Chapter 10

2 weeks later I flew back to Paris to continue my work. When I arrived back in Paris Pram came to get me from the airport to the hospital to check on the child , since Damien's mom wants me to check how it is doing and I promise to update her on my progress on the pregnancy. We reached there and got the Gyne to check on the little one. My gynaecologist Dr.Dawn, an old friend of mine.

"Well who's the father, Stella? " Dawn said as she applied the gel on my skin. I looked at her and sighed . " He's dead, I'm a single mother , he died in a car accident in the states. " i said and tried my best not to cry

She placed the scanner on my belly " oh.. Im sorry … " she said as she looked at the screen and when she found the little bean and showed me the screen there it was " Congratulations , you are 2 months pregnant " she said while handing me the wipes to wipe off the gel and helped me print out the ultrasound for me to keep .

I sat there and cried as I looked at the photo. She comforted me and talked me through the whole process and booked my next appointment in about the 5th month. For now I can't keep working overtime and can't dig into too much of my cravings . Pram drove us back home after that and took note of the appointment in a few months , and informed Mdm Tan that I am pregnant and to cook more healthy food .

After that day i've spent majority of my time in the office and arranging my trip to Europe i called Dr.Dawn and informed her and she said it was fine and to be back before i hit my 35th week and i informed her i'm only going for 2 weeks instead of 1 month which put her at ease.

My Marketing team and i are going together should be fine oh Ethan as well plus he says he Marry , Damien's mother insisted that Ethan comes with me and how can i say no when she loved little bean the min i sent her the photo .

A week later. . .

" Ms Wong , everyone is here , should we go into the departure hall ? " Yasmine asked as we all were waiting outside the departure hall.

"Just one more person Yasmine, one more " I said while looking around . "STELLAA!!!!!" I saw a blonde hair running towards my direction and pushing a shit load of luggage towards me , stopping right in front of me .

"You are late, everybody head into the departure hall now" I said as I tapped on Ethan's shoulder. Everyone entered the departure halls and went to do some shopping while Ethan and I headed over to the boarding gate to refill on water .

"How have you been, and the little bean? It's so adorable!" Ethan said as he hovered his hand over my belly. I giggled a little " little bean is doing fine , i'm only 2 months pregnant and the morning sickness has been slowly kicking in. ``I said.

Ethan looked at me and still hovered over my tiny belly and scolded the little bean for making me sick , we talked a lot and even got on the plane and seated side by side he made a last min request before checking in how annoying, The remaining team just sat behind spread out the whole business class cabin .

That entire flight Ethan kept on reading books and magazines on pregnancy , and kept on finding names when little bean was just 2 months old… I'm here trying to do my work on the plane . When the food service started , Yasmine came by and asked me if I needed anything. I just told her to rest because that's all we need now before we reach havoc in London.

We landed at 9pm London time, we got on the coach provided by the hotel and it took us to the hotel. Everyone settled in their respective rooms while Ethan and I had a connecting room because he was worried something might happen to me while working too hard, but we spent the 3 hours of our time not sleeping but planning what we were going to do in London for the time being during our days off.

"How have you been since the funeral, you never spoke about it for a while… " Ethan said , I looked at him and closed my laptop " Well I have been coping well. I believe if not why would I still be here? Continuing my work, am I right ?" .

Ethan lowered his head and reached his hand out to mine, grabbing it " Stella , it's only been 3 weeks since the funeral , if you aren't feeling okay you can rest , i believe your Marketing team can do the work for themselves ."

I gave out a faint smile giving him reassurance, " Ethan, I am really okay " I tapped Ethan on the hand "I love him and I hope he knows that very well and right now my work is my priority and little bean. We should worry about Mr and Mrs Lim more . " I got up and told him goodnight, went straight to my room, closed the center door, climbed on to the bed and started crying silently.

I know this is unhealthy and selfish of me to pretend that I'm fine , but sadly the truth is I was never okay the day I received the news about the crash… Damien was everything to me and the first few months we were dating i neglected him , i thought he was just one of those fuck boys that once he finally has sex with any female he will leave them hanging but he proved it to me.

