Chapter:-14 Nightingale (Part-2)

{Inside the study}

The quill in Roland's hand flew across the paper, it continuously drew beautiful sketches ,every stroke contained some spirituality as the words written seemed to shine a little.

He was currently making notes on the making of wall, army, amount of ration , ammunition, etc. Due to having the experience of handling a large organisation such as the [Tarot club], Roland was having it easier to solve the different problems that appeared to pop out of nowhere.

"I didn't knew that, His Highness was a learned man...." A voice resounded beside Roland's ears.

The sound had a mysteries feel to it, one couldn't tell the exact location of the source of voice. Yet it didn't contain any kind of malice towards Roland.

Normally people would have freaked out if they were to suddenly hear a voice behind them but Roland was different, even though the only power provided by the [Seer] was to perform divinations and store massive amounts of spirituality.

His divinator constitution warned him about the upcoming future, albeit the feeling was vague as a former [Fool] and the possesser of [Gray fog] ,Roland was very familiar with the feeling.

Without making any move, Roland continued to write on the paper while replying with a neutral tone "Thank you for the compliment....." His quill kept on writing without breaking his rhythmic pace.

The other party was probably stunned by the lack of reaction showed by the prince, it took 6 seconds before a figure suddenly appeared in front of Roland.

A brown cloaked women wearing hood appeared in front of Roland, about 5'8° feet tall in height,a beautiful figure with long purple hairs. She bowed to show respect to the prince before asking in a playful tone.

"Aren't you afraid, His Highness.....?????" Roland put down his quill and stood up, he walked towards the shelf behind him, returned to his seat after pulling out another book to read.

"You don't have any malicious thoughts towards me ,why should be I afraid of you.....????" Roland didn't bother looking at the girl before replying in a bored tone.

Nightingale's eyebrows twitched underneath that hood, she once again questioned him "I am a witch, don't you hate us...Fear us...."

Nightingale had a secondary ability, during her adulthood she gained the [Eye-of truth]. This ability of her was able to tell if a person was telling the truth or not....

Roland finally looked at Nightingale before commenting "Once I man told me ,[Nothing in life is to be feared. It is only to be understood.]"

Nightingale intensely observed Roland with her [Eye of truth], he was telling the truth.....the response from her ability made her a little less guarded against Roland.

What Roland said was indeed the truth but he didn't say anything about fearing witches. He smartly converted the question to suit his answer.

It hasn't been too long since he and others came into this world ,so to say he was not afraid of witches of high order wasn't correct. They needed time, time for understanding the world, witches ,church ,etc...

"What if I would have malicious thoughts about you, what would you do then....." Asked Nightingale she watched the Prince's reaction.

Roland shrugged his shoulders before saying with a bored expression "You would have been dead by now."

Listening to Roland's carefree words Nightingale felt a chill crawl down her spine, her instincts told her that the words of the Prince were indeed the truth.

"So I assume you are here to take Anna.....???" Asked Roland to which Nightingale nodded before adding "I thank His Highness for showing kindness to a witch, I am here to take Anna, Nana and others away to the council."

Listening to her words Roland smiled before saying "Ohhh..... Well why should I allow them to leave with you, the traces of your groups are all over the place, you are trying to find the [Holy mountain] in the [Months of demons]. I don't have any confidence in you guys being able to survive against the demons."

"Also Anna and Nana are here on their own consent ,I didn't force them to stay ,I know that Anna is going to face the [Day of awakening] soon, so it gives me more of a reason to decline to your request."

"Nana pine's custody is with her father so you must ask his permission also the other three witches aren't under my jurisdiction but you may talk to them yourself." Roland then again started focusing on his writing.

Nightingale couldn't find a counter against Roland's words, it was true that they couldn't defend against every demon, some were bound to get hurt, also this was a critical period for Anna as she was going to experience [Adulthood].

Her only chance was to convince Cynthia , Mellena and Kattara to leave with her, Nightingale could sense the huge amount of magic inside them, they 3 were very strong witches. If she could get them to leave with her not only would they be able to repel the demons but also will have a higher chance of finding the [Holy mountain].

"His Highness ,I thank you for thinking about us witches but I would still like to talk to them, as you know that Anna is soon going to face [Adulthood], in the camp there are witches who survived that period."

"I want to talk her with me if she agrees ,also want to talk with the three maids." Said Nightingale as she bowed deeply towards Roland.

"Even if I agree, you still need the permission of the other two leaders of my faction, the decision of protecting witches ,creating a place for you all to live freely wasn't my idea alone."

"They are busy dealing with the church, only by their permission can you talk the witches away." Said Roland before getting up from his chair and walking towards the door.

The fingers wrapped around the knob, twisted it ,pushed forward opening the door ,revealing a corridor outside.

"Why are you guys helping us, we are witches, devil's spawn ,demons....." Questioned Nightingale, using her [Eye of Truth] on Roland.
