so we can all be able to ride in it" Lizzy said "hmmn, okay let's get a big and high one, how about an SUVs it's big and high " I said " yes that's perfect " Lizzy said " totally amazing " Nora said "we'll go and buy it tomorrow " I said.
