Chapter 4

They left the girl over night in the lab knowing that she wouldn't be able to use the computers when turned off or any of their equipment, but no one ever expects the unexpected nowadays do they?

Waking up randomly on her own at the break of dawn curious and half awake she got down from the table looking around to find anything interesting to keep her occupied, but nothing seemed to appeal her so she walked towards the door they usually went through, placing her hand on the scanner which then denied her access as she huffed rather annoyed by this before closing her eyes imaging something or anything that comes to mind picturing one of the Saturdays, mainly Drew as if she was to become her before the door was heard opening granting the girl access as she opens her eyes again surprised that it work and left feeling herself get smaller being more herself upon leaving loosing her concentration a few moments after.

Standing there as the lab door closed behind her she scanned the hallway unsure of where to go growing nervous and afraid of who she might bump into. "This is not what I had in mind" thinking to herself regretting everything before turning around back to the hand scanner trying to reopening by using the technique she used to escape in the first place, but nothing happened no change it anything as her body remained the same like it was a one time thing as she opened her eyes seeing the doors still closed, she panicked smacking it with the palm of her hand wanting to go back in failing dramatically.

"Who's there?" A voice she could recognise and yet seemed unfamiliar at the same time spoke to her hearing their footsteps walk over towards the lab as she looked to her left seeing the darkness that filled the corridor, and a silhouette that seemed to be walking up towards her before slowly revealing itself seeing Zak there, but only a image vision of Monday came to her mind as fear filled her body before suddenly rushing off in the opposite direction. "Hey! Wait!" He yelled trying to reach out to grab her ragged dress before she slipped away leaving him to chase after her with no intention to harm her, but to know who she was and how she got inside.

"No! He's going to get me, I don't want to go back there I refuse to" think and ruining in panic through the darkness not watching where she was going, bumping into something that knocked her back landing on her butt confused as she looked up seeing Fiskerton there until Zak's could be heard rushing right behind her.

"Wait!" Zak called out as Fiskerton sighed quickly picking her up before hiding off while his little brother rushed past. He grew unsure if hiding was the best idea and yet it was to keep her safe even though he knew that Zak wouldn't harm her in any way, shape or form.

"Are you alright?" He asked as she nodded slight shaking before putting her back down proceeding to hold her hand refusing to let her out of his sight. "He won't hurt you, I promise" trying his best to persuade her that this Zak the original isn't anything like the one she was stuck with, as this one is far better and more kinder than the other.

"I'll believe it when I see it" she relied in his language once again as he softly sighed not really blaming her due to being stuck with Monday until now. However he knew that she shouldn't be walking around on her own like this, so he guided her through the base in hopes of finding them and they did, but this time Zak was with them seeing how worried they got when finding her.

"Oh thank heavens you're alright. How did you find a way out? I swear I locked the lab up when we left" Drew replied thinking back from last night knowing that she did lock the door shut, and having the girl out confused her even more since it required any of the Saturday's hands to open it whenever it's locked. Hiding behind Fiskerton, Zak could tell that she was not shy, but afraid of him as he glanced at his parents who knew all the answers.

"Why is she so afraid of me? I don't get it" he asked confused and how much she trusted his adopted older brother who stood there not wanting to move.

"We didn't want to introduce you to her yet even though we are unaware if she has a name or not, but your father saved her from being badly her or worse killed by your evil double-ganger and brought her here" Drew truthful replied giving her son the news he didn't want to hear and the fact that his evil counterpart is still alive and hurting innocent life once again.

"Why does he have to do this? She is clearly afraid of me because of him.. I don't want her to be scared of me and see me as a threat or anything like Monday. I just want to help her, that's all" Zak replied feeling hurt and sympathetic that a girl had to go through such a horrible way and escaped barely her own life.

"See. The real Zak doesn't want to hurt you, so please try and get to know him, he's nothing like that evil one" Fiskerton said gently pushing her forward as she nervously looked to the floor scared to make eye contact with anyone.

