Hiroki's consciousness slowly returned, his body weighed down by exhaustion.

He found himself in a sleek, modern infirmary, surrounded by sterile equipment and soft beeping monitors.

A gentle breeze carried the scent of disinfectant and medication.

Aiko lay in the adjacent bed, her silver hair splayed across the pillow.

"Looks like I won." Hiroki thought as he tried to move, only to feel a searing pain all throughout his body.

"Shit. She really did a number on me, It feels like my body went through a woodchipper." Hiroki cursed, giving up on his futile efforts to get up.

Suddenly a new screen flashed in front of him. The usual black screen was glowing white with golden lines and texts.

[Congratulation! player has reached level 10! The system has reached LV 2]

Hiroki stared at the prompts, dumbfounded. All the pain and suffering that he went through was nothing but a tutorial.

It felt like a hit to his pride which he was just beginning to recover.

He shook his head and focused on what trait he should pick.

"Look at the bright side, I have a home and I'm getting stronger, who cares if it was just a tutorial, higher risk equals higher reward."

Hiroki thought as he read the description of the traits.

"These description are too vague so I need to be careful about which one I should choose."

"1st looks like one of those basic anime energy manipulation skills while the 2nd looks the dream skill for one of those creeps sitting in the back of the class."

He thought after analyzing the traits from a different point of view.

"Last one tho...is quite confusing. It says that I inspire those who follow me but would it effect someone who clearly doesn't accept me like aiko."

"As the successor, the yamazakis are my subordinates in so the skill will effect them but what about those who have doubts about me?"

Hiroki contemplated in his mind as he continued to stare at the screen. But suddenly a new prompt appeared.

Hiroki gaped at the system then whispered in bewilderment.

"Holy shit. I did not know this thing could do that. Is it because the system reached level 2? Will I be able to communicate with the creator of this thing after increasing its level?"

More and more questions popped into his head such as, who created the system? Why did it choose him? Where did such a being come from? Are they even humans or gods?

And the biggest question that came to his mind was.

"Are there more system users like me? Will I be able to meet them? Or will they be hostile towards me?"

Hiroki shook his head and focused at the things at hand. He can worry about these question when the time comes.

Hiroki thought as he confirmed the [Mana control] trait.

It didn't felt any different in ghe beginning but slowly he started to feel discomfort in his body which slowly turned into searing pain.

He wanted to scream and thrash but he couldn't, it felt like his body was in a human shaped coffin while molten magma flowed through his veins.

But What really almost drove him insane was his eyes.

It felt like they were being incinerated and recreated over and over again.

After what felt like hours, the pain subsided as hiroki was able to move again as he gasped for air as sweat rolled down his body.

His sheets and bandages were drenched in a mixture of sweat and blood, it seems like his wounds had reopened.

But that wasn't his concerns, hiroki felt rejuvenated as if his body had regained something it had lost, something crucial.

But What he actually focused on was the inside. A silver and black colored light was flowing throughout his body in a vein-like pathway.

He looked at his surroundings which now had a myriad of different colors in the air. His gaze shifted to the rest swordswoman who had a purplish aura surrounding her.

What confused him though was that she didn't have those strange nerve pathway in her body.

Hiroki looked at screen which was now blinking with a notification icon.

[Ding!]

Hiroki read the description and closed his eyes, the lights might have been beautiful but after the torture he just been through they were more annoying than anything.

"So, all those myths of the past weren't just bullshit huh. People actually did possess the ability to control nature and what not."

"Well, I'll deal with this later, my head is swimming so I'll take a nap. But before that, inventory."

He opened the inventory and selected the weapon draw ticket.

And before he knew yhe wheel had already appeared and began spinning.

His mind was getting cloudy as his vision began to darken. He clicked on the stop button and before loosing consciousness he heard.
