Chapter 7 - The Dungeon

Finally the long awaited days have finally come. All the Rankers have completed their preparation. Thanks to Kaan travel made easier with Kaan recent creation, a subspace inventory. A dimensional space created to place equipment, items, medicine and any tools required.

Instructor Rabia couldn't be more proud of Kaan where he efficiently improves his team movements just by creating a subspace to carry all their belongings which make their travel lightweight conveniently fast without hassle.

And so the team went off to the dungeon assigned to them. Escorted by Second Year's Rankers and an instructor to back the team up just if things went sideways. What made other teams curious is that they only see First Year's Rankers travel without any luggage.

"Where is your luggage, First Year's Rankers?", asked one of the Second Year's Rankers curiously. "We had it in our emblem", answered Byzantium whilst pointing to her school emblem. "First Ranker Kaan made it for us", she added, then smiled at the Second Year's Rankers who asked about their luggage.

The Second Year's Rankers stupefied with the answer given by Byzantium. "How does it work? Luggage in our school emblem?" He talked to himself.

Finally all of them arrived at the said dungeon. The backup team makes their base camp near the dungeon entrance. Should things turn south, they will be the nearest team who will rush to aid the First Year's Rankers.

The in charge instructor called out the First Year's Rankers to get ready as they required to enter the dungeon. Kaan and his Rankers move towards the in-charge instructor near the dungeon entrance. "Are you ready for your first raid, Rankers?", the instructor asked them at the same time looking at each of them out of concern. "We are ready", Kaan answered with confidence and a smile.

With the sun shining brightly in the sky, the wind blustering to their face. Kaan, Maaza, Balto, Byzantium and Cassavetes make their step into the dungeon. Carefully they entered the dungeon and immediately scouted the area if any beast wandered near the entrance.

Balto casts his earth detection magic to scout if there are any movements nearby. Balto is a Level 2 Battle Mage which makes his detection magic able to sense movement as far as one mile radius.

"There is no movement ahead of us, Kaan. We should be safe for now", Balto informed Kaan after he completed his detection magic. Kaan nodded and they proceeded to the inner part of the dungeon while their path was lit by Cassavetes with his light-bubble magic.

After a while walking in the dungeon, Kaan and the Rankers reach a huge door. A twenty foot high bronze door. Decorated with a silver rune in ancient inscriptions. Maaza then inspected the door, "It seems like this door leads to the underground. Stay alert everyone".

Balto and Kaan pushed the door and everyone walked through the bronze entrance. Just as they set foot on the other side of the door, Byzantium spotted a goblin about hundred yards in front of them. Immediately Byzantium cast her sonar detection magic, "By the swift Amarok, I seek thou seek my enemies, reperio swen", as Byzantium holds both her hands on her chest.

"There's a horde of goblins ahead of us and three goblins at each of our side", Byzantium says as she pointed in the front and side direction where the goblins detected.

"Kaan, allow me to wipe out all this lowlife", Maaza spoke as she rushed towards the hordes. Agreeing with Maaza, without any words Kaan and Balto neutralise all three goblins at both of their sides.

Later both Kaan and Balto rush to assist Maaza. Soon they reached her, Maaza had annihilated the hordes of goblins. "All is clear Kaan", Maaza reported the situation. "I am glad you are fine Maaza. You did a great job", said Kaan patting Maaza on her shoulder.

"Supreme god of light and bright, show me the way, enlighten me, lumen", Cassavetes brightened the area with his light magic. "There are stairs here", Cassavetes pointed out the stairs going down.

2nd level inhabited by orc

All rankers arrived at the second level of the dungeon. "Byzantium, can you please use your sonar detection magic to locate monsters in this area", Kaan instructed Byzantium to use her detection magic.

"Kaan, the monsters in here are bigger than the goblins we fought at the upper level earlier", Byzantium shuddered a little. "I need you to cast silence to our footsteps. I'll buff everyone with strength, lightweight and fast-movement", Kaan requested Byzantium to cast on all their footsteps.

Incantation-less spell-casting by Kaan, he buffs all the rankers with strength, lightweight and fast-movement to the rankers. Their bodies start emitting orange, white and green aura acts in sequence.

Slowly they sneak from boulder to boulder until they are close enough to see what monster they will face. A big build body almost ten foot in height. Broad shoulder. Most of them have massive heavy pauldrons on their shoulders.

A mouth with tusks makes their appearance intimidating. Equipped with Crude Iron Poleaxe and Morning Star with two oversized Spiked Balls.Yes, it is none other than The Orcs.

"Cassavetes, Byzantium, I need you both to support Maaza and Balto once the group of orcs realised we are here", Kaan gave his instruction at the same time his eyes looking around for the nearest orc group near them.

The nearest to the Rankers is two orcs. Kaan focused in his mind his destructive strength which can destroy boulders and with his lightning speed Kaan rushed near the orcs. He made a jump as high as he could reach the orcs head. With his strength, Kaan punches one of the orcs using his right hand, simultaneously using his left feet to kick the other orc and…

SPLAT!!

Both orcs got smashed at it's head. Their heads broke like a watermelon and the orc's blood splattered. Kaan made a silent land thanks to Byzantium sound magic then rushed towards another orcs in a group of two.

Kaan moves blazing fast and makes another jump targeting the orcs head. He holds both of the orcs' heads with both his hands side by side and literally takes down both orcs and smashes their heads to the ground.

Boom!!!

It is at this time, the other orcs realise they were attacked.

"NOW!!", Kaan shouted to the Rankers and they engaged in the battle against the orcs.
