An Unwelcome Proposal

Liam couldn't believe what he had just heard. His father had arranged for him to marry the daughter of a lord from the northern part of the kingdom. He had never met the lord or his daughter and had no idea why his father would want him to marry her. Liam had a feeling that this was just another way for his father to get rid of him.

"Father, may I ask why you want me to marry the daughter of a lord I have never met?" Liam asked.

"It's a political alliance, Liam," his father replied. "The northern region is the poorest and most infertile part of the kingdom. This alliance will help us to maintain control over that region and secure our borders."

Liam knew that his father was lying. This was just an excuse to get him out of the castle and away from his family. Liam felt betrayed and hurt. He had always hoped that his father would show him some love and affection, but he was always ignored and neglected.

"I don't want to leave," Liam said firmly.

"You don't have a choice, Liam," his father said coldly. "You will leave in two days' time."

Liam felt trapped. He knew that he had no choice but to obey his father's command. He couldn't believe that his own father would do this to him. Liam left his father's chamber, feeling angry and frustrated.

As he walked down the corridor, he bumped into his older brother, who was on his way to see him.

"Liam, congratulations on becoming a man, yesterday was fun let repeat it" his brother said, smiling.

"Thanks, but I don't feel like celebrating," Liam said, feeling dejected.

"What's wrong?" his brother asked.

"I have to leave in two days' time to marry the daughter of a lord from the northern city," Liam said, trying to keep his emotions in check.

"oh that again…" his brother said, looking sad. "That's a big step."

"It's not what I want, but I have no choice," Liam said, feeling defeated.

"I'll miss you, Liam, and when I have the time I will go and visit!" his brother said, hugging him. "But I'm sure you'll do great things wherever you go."

Liam hugged his brother back, feeling grateful for his support. He knew that his brother was the only one who truly cared about him in his family.

After saying goodbye to his brother and uncle, Liam entered the carriage that would take him to the northern city. He was nervous about what kind of life awaited him there, but he was also determined to make the best of it. Liam hoped that this new chapter in his life would bring him the happiness and fulfillment that he had always longed for..