"It's alright don't push yourself to like me. I can wait, having a good friendship is all about patience and trust, you clearly had none of that before meeting us as we'll keep you safe from any danger especially that evil scumbag" Zak spoke up being more positive and open to her as he had plans on being friends than enemies, feeling like she needed a buddy to show her the ropes on how life is supposed to be. The girl slowly looked up at him confused seeing a soft gently smile on his face as he seemed to be closer than he was at the beginning steadily seeing the differences between the two. "I believe that we stared on the wrong foot. I am Zak Saturday the hero in your story, so if you need anything I'll be there for you" sounding sweet and kinda cheesy he made the situation more friendlier than the negativity and awkwardness it had earlier. Pulling out a hand for her to shake, she tilted her head curious and yet confused of what to do before hesitantly grabbing it as he chuckled in a friendly manner admiring this innocent side of her. "Wow, is there anything else you can do?" Already starting to like her mainly from how adorable she was acting while he wondered what other awesome secrets she was hiding.

"Why not give her a name? From what I know she never once told Fiskerton" Doc suggested which got her interest as Zak saw her face light up making him want to know her even more.

"I know the perfect one!" Zak said in a cheery tone accidentally startling her as she removed her hand from his. "Sorry, I got a little over excited, but how does Ayla sound? I had that name stuck in my mind all month. Maybe you'll like it" wondering if this name was to the girl's liking as she took a second to think before nodding loving the thought of it making him sigh with relief.

"Ayla doesn't sound like a bad name, it's way better than being called Belladonna. That one is evil" thinking to herself Ayla was beginning to slowly trust them than she did earlier.

Later on that evening Ayla had her daily check up and food to fatten her up to rid of that horrific malnourishment and skeleton skinny body, as she was changed into more comfortable and clean clothes that could find that would be able to fit her for the time being while they begin to sort things out, before allowing her to take part on the field against the EVOs that are now walking this apocalyptic world where hardly any humans exist anymore since they were turned into blood thirsty monsters.

Ayla remained isolated for the rest of the day in order to get used to her new surroundings mainly her bedroom that was across from Zak's for safety reasons. She was drawn to the bed a comfy safe sensation she had never felt in her life laying there admiring the cushioning softness that was her pillow thinking about how her life and how it would be away from that hell she somehow escaped from.

Ayla's PoV:

This feeling is nothing I have ever felt before, is this what safety and love feels like? I have never been given such kindness before.. I kind a like it.

I kept my head laid on the thing they called a pillow as I remained on top of the sheets they call blankets a sheet of warmth from the cold nights. These people are nothing like the ones I was stuck with, they let me chose if I want to have a needle or not and even ask if I am feeling okay. I do not feel any regret on running away from those evil people and what sick plans they had in-store for me, but if that man weren't on finding me and bringing me to their hideout, then maybe I wouldn't be feeling this safe and I am forever thankful for their kindness so I should start by them showing my appreciation.

So yeah, I am going to try my best and become stronger and braver until the day I bump into them again and give them a real taste of their own medicine.

My mind was clouded feeling sleepy the more I laid here on this comfy bed facing the opposite way from the door liking the darkness, but some company would've been nice for a change as it's been so long since I've interacted with another living being, as those who I once knew have been turned and used against me trying to release this energy they believers stuck within my body thats refusing to come out, but I don't blame it I wouldn't want to show anyone what I'm capable of doing either, as you wouldn't know what evil plans they would have in mind if they got their hands on it and yet I wonder, what makes my existence so important to the evil doctor anyway? I don't even know what I'm capable of doing other than getting myself hurt and failing to do anything right.

Yet here I am in someone else's place trying to find my own destiny within it and where my path will lead me. I hope it's a good ending this time.

Will Ayla find peace and find out what lies for her at the end of the tunnel? Or will life fail her and keep going on in an infinite loop as she fails to keep those close to her safe from the dangerous place they once called home?
