"Don't even try it!"

"Lin Jin, you slapped me?" Lin Ming face reddened out of shock and embarrasement at the same time as her expression turned ugly.

She raised her hand to slap Lin Jin in return.

"Don't even try it!" Gu Man held her hand and warned with a cold but hurtful glare.

"We've had enough of your insults and disrespectful attitude, if you don't respect me, you should at least respect your uncle!... I'm very sure if brother in-law was still alive, he wouldn't let you turn out this way! But, I will not stand and watch you call my daughter names and insult my family!" Gu Man yelled at her for the first time since she had known Lin Ming and yanked off her hand.

She had really had enough of her character this time.

Lin Ming stood there giving the trio an hateful glare with fake tears in her eyes acting like she had been bullied.

"Since you all want to act all mighty, then leave this place! afterall you have refused to pay up for your rent, so leave instead! Let another tenant come in! ... Pack your filthy things and leave! My father worked for his money before he died, you all should also work for yours!" Lin Ming barked.

Lin Jin couldn't waste any more time with her, she walked straight into the house and started folding her clothes into a bag.

Gu Man had noticed what her daughter had gone in to do and also entered to join her in packing what they could pack for the night.

Lin Chen who had been mute all the while the trio were exchanging words, only shook his head at Lin Ming before going in to join his family.

He looked at his wife and daughter and saw how the duo angrily folded their wears into a bag without having concluded on where they would lay their heads for the night.

He felt pitiful for his family and blamed himself for all that his family had to face.

If only he was blessed with riches, the occurrence few minutes back will never have surfaced.

If only he had been blessed!

Lin Chen was immersed in his own thought as he stood perplexed on a spot.

"Won't you join us to pack?" Gu Man's voice broke his thought.

"Gu Man!..Lin Jin!... I'm very sorry you two had to face this, it's all my fault...I'm so incompetent and couldn't give my family a proper life, I'm so sorry please, this husband and father is just so useless..."Lin Chen spoke amidst the tears rolling out of his eyes.

He couldn't control it anymore and just had to let his tears roll out.

While growing up with his younger brother 'Lin Zihao' as orphans as their parents had died in an accident when they were in their early teens.

They had both struggled to make a living and finish up their high school, Lin Chen had always been protective over his brother and always made sure his brother was okay even with the little they were earning from odd jobs.

Lin Zihao was opportuned to apply for a scholarship as at then due to how Lin Chen was always forcing him to read instead of working.

Lin Chen preffered to work overtime alone than allow his brother work together with him, instead he will send him home to read.

Due to this scholarship, Lin Zihao was able to further his education and got a first degree, his life moved on a faster pace and he secured a well paying job for himself.

From there, Li Zihao, invested in stocks and legit platforms and finally opened a small company for himself and Lin Chen to run.

As at that time, Li Zihao had already gotten married to Liu Ning, but Liu Ning being a spoilt brat and prideful woman, dislikes Lin Chen due to his low status and will always bad mouth and insult him even in Li Zihao's presence.

It could be said that Li Zihao really loved his wife and didn't want to hurt her, but at the same time felt sorry for his brother.

When Li Chen realized that his brother couldn't make a proper decision, he decided to let go of the idea of running the company together with him and this made the bond they had for years get severed.

It was until Lin Chen heard that his brother was dying in the hospital due to last stage cancer, he went to check up on him and in which Li Zihao told him about some properties he had left for him and that if Lin Chen still loved him like a brother, he wouldn't reject his offers.

After Lin Zihao died, Liu Ning, who had known what her late husband might have done, quickly took the initiative to convince her husband's lawyer to make a different copy of the will in her favour, which the lawyer agreed to due to his own greed.

Lin Chen realizing that the will had been changed somehow, decided not to further drag with Liu Ning. To him, he felt the property wasn't his sweat, so there was no need to fight for it, he believed he was just the one who doesn't have luck with money.

Liu Ning felt Lin Chen might want to pose trouble for her later in the future and deliberately choose to give him and his family a tough time.

She took the initiative to convince the landlord of the apartment Lin Chen and his family were occupying, and the landlord used the opportunity of them owing him to send them out of the house while he recieved a compensation from Liu Ning. As at this time, Lin Jin was only eighteen while Lin Ming was already twenty.

Liu Ning pretended to be their saviour and gave them an old apartment in one of their minor properties even though she requested they pay their monthly rent.

A rent she claimed to be half of the initial amount.

And ever since then, Liu Ning and Lin Ming had been given them a hard time on purpose.

"Pah!" Gu Man slapped her husband slightly on his arm seeing how he was tearing up and speaking ill of himself.

"Why will you ever call yourself useless? Did I get married to a useless man?... Tell me, did I fall in love with a useless man?..." Gu Man was almost yelling as she scolded Lin Chen.

"Mom! that's fine, it's okay please" Lin Jin quickly spoke up before Gu Man would continue to scold her father.

"Dad! It's getting late, we should really pack up on time" Lin Jin spoke softly, seeing her father's broken state.

Lin Chen sniffed and wiped the tears off his face and joined them to pack up.

After a while, they had finished packing up and were heading out of the compound when Lin Ming who had purposely waited outside for them spoke again.

"The street is actually wide enough, you guys will be comfortable sleeping there. But watch out ok? There might be hoodlums that will want to steal from you and I don't even think there's anything valuable in those stinking bags that anyone would want to steal, tsk! It's really a pity."

Lin Jin only glared at her and choose not to reply.

To her, Lin Ming isn't a person but an animal!

The trio walked out without responding to Lin Ming's rant as they carried their luggages.

But, they had no idea where they would actually sleep for the night.

Lin Chen took the initiative to call a close friend of his at the factory where he used to work before sustaining an arm injury.

"Hello!" Lin Chen spoke.

"Hello Lin Chen!" The other party's voice came through.

"Please, I don't know if it'll be convenient to let my family spend the night at your place...don't worry I can manage in your kitchen, if only my wife and daughter can just rest their head in your living room?" Lin Chen quickly explained.

"Oohf! I'm sorry Lin Chen, my wife's mother and father came to visit and they are sleeping over, so I won't be able to help, I'm sorry!" The other party said in a sad tone.

"It's fine! It's fine!, I understand, thank you very much." Lin Chen said and hung up.

He turned to his wife and daughter who looked eager to hear from him, instead they met a sad look on his face.

This gave them the impression that the other party won't be able to help.