By proving his loyalty and his seriousness to me all in just 3 months of dating , flying over to me , sending me flowers , taking me to places in Paris which i didn't know existed but he was so into things here i barely notice these buildings were always there even tried to cook for me countless of times and improved as the years go by and the amount of time we spent flying over to see each other but the video calls, phone calls and text messages are endless i thanks technology for this .

"Stella Wong , I love you " those were his final words to me before he ended the call. . .

"Stella! Stella! Stella! " Ethan yelled while shaking my entire body . I slowly opened my eyes to bright lights coming into the room and Ethan, all excited the day had just started , I got up slowly and rubbed my eyes.

"What is it?" I asked in between my yawns . " Come on day 1 of the trip, we gotta get moving!" Ethan squealed in excitement.

"Ethan, i'm here for work not holiday come on i have things to do for the business set up . ugh (opens the laptop , doorbell rings) , could you open that for me thank you .`` I said as Ethan ran to the door and opened up the door to see Mike and Louie standing there.

"Boss there has been a slight issue with Paraframes company lately and they want to sell their company to their competitor in order to save it. '' Mike said as they showed me the news .

"But then their shares are with us and we hold 40% of their company. If they sell to the competitor we can lose millions in the making as well" Louie expressed his concern as he started to calculate .

"Uhm Ethan, why don't you head out to do some sightseeing first i'll call you when i'm done with this, feel free to ask the ladies out if you like . ``I said while looking at Ethan. He agreed and left us to do our work .

The entire time i have been trying to get intel on what is going on back in the office, Wendy my Sales Head has been updating me on the stocks and how is it going and they said Paraframes stocks are lowering by the lot and if something isn't done soon we could lose millions as well , i thanked her for the update and to keep me posted about it

"Boss, Paraframes CEO Mr Wen is calling . " Mike handed me the phone. I nodded my head and placed it on speaker and threw it on the bed .

" Ms Wong, I am pleased to inform you that Paraframes will be combined with DevonMatics . PVT as of next week. You have been our biggest supporter from the start and I wish to cut ties with you and your company. " Mr Wen said .

"Mr Wen , why the sudden bold move ? " I asked, "No reason, I just think it's time to sell my company and retire. " He said in a hurry .

I muted the call , " I don't believe whatever he is selling. Mike call DevonMatics CEO and asks what's his deal, Louie see what we can offer to Paraframes better than DevonMatics. " .

Both of them went to work straight away while I continued to negotiate with Mr Wen and assured him we can offer him a better price and whatever we can better than DevonMatics.

"Boss, They are offering shit…. this is bad… " Mike shook his head . I looked at him and Louie typed it out on the laptop .

"They are offering his 3 daughters Scholarships to international schools of their choice , and his son a football scholarship and his entire family a resort in Maldives with that 20 billion . "

I lowered my head and knew what I had to say to Mr Wen. " Mr Wen, are you aware of our contract? " I said , Mike and Louie quickly dug up the contract online and started searching for the rule.

"Ms Wong, I am aware, " He said. "Section 5 (A) If Paraframes firm wishes to sell or combine with another company, CEO of Paraframes must either 1. Pay a fine of 25 million for selling or combining with another company or 2. Sell the company over to SC Private limited . " I said and smirked .

"No That's impossible, 25 million?! You must be a mad bitch! " he screamed over the phone.

"Hahaha, Mr Wen, may I remind you I am also a Lawyer myself and since you already sold your company to DevonMatics , my lawyers will be in touch with you soon. When I get back from Europe I will see you in court, Mr Wen." I ended the call with all smiles , Mike and Louie got a little scared.

"Boss, is everything okay ? " Mike asked. I nodded my head " let's just say we will get a 25 million dollar check from Mr Wen when we come back now, we can go and enjoy ourselves. Sorry you had to settle this on the first day of break." I said and dismissed them. They thanked me and left me alone in the room .

I called Ethan and told him I was done and glanced over at the clock and realised it's already evening shit i wasted half the day… Ethan agreed to meet me at the lobby since he wasn't very far from the hotel and from there we went out to have dinner and enjoyed the view of London .
