Chapter 94: Centaur Meteor Shower

"Humans! Don't push us too far!" The leading centaur bellowed, his face flushed with fury.

"Hah! You want war? Then war it is!" Rynar retorted without a hint of retreat.

"Soldiers of Zaltarion, show them what happens to those who dare invade our lands!" Rynar roared, raising the Dragon Slayer Sword high into the air.

"Death! They will nourish the grass and trees of the coming spring!" The soldiers roared back with unbridled fervor.

"Leave my lands, or face annihilation! I, Rynar, King of Zaltarion, give you your final warning!" His voice, calm yet terrifyingly cold, echoed across the battlefield.

"Humans, you'll regret this! I'll make you pay dearly!" The centaur leader trembled with rage, his body visibly shaking.

"Then show me, centaur, how steep that price will be!" Rynar mocked, undaunted.

"Knights! Assemble! Prepare to charge!" Rynar's command rang out, and the Holy Radiance Knights swiftly regrouped, forming a perfect wedge-shaped formation.

"For the glory of Zaltarion! Knights, charge with me!"

With a burst of divine radiance emanating from him, Rynar activated his holy aura and led the charge.

"Glory! Mercy!"

The knights chanted in unison as they activated their combat skills. Vibrant energy shields and brilliant combat auras enveloped their armored forms.

"Charge!"

With lances leveled forward, the knights surged ahead like a roaring torrent of steel.

The tips of their lances glowed with energy, extending several meters beyond as they hurtled toward the enemy with a deafening roar.

"Volley fire!"

The Battanian Archers were not to be outdone. With swift precision, they nocked arrows and unleashed a storm of projectiles.

"Multi-shot! Fire!" Arrows infused with combat energy rained down like a torrential downpour. Spiraling in the air, they fell upon the centaurs with devastating force.

"Defend!" The centaurs hastily raised their crude wooden and leather shields, covering them in green combat energy.

Thud!

Squelch!

Rip!

The power of the multi-shot arrows pierced through their shields effortlessly. Only a few ill-angled arrows failed to penetrate. Screams of pain filled the air as many centaurs fell.

"Ready lances! Prepare for impact!" Rynar shouted, gauging the distance.

"Kill the invaders!" the centaur leader roared, his ornately inscribed wooden spear parrying the falling arrows as he rallied his warriors.

"Archers, fall back! Holy Radiance Knights, shields up!" Caslow and Rynar's eyes narrowed simultaneously, sensing imminent danger.

The centaur leader drew a massive 2.5-meter-long bow, its menacing frame emanating lethal intent.

"Retreat! Get out of here!" The Battanian Archers turned and fled in terror, while Rynar's Knights pressed on grimly.

Twang! Twang!

The crisp twang of bowstrings echoed as countless centaurs pulled their massive bows skyward.

Arrows imbued with wood-element combat energy arced into the sky, forming a green meteor shower raining death upon Rynar and his knights.

"Centaur Meteor Shower!" Rynar shouted.

"Shield up! Maximize your combat energy!" Caslow bellowed.

The Centaur Meteor Shower, their signature technique, leveraged unparalleled speed and gravity-enhanced power.

The higher the arrows soared, the deadlier their descent. Wood-element combat energy further corroded the targets' defenses.

A single centaur could release nearly 50 arrows within five seconds, making them unparalleled archers and natural-born warriors.

Boom! Boom!

Arrows pelted the knights' heavy shields like torrential rain, each impact reverberating through their ranks.

Energy shields shimmered and flickered under the relentless assault. For the first time, Rynar felt a twinge of unease as the invincible Holy Radiance skill began to waver.

"Attack! Push forward! We must break through!" Rynar roared, his voice a mixture of fury and desperation.

The Battanian Archers had escaped the storm, leaving only the Holy Radiance Knights to bear the brunt. Their combat energy flickered dangerously, dimming with each step.

"Your Majesty! We can't make it like this!" Caslow shouted amidst the chaos.

"We must! There's still hope!" Rynar yelled back with steely resolve.

Thud!

A single arrow pierced through their shields, and the protective barrier shattered like glass.

"Undying Spirit!" Rynar cried out, his sword, bursting with golden light. The oppressive weight of the arrows vanished as the knights became ethereal, entering an invincible state.

"Charge! Press on!" Rynar commanded.

"Kill the invaders!"

The centaurs roared, discarding their bows and brandishing massive shields and spears. They charged head-on, their centaur bodies granting unparalleled speed and strength.

"Glory!"

Rynar's knights yelled as they clashed with the centaur force. The two groups collided in a deafening crash, sending shockwaves rippling through the battlefield.

Blades clashed, energy flared, and both sides fought fiercely. Despite the intensity, neither side seemed to gain an upper hand.

Even the fallen centaurs rose again, resilient as ever, while the retreating Battanian Archers circled back into the fray.

The battle returned to a stalemate.

"Curse this glory!" the centaurs cursed angrily.

"Damn their shared pain!" Rynar's knights spat back.

Both sides' trump cards—skills that distributed damage among allies—had nullified any chance of a quick victory.

The centaurs' natural ability mirrored the knights' combat-hardened techniques, creating a grueling deadlock.

And so, the battle raged on.
